Marcus watch as the green snake made her way to him he tried not to show his hate not that he needed to try that hard, he was a master at hiding what he truly feels.

Monica came offering him a drink he took it but didn't drink, "you don't drink"? she asked and Marcus answered with just a nod.

before coming to the party she has gotten everything she needs to know about Marcus. which made her more curious cause he had a wonderful career in Mexico so she definitely felt something was off when he decided to uproot himself and settle in California. she wouldn't have read a lot of meaning to it if he had come on his own, of cause California is filled with opportunity so maybe he might want more fame but what ignited her curiosity the most was finding out that he has never worked with the twins before nor have any form of communication but they are suddenly sharing a building and firm.

Marcus was watching monica being lost in her thought, he knew exactly what she was thinking and what she has found. he knew she was just thinking about how to put her question without sounding noisy.

he touched her shoulder to bring her back she was a little stunned to see that she zoned off. after shaking the awkwardness off she finally started talking.

so attorney Marcus i have heard a lot about you, you are famous and haven't lost a case before that's nice if you ask me. we need promising young men like you so the citizens can feel safe. Marcus just smiled and nodded, he was going to play this game of hers with her.

this guy is really good i most give it to him monica thought to herself, she decided to up her game.

Marcus knew his carefree attitude was getting under her skin and that was the plan to irritate her.

"I see u have done your home work judge Monica", Marcus finally gave a response which earned a grin from Monica, thinking she has successfully anger him and would get a reason from him. but this grin quickly faded when she saw him walking to Ber slowly and leaned down to whisper in her ears "see judge Monica the law is everything" and i do like to fight with the law. so whatever i do in my spare time isn't anybody's business.

judge Monica was stunned for a moment but she quickly recovered herself and gave Marcus a heart warming smile. she walked around him in circles, she wondered where such a man has been and why she didn't have him on her team. now that he is here she would definitely do everything to get him on her team.

well attorney i always do a full background check on new faces that pop up in my city, just to make sure. especially those connected with the law.

Marcus began to chuckle after she said that, this woman couldn't be more fake he thought.

am sure you do judge Monica, now if you will excuse me i have a party to attend. judge Monica stretched her hand in an attempt to stop him, he turned to her with a frown and ask if she wasn't down talking. she brought out a card and offered it to Marcus and asked him to come to the office when he has free time. Marcus accepted the card and thank her. then he left.

as Marcus made his way to the ball he greeted some people and exchanged information with others. he made his way to the governor they exchanged their greetings and he even offered him a gift. the governor couldn't stop expressing how happy he was for him being here and was telling him the great things they would do together.

Marcus kept starring at his watch, the governor has already consumed the poison as it was put on his first wine, the poison was colourless, odourless and tasteless and very hard to detect. the poison wasn't made to kill him as it will easily be detected if he is taken to the hospital, rather it will slowing increase his blood pressure which will make him have a heart attack an dit will lead to his death. the doctors will consider it a natural death unless its an expert.

the governor already consumed the poison about thirty to fourth minutes ago so the governor should die any time soon. he excused himself after talking with the governor a little, after using the bathroom he was about to leave when someone stops him.

good evening attorney my name is jerry Collins i have heard a lot about you and i just wanted to say hello and to also welcome you to the Golden City. he stressed his hands in an attempt to shake Marcus, Marcus looked at him for a while before taking his hand for a hand shake

Marcus managed to breath out. he wasn't feeling comfortable and he was slowly loosing time he needed to witness the governor's death so he quickly left without waiting for the man's response.

immediately he got to the ball he saw that the governor has already collapsed and was being rushed to the hospital, he cursed within himself and rushed to offer his help. the party was ruined, while some where crying, others were smiling, some were even gossiping. after the governor was sent to the hospital the party was dismissed and everyone were going to their respective homes.

Marcus was one of the first to leave the game has started and he had to prepare.

somewhere in the dark corner in the party were figures where gathered. toasting to the success of their plan. finally the one person that stands in their way has been removed now they can achieve plan G.C without any interruption.
