Chapter 17 - Brother

Leah’s POV
Logan and I stood waiting outside the ballroom doors waiting to be announced. Time seemed to move slowly until Logan squeezed my hand catching my attention. I turned to look at him and his smile immediately put me at ease.
“Eclipse Park! It is my honor as the Alpha King along with my mate the Luna Queen to be present at this special event tonight! A pack is only as strong as the Alpha and Luna that have sworn to protect and lead them. Alpha Logan of the Eclipse pack has found his Luna and Mate and I cannot be prouder to introduce them as a couple before you all tonight. May we soon be celebrating their mating ceremony and hopefully followed by many pups. I present to you Alpha Logan and Leah!” As Charles finished his announcement speech the doors opened and Logan and I made our way into the ballroom. To say the sight was overwhelming would be an understatement, everything was perfect like a Queen had a hand in it. The pack was all clapping and cheering as we entered the ballroom. The crowd made room for Logan to escort me to the dance floor and we enjoyed our solo dance in front of the pack. After the music had ended Logan and I walked to where Charles and Rose were waiting hugging them both for their support and blessing. Pack members made their way to us to congratulate Logan and I, as the night progressed I couldn’t remember one name to the next. I decided I needed some air and made my way to the patio, Logan hadn’t yet noticed my escape which was okay I needed a moment to breathe.
As I stared off into the sky the Northern Lights danced as if they were celebrating with us. “There better than fireworks aren’t they” A strange yet familiar voice startled me. I turned to see a man who looked alot like Logan, same build, height but he had blonde hair. I wasn’t sure who he was or what to say, suddenly I felt the familiar tingles around my waist. “Luke! Who let you out?” Logan asked, chuckling. “Logan, do you really think I’d miss formally meeting my brother's mate” The man who I assumed was Luke and was confused by the brother part because Logan had never mentioned a brother. “Brother?” I said turning my head towards Logan. “Leah, this is my younger brother Luke, he’s been away at College wasting my money learning about agriculture”. “Excuse his ape like manners Leah, I am definitely not wasting his money, if this ape took any of my suggestions this pack could become self sustaining” Luke said as he came closer to us. “Ape Luke really?” Logan said as he came forward and gave his brother a hug. “Don’t listen to him Leah I am not a Ape”, “He does have a point Logan I said brush my hand on his arm. Logan gave me a surprised look “What? You think I’m a Ape?” I laughed “No Logan you really could make the pack self sustaining”. “I love her already Logan! Does she have a sister”, “Seriously I don’t need you encouraging him Leah” Logan gave me a pleading look. “We can discuss it later Logan. I think it’s time for me to dance with you beautiful mate” Luke announced, grabbing my hand away from Logan’s arm and escorting me to the dance floor. I could see Logan fuming. “You really don’t take long to get under his skin do you” I said to Luke as we started dancing. “Hey that’s my job as the younger brother besides he could stand to be knocked down a few pegs sometimes, it’s not my fault I was born the spare”. I looked at Luke “You aren’t a spare”, “what else would you call the heir who was born second and couldn’t take the Alpha role unless his brother dies?” Luke asked with a laugh. “I’d call him free”, “You are an amazing sister Leah” Luke chuckled, sticking his tongue out at Logan as we passed by.
