A Dark Past
::Sarah's POV::     Simplicity and Peace. It was all I ever wanted. I mean, nothing beats it! Can you imagine a life with total bliss? Everyone happy, all the fluttering of laughter filling the air, and just pure light surrounding you. That, however, was just a fantasy. It was not my life for sure, not... in... the... slightest!     I lived alone. I was a part of an Omega pack called the Bronze Fangs. Corny, I know. Mostly made up of harsh clan mates and an alpha who would sacrifice a pawn to remain a king, I did not want any part of it. Naturally, pack members are designated to stay in rooms of a pack house. Not me, no sir-ree. I lived in a small shed in the nearby woods. It was still part of territory, but I find it more to my liking than living amongst those brutes.     I avoid everyone, I didn't feel a part of the tribe, nor was treated like one. Before my mother abandoned me, the flashbacks would always replay in my head before I go to bed. That was my first ever heartbreak, for she was all I had. She left without a trace, and without an explanation. She just upped and gone. Nights upon nights tears would always roll off my face, I had no one. I had nothing. Yet, why was I still here? I've tried contemplating on running away, but I knew I would be killed by rogues the second I step out of boundary.      s**t.     That was all I could tell myself.      Anyways, my everyday life after my mother left me consisted of me avoiding any relationships with others except my best friends Adam and Derrick; I would attend school, pass with flying colors without trying. They'd always seek answers from me, somehow school was a difficulty for them. Or perhaps, it's because I use it to distract me from a dark past that forever haunts me.     I've never been able to make chat with girls, they'd either sneer at me or scoff and remind me of my so called ''reputation'' my mother gave me. I hated those bitches. As if they were any better, they didn't know s**t about me. Still... I hated that I was labeled something I was not. And this all brings me back to those flashbacks.  ::Flash Back::     It was a dark and stormy night. Thunder shook the ground while lightning cracked the skies. The front door slammed open as my mother obviously intoxicated led yet another ''client'' towards her bedroom. She saw me and slurred the words, ''Go to your room''.     I obeyed. There was no way, I'd want to know or be a part of her business. Apparently, my mother became a w***e after my father left us. I was 13 at the time and knew well enough about what went on inside her bedroom. I was disgusted, but as time went by I grew to ignore it. Every night she would arrive with the scent of alcohol, and leave with a scent of her client in the morning.      Tonight was different, however. It was the night that I would never forget.     A memory that seared into my soul when one of her ''friends crept through my door while I was about to fall asleep. The scent of alcohol woke me up straight away, but I was too scared to see who was there.     ''Mo-mom?'' I called out.     In a split second I found someone on top of me! Definitely not my mom!  He was babbling out inaudible words.      ''He-hey! GET OFF ME!'' I demanded.     He slammed my arms above my head. Gripping at my wrists with such strength I thought I could feel my blood clotting. I tried to struggle my way out both scared and pissed. He then slowly traced his lips against my cheek and whispered into my ear.     ''Like mother like daughter.''     My eyes widened. Wha-what?! What did he just say?!      I tried to squeal out the words but to no avail. Nothing left my mouth no matter how hard I tried! All I could do was wiggle and struggle, desperate for a way out. His other palm firmly placed across my mouth. I felt tears forming and soon falling from my eyes. My vision became a bit blurry but I managed to see a vile smirk on his face.     ''gerrtt orffff meee!'' I mumbled behind his hands.     Before I knew it his hand that left my mouth began exploring beneath my shirt. I froze. He began to grope at my bra and soon let out hot deep breaths on my face.     ''You're an early bloomer aren't you?'' he said with a cocky smile.     I felt panic well up in my chest. Gasps and cry for help wanted to escape my mouth so bad, yet couldn't!     I don't understand! I am a child! Adults shouldn't do these things to me! No PLEASE- STOP!! Tears were thicker and falling faster hitting my sheets, What did I do to deserve this?!     Then my bedroom door slammed open.     