Part 14

Amber's P.O.V:

                             A week has passed by since our last talk and everything is going really well between me and Sammy. I am seeing this new side of her that makes my heart go wild. I always read about a feeling which people wrote was like having butterflies in your stomach but I never really experienced it before Sammy. She is something else. When I look at her, I realize how strong she is. She has changed herself into this strong person that I can't even imagine how hard must have been for her to do, given all she had to go through. Sometimes I think maybe she's just trying to be strong on the outside while she's still heartbroken on the inside. I just wanna be there for her, to hold her when she cries, to hug her when she needs it, to feel the warmth of her body and if she will let me, I wanna be the one to love her...

Sammy told me that she invited Eric today as he has been daily texting her for game-night. I don't really understand why she's into these games but if she's happy so am I. My mom texted me reminding me to join them for our christmas dinner where her husband and son will be present too and she has asked to me to be nice in advance. I've already told Sammy about talking to my mom. She is still worried about the money.

I heard a knock on the door, Sammy was in the kitchen making food so I told her I'd go and check. When I opened the door I saw Eric standing with his hands in the air while my bodyguards held a gun to his head

"What the f**k? What the f**k are you doing?" I pulled Eric in while Jack and Josh, my bodyguards, looked at me as if I'm a ghost.

"Miss Claire? Are you alright?"

"Jack? Josh? What the f**k are you doing here? And how did you even f*****g get here?" I practically shouted at them. Eric was hiding behind me while Sammy ran out of kitchen to see what was going on.

"We recieved a call from the mansion, it was Miss Anna, she was sure that you had been kidnapped. She asked us where you were but you ordered us to not follow. She told me to find you and when we tracked your cell it lead us to this address."

"You tracked my f*****g cell? so what? now you're f*****g tracking me wherever I go?. "

"Well, Amber. Now that they're here why don't you invite them in without using the eff word?" Sammy said smiling, her hand on my back pressing and I nodded.

"Welcome gentlemen." Sammy invited them in but they looked at me, I swayed my hand in a welcoming way.

"Miss Amber, if you don't mind me saying, can you please call Miss Anna? She has been worried sick for you." I sighed at Josh and took his cell and copied number in my own and went upstairs to talk to her.

Talking to Anna was like breathing in fresh air. I told her that I was fine and there was nothing to worry about. I told her about Sammy as well, leaving out the parts where she kidnapped me ofcourse. Out of nowhere Anna told me that I sounded happier and that she was happy for me. A warmth of love surrounded me as I promised her to come for Christmas dinner but only for her. We talked about everything and then I hung up.

When I went back downstairs I saw Sammy had served dinner to all of them and was waiting for me. It melted my heart. I joined her and we laughed and ate together. After we were done I told Jack and Josh that they can leave without any worries and I was safe here anyway. Josh told me he brought my car with him and it's parked outside. He handed me the keys to the car and left smiling.

Eric knew me as Sammy's girlfriend so he had alot of questions which Sammy and I gladly answered, but I wasn't really sure if Sammy sees me as her girlfriend and I won't even rush her into anything. Things are going great and I don't want to ruin it by doing anything stupid.

"So, you are rich, huh?" Eric asked raising his brow to which I laughed.

"No Eric, my mother is rich. I on the other hand am not."

"Still, it is all yours." he paused for a second and spoke again, this time louder, "so that Audi is also yours?"

"Yes Eric. It was a birthday present from my mom."

"Eric, dude, stop boring my girl with stupid questions" Sammy spoke out of no where causing me to blush, she gave a peck on my head causing the zoo to go wild in my stomach before sitting on the couch with me.

We were all talking and having fun, well, I was making fun of them both for fighting like kids on stupid games while Sammy gave me occasional glances with a smile on her face. All was great untill Sammy's cell rang. She paused the game causing Eric and I to look at her as she stood up abruptly and quickly rushed up to her room. I looked at Eric and he looked as lost as I was. We both followed her quickly.

We entered the room finding Sammy sitting infront of her laptop, which attached to several screens making one big one.

"Dude, what happened?"

"Eric, they want to buy my software. They say they'll pay me 40grand. Dude. I have done it ! " Sammy said with her head in her hands and her smile bigger than ever with tears visible in her eyes.

"What!" Eric almost jumped in happiness.

