"Dami? Damilola?" his smile widened like he had planned this whole meeting, Jason was more than happy to see her standing at his front again, she looked gorgeous like before.
"You!" she whispered, standing still.
"Wow!" he looked around the bakery. "No wonder the name sounded familiar, Dami's bakery" Jason smiled.
"Do you know each other?" June asked, walking towards Dami.
"Yeah, she's my penguin" Jason giggled.
"What?" June looked at Dami, she rolled her eyes instead.
"That's if she accepts to be my penguin," He says with so much confidence, holding his coffee in his left hand.
"He's a romantic" June whispers to her.
"You're the CEO of JL's group?" she interrupts.
"Remember I told you my name, don't tell me you forgot, Jason Lee?"
"So JL your name? Jason Lee?" she couldn't deny that she had a hint but brushed it away instead.
"Yeah, why?" Dami took a quick scan at him, he was too hot and simple to be a CEO. "You're so gorgeous," Jason says, bitting his lips while taking his quick scan at her.
"Oh my goodness" June smiled leaving them.
"Do you know what a penguin is?" He asked, Dami shook her head, he definitely got that from her books, acting like he formulated it, he was cute.
"No?" she says, acting like she didn't know.
"Forever and loyalty" he came forward, Jason took her hands and kissed them like before. "My forever," he says smiling.
Dami smirked away, she found herself smiling whenever she was with him. She looked at him.
"Its fate" he shrugged.
"Fate?" she chuckled, she thought as much it had to be fate.
"Would you give me your number now?"
"No,"
"Let me take you out for dinner" He insisted, making sure he wasn't going to let her go again.
"I'm busy" she brushed past him.
"Any time, midnight? we could dance the night away" Dami turned back at him, she was about to speak when two ladies walked in.
"Follow me" she whispered, heading upstairs.
"Yes, Missy" Dami smirked.
"Let me take you out for dinner?" he insisted as the door closed behind her.
"Why are you here?" she asks
"Your assistant held me? and I can't leave since you're here"
"Ah, that's right" she remembered the project she was working on and the reason he was here. She was going to start her clothing brand and needed to a Collab with a famous company.
"What's wrong?" he watched her search her drawer.
"I would love to make a Collab with your clothing brand, Mr Lee," she says, handing out a file to him, Jason smiled, playing hard to get? he loved that.
"You're difficult, I like that" he glanced at the file, dropping his coffee on her desk. Dami returned the smile.
"So?" She ignored his tiny sweet talks.
"I would take a look at it if you allow me to take this beautiful stunning young lady out for dinner" Damilola tried her best not to smile, who wouldn't blush to that, Jason was a man with words and everyone got to her.
"Mr Lee," she looked away from him, controlling her excitement.
"Fine, I won't mix work with personal feelings, I see what I can do for you gorgeous," Jason says.
"Thank you, I would be waiting for your feedback," she smiles, Jason stared at her fingers, she hurt herself.
"Is everything okay?" he raised his gaze to her eyes, Dami's smile faded, she looked at her hand finding a cut. She clenched her jaw.
"Yeah, it's a small bruise" she cleared her throat, managing a smile.
"Doesn't look like a small bruise to me" Dami recalled last night, falling from the bed she had scratched her hand by the bedside. She closed her eyes briefly and then a smile graced her lips.
"I would be fine" She smiles, Jason stared at her for a moment, her smiles were fake like she was forcing herself to be happy but she wasn't, she looked the same when he had met her, a vessel filled with frustration, fear and anger.
Jason stepped closer handing his phone to her "Your number" his face turned cold, Dami furrowed her brows, she took his phone and typed in her number.
"Why are you suddenly serious" she faked a smile again.
"I don't like those smiles, they aren't genuine, penguin"
"Stop calling me that," she typed in her number since there were going to be partners.
"You're so pretty when you smile genuinely, that's your charm" He whispered, dialling the number she had typed.
Dami checked her bag for her phone, Jason stepped backwards waving his phone to her, he had saved her number as penguin and a purple heart.
"I would be waiting for a call, penguin" Dami had no words, he took the files and left.
"Penguin?" she shook her head, sitting. Dami took her phone and scrolled through her phone in search of her book named she's my penguin.
"Okay!" June walked in
"Oh," she quickly locked her phone.
"He definitely reads your book you got your penguin?" June teased.
"Stop"
"No, I am not, how do you know him?"
"I met him, that night at the bar after you passed out" She softly says.
"And?"
"Things got spicy, he was sweet"
"Four years in Singapore after starting a new life, God decides to bless you more"
"What do you mean" she giggled unlocking her phone.
"You got a romantic one, don't you want to date?"
"My nightmares are back" Dami dropped her phone on the desk. They stared at each other in silence, June tightened her lips finding words "And my medications aren't helping" She continued.
June stepped away, "Since when?" she asked softly.
"Last night, it was so horrible that I-I-I wouldn't wake up" Dami's stammered, she swallowed lowering her head.
"I'm moving in" June rushed, exhaling.
"No," she turned her neck in her direction, June furrowed at her.
"You need someone to watch you" She stepped closer.
"Peach-" Dami gets interrupted.
"Peach is gonna watch you? a dog?" June giggles sarcastically.
"I'm fine, it happens right?" she leaned backwards staring at the ceiling.
