Avni's hands trembled slightly as she pushed open the door to her boss's cabin. She had never taken a holiday before, except when she was ill, and she wasn't sure how her boss would react. She took a deep breath and approached his desk, her heart racing with anticipation. "Sir, I need to apply for a holiday," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. Her boss looked up from the papers he was reading, a hint of surprise in his eyes. "You want leaves?" he asked, his voice tinged with skepticism. Avni nodded, her eyes fixed on his face. "Yes, sir," she said, her voice firm. Her boss looked at her for a moment, then nodded. "Okay," he said, his voice a little softer. "You can take your holiday." Avni's face lit up with a bright smile as she felt a wave of relief wash over her. "Thank you, sir," she said, her voice filled with gratitude. She quickly left the cabin, her heart still racing with excitement. She couldn't wait to share the news with Aayush. She rushed to the office landline and dialed his number, her hands shaking with anticipation. As Aayush answered the call, Avni's voice was barely above a whisper. "Hey, Aayush, it's me," she said, her eyes scanning the office to make sure no one was listening. Aayush's voice was warm and enthusiastic on the other end of the line. "Hey, Avni! What's up?" Avni's voice was filled with excitement as she shared the news. "I got the leave," she said, her words tumbling out in a rush. Aayush's response was immediate. "Really? Then we'll leave tonight only," he said, his voice filled with excitement. Avni's eyes widened in surprise. "What? Tonight? Isn't that really quick?" she asked, her voice laced with concern. Aayush's laughter was infectious on the other end of the line. "Not at all," he said. "Just be ready. We'll pick you up at your apartment building." Avni's mind was racing with questions and doubts, but Aayush's enthusiasm was contagious. "But..." she started to say, but Aayush cut her off. "Be ready. See you soon," he said, his voice filled with excitement. Avni nodded, even though Aayush couldn't see her. "Okay," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. As she hung up the phone, Avni couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. She had never taken a holiday before, and the thought of spending time with Aayush and his friends was exhilarating. But as she looked around the office, she couldn't shake off the feeling that everything was happening too quickly. As Avni left the office, her boss's parting words echoed in her mind. "Have a great holiday," he said, his voice warm and genuine. But Avni's mind was elsewhere, her thoughts consumed by the sudden realization that her boss had announced her holiday to the entire office. As she walked out of the office, she felt a sense of unease wash over her. Everyone was staring at her, their eyes filled with curiosity and gossip. Avni's face burned with embarrassment as she quickened her pace, desperate to escape the whispers and snickers. But just as she thought she had made her escape, Rupali and Saniya caught up with her. "You're going with that boy, aren't you?" Rupali asked, her voice dripping with malice. Avni turned to face them, her eyes flashing with annoyance. "Then what?" she asked, her voice firm. Rupali and Saniya exchanged a sly glance before Saniya spoke up. "Don't you think it's wrong?" she asked, her voice laced with condescension. Avni's face darkened with anger. "I can go with anyone I choose," she said, her voice firm. "It's my life, and I'll do what I want." Abhinav, who had been watching the exchange from a distance, stepped forward, his eyes flashing with annoyance. "What's your problem with Avni and her friend?" he asked Rupali and Saniya, his voice firm. Rupali's face twisted with malice. "He's younger than her, and I've heard he's rich," she said, her voice dripping with venom. Avni's eyes narrowed. "I'm not dating him, and it's none of your business who he is or what he does," she said, her voice firm. Saniya's face fell, but she quickly recovered. "I didn't think you'd be a money-grabber," she said, her voice laced with malice. Avni's eyes filled with tears, but she refused to let them fall. Abhinav, however, was not about to let Rupali and Saniya get away with their vicious comments. "What are you two saying now?" he asked, his voice firm. "Understood that you were just friends with her because of Vishal?" Avni's felt a surge of anger and hurt, and her voice trembled with emotion. "You guys are such liars," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "You didn't come to me in these days, and now you come to me just because I'm not with your so-called brother who hits women?" Rupali's face fell, but Saniya quickly recovered. "You rejected him because he's not rich like that guy," she said, her voice laced with malice. Avni's eyes flashed with anger. "I'm done with you both," she said, her voice firm. And with that, she turned and walked away, leaving Rupali and Saniya staring after her in shock. Abhinav followed Avni, his eyes fixed on her retreating back. "What's wrong with you two?" he asked Rupali and Saniya, his voice firm. But they just shook their heads and slunk away, their tails between their legs. As Avni walked away, Abhinav quickly caught up to her, his voice filled with concern. "Avni, wait!" he said, his hand gently grasping her arm. Avni turned to face him, her eyes brimming with tears. "What now, bhaiya?" she asked, her voice trembling with emotion. "What's