My eyes darted towards the direction and there stood my drunken mother. She stumbled over barely keeping her balance. She yielded a beer bottle above her head and then swung straight down onto the mans cranium.Glass shattered all over and I instinctively closed my eyes.      The man fumbled off from me and glared at my mother from the floor. My mom then held the broken part of her now half shattered bottle towards him, ''Do as you please to me, but don't EVER touch my daughter!''     The man began to fume and got back on his feet. I realized he wasn't as drunk as my mom, but was definitely bigger in size! He then struck forward and yanked at my mom's hair. In total shock, I sat there on my bed, unable to move an inch.      My heart pounded against my chest. The man began to swing his fists against my mom's head. repeatedly saying, ''You worthless b***h! Don't tell me what to do!''     Stop! Stop! STOP IT!! my mind screamed, but my words could not relay the words. I heard my moms cry and winces as she received more blows. I saw her trying to exchange punches but would ultimately miss and stumble.     I got to call for help! I sobbed. I quickly got out of bed and grabbed my school back pack that was sitting by my bed side table. It was heavy due to the over-sized textbooks I borrowed from school. With all the strength I had left in me I pulled back and swung it successfully hitting the man in the head. The impact echoed through out the house and the man fell to the ground, unconsciousness.     ''MOM!'' I yelped.     She propped against a wall, frantically breathing hard.     ''Hold on mom, I'll call for help!'' I sobbed.     No response.     I then saw blood trickling down from her hair. The blows from the man managed to make a nasty cut. She began to sink lower to the floor.     ''GO!'' I heard a voice say.     Wait what?! I thought. Who's there!?     ''It's me, your wolf! Go Sarah!'' it responded.     Without hesitating I dashed out the door. Mud splatted against my clothing as I ran towards the pack house. Thunder boomed through the skies above me. My adrenaline was high, but my strength was rapidly receding. My breathing began to grow heavier as my mind became fainter. No... I have to keep going!      I made it to the pack house and swung open the door. Inside were the pack members clearly giving confused glances.     ''My mom... needs... help...'' I begged.     Gripping onto the door frame for support I couldn't believe I managed to gasp out the words. You would think you'd receive help after seeking it right? Wrong!      ''Isn't that Stella's daughter?'' I heard one of them whisper.     ''Oh, Stella the w***e?'' another murmured.     I froze.     ''That slut still owes me money!'' a woman hissed.     What was going on?! I panicked. And before I knew it, the pack members were chatting off about how horrible my mother was! No no no! My mom needs help! I pleaded in my thoughts.     That was then the alpha made his appearance. The room fell deathly quiet at his presence. Not a single word echoed as he made his way down the stairs. He was incredible huge! Equipped with all the features of an alpha he then shot a cold glare at me. Not moving from the bottom steps he bellowed, ''What is the reason for your intrusion?''     His alpha voice rang loud in my ears that I had to shut them off for a second.     I began to whimper, ''My mother... she needs help...please'' I repeated.     The alpha did not change his cold expression but instead began to be irritated. He pointed to the door behind me, ''Out!''     At that moment, I could not hear the thunder, could no longer hear the remarks from the others, I froze as my ears fell deaf. I turned away in horror. I wasn't going to get any help!I sped off back towards my home, exceeding my out of breath limits. It was extremely cold and dark, but lightning lit the whole area for a few seconds, following by the crashing of thunder.     I made it back home. Panting, I opened the front door, to see my mother now lying on the ground with a knife pierced through her stomach.     ''MOM!'' I exclaimed.     I ran and got by her side. I realized that she was still breathing, but not responding. There was more blood on the floor. More so, on her body. Her eyes glinted a bit of life yet slowly disappearing as she took quieter breaths.     ''The b***h should have made me have my way,'' mocked a familiar voice.     The man! He was still here?! I didn't know what came over me, but my fear was consumed with anger and hatred. He hurt me and my mom! I growled at him as he gestured to me with the broken bottle that was once in my mom's possession, ''Now little one, you be a good girl and lay back on the bed,'' he slurred.     I was angry I heard my wolf growling louder and then heard her say ''I got an idea, just trust me''
