Chapter 6

1475 Words
Just what the hell is going on around here? First it’s Laito going gaga for the insufferable pest, and now he sees Subaru walking around holding the infant like a lifeline! He didn’t get it. It’s just a baby! Well baby or not, Ayato isn’t going to let this get in his way of getting a good meal. Pancake is still Pancake, even though she’s also going nuts for the tiny human child, she just needed help in remembering where her place is. By his side, relinquishing her blood whenever he saw the need for it. After all, Yours Truly doesn’t like to share his things. It’s been about ten days since the triplets confronted each other, and Ayato has come to the conclusion that the best course of action is to do what he did best. Take. And that’s exactly what he did. Yui didn’t see him coming, and thankfully she left Ema back in her room while she went down to the dining hall for breakfast. She was making her way back when Ayato ambushes her. Everything moved far too quickly for her to even catch a glimpse of the vampire who attacked her. He’s been on edge due to Laito’s threats and very much needed to let off some steam. “A-Ayato-Kun?” Yui shouted in surprise. She instantly found herself trapped to the nearest wall, her wrists being slammed at the sides of her head and her knees being parted be her attacker’s. Ayato’s body presses firmly against her own to make sure there is no way to escape. “Shut up, Pancake. I’m marking what’s mine.” He growls in her ear. Pulling down the front of her pink shirt, Ayato exposes her cleavage and licked the skin between the base of her neck and the top of her breasts before chomping down. Yui screams at the sudden pain, tears welling up in her bright pink eyes. Ayato swiftly covers her mouth with his large palm to silence her. Her blood was as luscious as he remembered, having not been able to taste it in days, as the red river soothes the burning in his throat in cooling waves. He drank as if it was his last, nearly draining the poor girl of every drop. The girl in pink could feel herself growing weaker, and more faint with each gulp he took. This continues until the light-headed teen completely loses consciousness. Ayato looks up with a devilish smirk, and licks the sweet skin to clean up the mess he has made before dropping her to the ground. “Hey!” Ayato turns his head to the left. What he saw only made his smirk that much larger and much more devious. Standing only a few feet away, Subaru stood as an eye-witness to the event that had just taken place. On his face is a deepening scowl as his gaze shifts from Ayato to the unconscious Yui back to Ayato, “What the hell do you think you’re doing? You could’ve killed her!” Subaru shouts, shoving his older half brother out of the way to tend to the girl laid at his feet. Ayato only grins, “If she does then at least she was mine til the end.” Without bidding any kind of farewell, Ayato simply left, taking the time to walk away from the scene while chuckling to himself. … Yui blinks away the tiredness out of her eyes, and looks around to discern from her surroundings to give her clues as to where she was at that current moment. She figures that she is in her own room, if the overload of baby furniture and goods gave anything away. Blinking once more, she registers a presence nearby. She looks down to see baby Ema by her hip, bunching up the bed sheets in her tiny hands and trying to bring them to her mouth. “You need to stop that, baby.” The high school girl instructs the infant. At the sound of her voice, Ema turns to her adoptive mother. When Yui gave a small smile, the baby squeals and crawls over by her mother’s face. The baby looks down, almost speculating what to do next. “What is it Ema? Were you worried about me?” Yui asks, the child practically filling her with life. The little girl smiles, showing off another tooth that was starting to show along with the other two. Ema then placed her hands on to Yui’s face, specifically her mouth. The teen didn’t mind this in the slightest, and opted to kiss and blow raspberries into her daughter’s tiny hands. Ema laughs at the tickling sensation on her hands and slowly lifts them up, only to put them back down, enjoying the game she found herself and her mother becoming a part of. This continues until they were interrupted by Subaru. “Hey, if you’re awake then acknowledge the other people in the room.” “That’s right Little Mama, Ema’s not the only one who was worried you know.” Yui looks up from the precious little angel, and saw Subaru standing over her and Ema to her right, and Laito sitting on the edge of the bed to her left. “Laito-Kun, Subaru-Kun, what-?” “Ayato happened. You passed out in the hallway, so I brought you here.” Subaru answers without the patience to let her finish. Yui could feel Subaru’s agitation roll off him in waves, and slowly reaches over to gently take hold of his hand. “Thank you.” She whispers. Subaru felt his cheeks warm at the innocent physical contact, but still he didn’t let go. He huffs and starts muttering under his breath that it was nothing and that she needed to pay more attention. The teenage mother smiles in appreciation. Laito remains silent while staring at Yui. He had warned Ayato prior to what would happen if anything were to happen to Yui, luckily she was fine and simply passed out, but that didn’t stop his anger from rising. For now, he decides to let Yui rest and his anger simmer until it boiled to the point of over flowing. “Mama,” Laito sang; Yui turns her attention away from Subaru, who is now bouncing Ema on his knee happily, and looks towards Laito, “you stay here and rest for the day. Subaru and I will handle everything regarding Ema.” He told the bedridden teen mother. Yui furrows her brows, not that she didn’t trust them, but because she didn’t want to burden them. “Are you sure Laito-Kun? I can get up, I feel fine now.” She claimed. However, Laito wouldn’t take no for an answer, and since when has he ever? “Nope, you’re staying right here to rest. We wouldn’t want you getting hurt or sick, then Ema would be really worried. She didn’t stop crying until we placed her next you.” Laito explained. Yui’s eyes widen is mild shock and looks towards Ema. “See? You gotta take care of yourself, Mama.” Laito spoke to Yui who eventually gave in. “Alright, but please come get me if you need anything.” She told them, her eyes getting heavy once more. Both vampire brothers saw this and decide to let the young woman drift back to sleep. Subaru took Ema with him to watch her, taking her diaper bag along with him. Laito left the scene to let Yui sleep in peace, and go in search for Ayato. Subaru, on the other hand, set up a space for Ema in the game room. No one was in their at the moment, but he realized he forgot to grab some toys and teething rings to entertain the young. He was conflicted about leaving the young child alone, but he reasoned that he’d be gone for only five seconds at max, popping in and out. He sat her in the corner on a blanket he also grabbed, and quickly vanishes making the child stare dumbly into space wondering where her playmate had gone. Oh well, another second later someone else popped in, his glowing eyes attracting her, just as one of her adoptive fathers. Suddenly, she was being picked up, by who she wasn’t completely sure, but giggled anyway. In barely half a second, the child is gone.
