A Meeting To Remember
Gianna a young Intern working for free in a journaling company had finally been given a week off! The week off she had been waiting for, to focus on her dream of becoming a journalist. Sat in the corner of a somewhat busy cafè, typing on her Laptop, researching and researching. Little did she know that today was the day her life was about to change! She drank her coffee like any Saturday, a hot Latte. Her finger tapping on the keyboard as she read and read. Her beautiful long hair perfectly aligning her face! Splash!!! She spills her coffee all down her short white dress. "oh noo" she exclamied head in her hands. At least it wasnt on the Laptop. That's a good thing right? She packed her laptop away clearly mad at herself for losing focus 'time to go home' she thought to herself. Before leaving Gianna decided it would be best to get a coffee to go, just to keep her awake! That's what she did. "Latte to go please" she said softly to the woman working. As she was about to pay a strong looking hand holding a credit card swooped in paying for her. "HEY I can pay" she screamed quietly, but loud enough to know she was mad. As she turned the was this tall, strong, handsome man with a face from movies! "I never said you couldn't I just liked the look of you" the man say in a husky tone a smile gleaming over him. Gianna had this feeling in her chest, as though her heart was beating faster "oh, well thank you then, I guess" she stuttered as she spoke. It was like she forgot how to speak English! The man bought out his hand taking hers and laying a gentle kiss on her fingers while bowing. "The name is Marcus, and yours?" He asked with a twinkle in his eye although he had never laid his eyes on someone so beautiful before. "Gianna" she said with a smile small but noticable. Marcus smiled back "beautiful name, Gianna" he grabbed the coffee he paid for and a pen, writing somthing on the cup. As he handed the cup to this woman he had just met, he say's "my number for you to call, or text." With that he left very quickly. Gianna looked around confused as though she had imagined the whole interaction, but that wasn't true, the nukber was on the cup! Later that evening in a small house by the ocean Gianna and her Mother Cleo were eating dinner. "So mum, I met a guy today" Gianna told her mother although with little to no confidence! Cleo blinked, slowly the raised her eyebrow. She truly never thought the day would come where boy talk with her eldest child would happen! I mean Gianna was twent-five and not once had she 'met a guy' at least none that her mum knew of. "Wow tell me more" Cleo was beaming with happiness from this news. A guy? This is great! You see... Gianna had spent her life terrified of meeting someone, falling in love and even the possibility of marriage. You may be wondering why and I will tell you. When Gianna was Five-years-old her younger sister Harper was born. They have the same Father so at this point meeting 'the one' was a dream that Gianna gushed about. But when Harper was only Three months old their Father left. They had never seen him since then. Harper has no memories of her father! But Gianna is haunted by the day she heard her Father, her hero say the word 'I am leaving forever, and Gee love isn't a fairytale'. She would forever hear those words haunting her mind as though it was true! And maybe love isn't a fairytale, but that doesnt mean it doesn't exist. So now you know why Cleo was so shocked at the news of Gianna meeting a guy! They spent hours talking about it, "he paid for my coffee which I hated, but he was a sweetie" Gianna explained. This went on for hours, and hours, and hours. Until soon the mother and daughter slept peacefully on the sofa. The Next Morning Early hours of Tuesday morning Cleo had headed to work leaving Gianna doing the house work in the kitchen. Singing and dancing along to her favourite song! While she was cleaning off the side's in the kitchen the doorbell went off! She answered the door slowly too, Marcus? Gianna's mind started racing, how did he know where she lived? "Gianna right?" He questioned in a gentle tone, Gianna nodded a confused look in her eyes. "You left you're purse at the Cafè, your ID had your address" he explained. Gianna took a sigh of relief, thank god he's not a stalker. "Thank you so much" she exclaimed in relief with a smile on her face bigger then the day before. She grabbed her bag and placed it on the hook begind the front door, coming back to the conversation but before she could say anything Marcus says "date? Tonight?" Gianna stand there shock over her face, but Lust in her eyes. "yes" she answers! Later That Night Gianna sat patiently at her kitchen table, the soft glow of candlelight casting a warm hue over her elegant red dress. Her hair cascaded in gentle waves around her face, framing her expectant eyes that sparkled with anticipation. The aroma of freshly baked bread filled the room, mingling with the delicate scent of her favorite perfume. She glanced at the clock, her heart fluttering with each passing minute, eagerly awaiting Marcus's arrival. Tonight was special, and she could feel the magic in the air, knowing that this date could be the beginning of something truly extraordinary. A gentle knock on the door echoed through the house, and Gianna's heart skipped a beat. She flashed a warm smile at her mother, Cleo, who gave her an encouraging nod. Opening the door, Gianna's eyes met Marcus's, and a spark of excitement danced between them. "You look absolutely stunning," Marcus whispered, his voice filled with admiration. Gianna's cheeks flushed as she replied, "And you, as handsome as ever." Hand in hand, they made their way to Marcus's car, the evening air filled with the promise of romance. As they drove through the moonlit streets, the world outside seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of them, lost in the magic of the night. As they drove through the quiet streets, the soft hum of the engine filled the comfortable silence between them. Marcus glanced over at Gianna, his eyes filled with admiration. "You look absolutely stunning tonight," he said, his voice gentle and sincere. Gianna's cheeks flushed with warmth as she smiled. "Thank you, Marcus. I was a bit nervous, but seeing you makes it all worth it." He reached over and gently squeezed her hand. "I'm glad you feel that way. I've been looking forward to this all day." She intertwined her fingers with his, feeling a surge of affection. "So have I. Tonight feels like the start of something really special." They arrived at the restaurant, a charming little place nestled by the seaside. Twinkling fairy lights adorned the entrance, casting a magical glow over the cobblestone path. As they stepped inside, the soft melodies of a live violinist filled the air, mingling with the gentle murmur of conversations. The tables were draped in crisp white linens, each adorned with a single red rose and flickering candles that created an intimate ambiance. Marcus held the door open for Gianna, his eyes never leaving hers. "This place is perfect," he said, his voice filled with wonder. Gianna looked around, her heart swelling with joy. "It really is. Thank you for choosing such a beautiful spot." They were led to a cozy corner table by the window, where the view of the moonlit ocean added to the enchantment of the evening. As they sat down, Marcus reached across the table and took Gianna's hand in his. "Here's to a night we'll never forget," he said, raising his glass in a toast. Gianna smiled, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "To us, and to new beginnings," she replied, clinking her glass with his.