"Yes, I just have to give them in written form that I won't have anything to do with it after. They'll relase it but with their name and not mine. But it doesn't matter. I'll get the money. I'll get the money Amber ! I can save her." she stood up from her chair and hugged me. I looked over her shoulder to Eric's face which was now filled with proud and sadness all at once.

"Congrats Dude!" Eric said to Sammy while hugging her.

Something was not right and I knew it. Around 9pm Eric told us that he'll be leaving telling he had a good day. He asked me to show him my car so I lead him to it while Sammy stayed inside as she was working on her laptop. I knew Eric wanted to talk to me. He has been sad since Sammy gave him the news. I took him to my car and he requested me to let him see the interior and I agreed. I threw the keys towards him and we entered the car but Eric wasn't in there because of the car.

"Um.. Amber? If you don't mind, can I say something to you?"

"Yeah, sure" I smiled

"How well do you know Sammy?" as simple as his question was, he still managed to make me nervous.

"Well enough. I am her girlfriend you see." liar.

"Yes I know." he sighed "You see Amber this software that Sammy was talking about, it was her dream project. She has been working on it since we met and now just to save someone--"

"You know?" I couldn't help but ask.

"Yeah. Sammy is like my sister. She tells me everything about her. I know she needs money and I know she needs it because of that two-faced b***h. I have tried talking her out of it, but no matter what I say she just won't listen. Amber I have seen her with you, she is so happy. I have never seen her smile like that or this much happy. You make her happy and that's a big deal for her considering the torture she endured just because she was different." I smiled and felt my cheeks heat, I'm definately blushing again.

"Thanks Eric, it means alot."

"Hey, no need. I saw you both. The chemistry you share, how you both kept looking at eachother. I saw the way you look at her Amber. I see the love you hold for her in your heart through your eyes. That's why I'm gonna ask you to do something, not for me but for Sammy." I got worried. I knew what was about to come.

"Try to talk her out of it Amber. She'll listen to you."

"What makes you so sure of it?"

"Amber, I know it's hard considering it hasn't been that long since you both got together, but you don't see what I see. I have seen Sammy before you and I see her now. You have changed her, you've made her happy. Hell I'd say she's in love with you, even if she won't accept that for now. But Amber, I beg you to try and talk her out of it. You'll be saving her and her future. I know it's alot to ask but please just try." I nodded.

After Eric left I came back in. Sammy was still working while I prepared for bed. Eric's words ringing in my ears. I wanted to talk to Sammy but I was scared to invade her privacy. Eric thinks she loves me, but knowing what I know I won't be expecting her to say anything any time soon that is considering she actually does.

Sammy's P.O.V:

                              I was so happy, I will get the money I need to shut that person's mouth and get the proof from him and I won't even have to do anything stupid anymore. I felt so much better, but I had to finish this before three days. I had already mailed that unknown person that I'd pay them before Christmas.

I worked till late at night and I went to bed to see that Amber was already asleep. I was so tired and when I got into bed Amber came to me in a second, like even in her sleep she could know that I was here. Having her here gives me so much peace.

I woke up early as I had to complete the remaining work but I just couldn't let go of Amber while she held on like that, so I just laid there watching her. Waiting for her to wake up, kissing her forehead and breathing in her fragrance.

"Good Morning beautiful!" i greeted her when she woke up, she blushed but refused to open her eyes.

"Good Morning. Why are you up so early?"

"I have work to do. I have to complete this project so that I could sell it and get the money as soon as possible."

"About that..." she seems nervous which is definately not normal for Amber.

"It's ok.. You can talk to me." I assured her smiling.

"Sammy... this project of yours..." she was hesitating but I got her.

"Eric got to you, right?"

"Yeah. He said it was very important to you and you worked so hard for it. Now when you can have it for yourself you just wanna give it away? I mean.. I can help you with the money and all--"

"Amber, I know your intentions are good, but if I wanted money from you I would have asked for it myself. I made this software to be out there in the world not to stay in my laptop. I don't care if it goes out by my name or another company's name as long as it's out there for everyone to use--"

"And it is not because you want to protect Jenna's secret?"

Before I could answer her I heard my cell ring, I picked it up from my night stand. The number was familiar and just as I realized whose it was, I felt this fear in me. I looked at Amber, she must have seen my face. She wanted to ask but I told her to keep quiet and joined my forehead with Amber's as I answered the call.

It was my dad.....
