Chapter 6

Wolverine

I wash off the blood on my face with the water from the sea. I didn't wash off the blood from my shirt because there's no purpose, it will stay as a stain.

"Hey you okay?" i look up and saw Allyssa. She sat down besides me. "Yeah im fine." I answer while washing the blood from my arm after i wash out the blood from my face. I look at her when she still looking at me. "What are you looking at?" I ask her. "You don't look a bad person, you look innocent." She said. "Excuse me?" I ask her.

What does she mean? Do I look like a criminal?

"It's just--" Allyssa didn't finish when Charles interrupt. "Allyssa, Jessica's finding you." Charles said. She stood up and look to me for the last time before she walk away.

"Hey Jack. You finish?" He ask. I stand up and look to his eyes. "You are hiding something from me Charles. If you want to be my friends, you will be honest!" I said and walk away from him.

I don't want to be rude, but if he keeps hiding things from me. Then sorry, he won't get my trust.

"You look upset." Nadia said. "We should dump the body in the water." I said trying to avoid conversation about me. "Tell them." She said. "No need." I said. We stop walking when we approach the dead body. Everyone is quiet for a minute after his head explode because of a bullet. Daniel keep the bullet without saying anything. But i know he has a reason.

"Can you help me?" I ask Nadia. She agreed and help me lift the body. We throw the body in the water. "Thanks." I said in a cold voice. "You really look upset! But i don't want to know why.." She said and laugh, I just ride her trip and fake laugh.  "Hey help us find the key." One player approach us. We start helping them to find the key. I look around because maybe there is a clue somewhere. I put my attention to the door. It's a big metalic door.

"Hey Jack, don't be mad at me." Charles said. I face him with my serious look.  "What do you really want Charles?" I ask him in my serious tone. "I just want to be friends." He said. "Friends? You are trying to hide something from me. Why can't you just tell me what it is?" I said and look away. I'm gonna start finding the key again when he pull my arm back to him. "I'm just trying to protect you Jack! That's why im hiding something from you! Because i don't want you to know what happened to you last year.!" He said. "I don't need protection Charles. If you can't be honest with me then i can't be friends with you." I said. "Where are you last year? I know something happened to you that no one knows, if you can't remember the event last year, then maybe there is a reason why. Maybe they don't want you to remember what happened to you.." He said.

I took a deep breath. I know I can trust him,  but I just don't want people hiding things from me, specially if it's all about me. I want to know what happened to me last year, and why I cant remember again.

"I found something!"

We both look to the man who shout. We all run towards him to see what he found. "I saw this fishing rod in the ice." He said. It's still frozen but we can use it to get the key under the water when it unfroze, but how?

After a second the cold air whispered.

"We have to hurry up! It's hard to find the key if our surroundings is dark! I don't wanna die in a cold freeze air." Another player said. "Can i have the fishing rod?" One player said and get the fishing rod. "It's from my brother!" She said. She was shaking, not because she's cold but because she's crying. "What do you mean Samantha?" One player approach her.

I don't really know their names. So I called them as player.

"Here look! R.M.J.S. it's my brothers name! Roland Mack Junior Selianto! This is his." She said. We all look to her and try to listen on what she's going to say. "But it's impossible to be here! It must be in arctic ocean with his body!" She said.

We are all shock on what she said. We didn't expect that. "He drowned with his friend in Arctic ocean 4 years ago! And only his body wasn't found! B-but his friends body found! And they are all ice!" She said while stuttering and crying. The other player confront her and say condolence. "But we need this to find the key!" We are all shock when Daniel get the fishing rod to Samantha. "Hey give it back!" She said and push Daniel's back. "Can you stop! This is our only chance to find the key! Only chance to be alive!" Daniel talk back.

He has a point but Samantha pulled Daniel's arm to get the fishing rod. "Let go Samantha!" Daniel shout and accidentally push Samantha. Samantha fall with the Fishing Rod. The Fishing rod slide in the ice and on that moment we all lose hope. The fishing rod fall in the water.

"No!!" Daniel scream and run but it's too late, the fishing rod are now swimming under the water. "Look! Look what have you done! Now what?!" Daniel shout. He punch the ice that make his hand bleed. His blood spread on the ice to the water. He is obsess winning this game. But why? I look down when something get my eyes . I kneel down and scrub the ice using my arm.

Holy mama! There's a key inside the ice!

"Uhm guys?" I said but no one listen. "Guys!" I shout that make them ask why. "I think i found the key." I said. They are all come to my place and they are all shock when they see the key too. "How are we gonna get the key?!" They ask. To be honest? I don't even know the answer. "We need to c***k the ice." Someone suggested. "We can't, if we c***k the ice it might fall under the water with the key. So we cant." Allyssa said. "Then how?" Charles ask. "I have a pocket knife! We could make a hole to get the ice! Right?" Someone suggested. "Yes! That's a good idea." Allyssa said.

The player get his knife in his pocket and he start digging the ice. The others are watching and the others are hugging themselves to protect them from the cold. I look to Daniel and he's still kneeling down.  "Guys there's something in the water." One player said but no one heard. "Guys.. guys I just saw something." He repeated. But still no one heard him. I walk towards him because I think I'm the only one who heard him. "What did you see?" I ask. "It's like a dog or a bear?" He answered.

Can a bear swim? Of course they do! But why here? Is it a polar bear? Or what.

"Aaahhh" we are all shock when the players who is digging the ice to get the key scream. "There's a bear!" Someone shouted. We all heard a c***k and that is from the ice.

Oh s**t.

They all scream when the bear came on the ice and walking slowly like he is hunting a food. "That's not a bear! That's a Wolverine from arctic ocean!" Someone said. We all run when the whatever it is or let's just say Wolverine run towards us. Now the c***k from the ice is little by little seen. After a second, the most scariest things happened. The ice split into pieces and I am standing where the key is.

The wolverine animal is on the same ice with me, Charles, Allyssa, Nadia and Daniel and the player who first saw the Wolverine in the water.

"Don't move." Allyssa said. So we did what she said. The Wolverine walk towards the key and dig it. "What is he doing?" Nadia said. "He wants the key, not us." Charles said. "But why? He can't eat the key." Daniel said.  Well his wrong. When the Wolverine stop digging, it  get the key and swallow it. "Oh, i think he can." I said in sarcastic way. After that, it attack Charles.

"Aaahh!" Charles scream when the Wolverine bite his leg. "Charles!" I shout his name. I run towards him and kick the Wolverine to the stomach that makes him attack me. I didn't know what happened next but some energy from me was released after an eye to eye with an animal. After a seconds the Wolverine stop running towards me and he just fall on the ground, not breathing.

"What just happened?" The boy who fist saw the Wolverine ask. "I think Jack use his power to kill that animal Cameron." Nadia said. I look to them and they are all looking to me. "Atleast i use it for good."

Allyssa approach Charles and help him to stand.

"I need a knife." Daniel said in his serious tone. The player who has knife throw it to Daniel. When he get the knife, he walk towards the dead Wolverine. He slice the Wolverine stomach and the blood splatter at his face. He search for the key and once he found it, he jump out of our ice and walk towards the door and open it.

"We are now free." Daniel said and walk inside the door. The players followed him. We help Charles to jump into another ice. We wait for them to walk inside the door and I am the last one who goes in to the door.

No one is talking while looking to our surroundings. There's a tall tower inside the dead end. What will be the next challenge? It's dark in here, and the only light who is supporting us is the light from the moon and stars. I'm starving.