remaining now? They just tag me as a money-grabber because I'm with Aayush. Don't I have my own money? Don't I have my own self-respect?" As she spoke, the tears she had been holding back finally began to fall, streaming down her cheeks like a river. Abhinav's face contorted in sympathy. "I'm so sorry, Avni," he said, his voice filled with regret. "I really understand now. They just wanted you to say yes to Vishal, but when they saw you with Aayush, they started thinking something else." Avni eyes searching Abhinav's face. "Abhinav, you know me," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Do you think I would do something like that? Do you think I would sell myself for money?" Abhinav's face was filled with conviction. "No, not at all, Avni," he said. "Please, just forget about them. They were just using you for Vishal, but now they're just jealous." Avni took a deep breath, her eyes filling with tears once again. "Aayush is a good guy," she said, her voice filled with emotion. "He gives me respect, the value I never got, Vishal That guy is such a jerk." Abhinav's face was filled with understanding. "I know, Avni," he said. "Please, don't let their words hurt you." But Avni's heart was already broken, her trust shattered into a million pieces. "It's hurting for the second time," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Now they just broke my trust." Abhinav's face contorted in sympathy. "Please, Avni, don't cry," he said, his voice filled with emotion. "There will be more people like Rupali, Saniya, and Vishal, but you have Aayush now. Think of him, Avni. Think of the happiness he brings you." Avni nodded slowly, her eyes still brimming with tears. She didn't say anything, just nodded her head and turned to leave. Abhinav watched her go, his heart heavy with concern for his dear friend. As Avni navigated the crowded train and bus, her mind was a jumble of emotions, with Rupali and Saniya's harsh words echoing in her thoughts like a mantra. The hurtful comments had left a deep gash on her self-esteem, and she couldn't shake off the feeling of being betrayed by people she had once considered friends. As she reached her home, Avni felt a sense of relief wash over her, but it was short-lived. She knew she had to pack her bag and get ready to leave with Aayush, and the thought sent a wave of anxiety coursing through her veins. She sat on the sofa, covering her face with her palm, as if trying to block out the world and its cruel words. But as she sat there, Avni took a deep breath and steeled herself for the task ahead. She got up, freshened up, and began to pack her bag with a sense of detachment, throwing in whatever she found in the cupboard without much thought. Her usual precision and care were nowhere to be seen, replaced by a sense of urgency and stress. As she finished packing, Avni looked around her room, feeling a sense of disconnection from the familiar surroundings. She took a deep breath, shouldered her bag, and made her way downstairs, her heart pounding in her chest. As she stood near the bus stop, Avni felt a sense of self-consciousness wash over her. What would people think? Would they judge her for leaving with Aayush? But she wanted to be with Aayush. With a newfound sense of determination, Avni stood tall, her eyes fixed on the horizon, waiting for Aayush to arrive. As the car pulled up in front of her, Avni's heart skipped a beat. She saw Aayush and his friends grinning at her from inside the vehicle, and for a moment, her pain and worries melted away. She forced a bright smile onto her face and greeted them with a cheerful "Hey, good evening!" The group's excitement was infectious, and Avni found herself laughing and nodding along with them. Saurabh, who was practically bouncing with enthusiasm, asked, "Are you ready to have fun?" Avni's smile faltered for a moment, but she quickly recovered, not wanting to dampen the group's spirits. Aayush's eyes met hers, and she saw the genuine happiness and excitement there. He was thrilled to have her along on the trip, and Avni's heart swelled with gratitude. His vacation had been a major obstacle for them to meet, but now they were finally going on a trip together, and that was the most exciting thing for them. As Avni prepared to get into the car, Aayush asked Payal to shift back, his eyes locked onto Avni's. Payal raised an eyebrow, clearly amused by Aayush's request, but she obliged, shifting back to make room for Avni. Avni's eyes met Aayush's, and she felt a flutter in her chest. "I would have sat back, why did you shift her back, Aayush?" Sushant, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, started teasing Aayush, saying "Hmm, hmm, Aayush!" in a singsong voice. Aayush rolled his eyes good-naturedly and told Sushant to shut up. Avni sat down beside Aayush, feeling a sense of comfort and security with him by her side. The rest of the group settled in, with Saurabh taking the driver's seat, Sushant beside him, and Payal and Rahul in the backseat. As Saurabh asked, "Ready to go?" the group erupted into a chorus of "Yes!" Avni, however, felt a momentary pang of uncertainty. She didn't know how to react, didn't know what to expect from the trip. But Rahul, who was sitting behind her, leaned forward and said, "Don't worry, Avni, you'll enjoy yourself with us." Avni smiled at him, feeling a sense of gratitude towards the group for making her feel welcome. She nodded her head, and the group set off, ready to embark on their adventure together.
