"What would you like?". a waiter interrupted, she opened the menu staring, she raised her brows at the price, quickly she calculated in Naira. "Spaghetti Tomato and Basil 31 and Château Latour, grand cru, pauillac, 2005" "Anything else?" He asked, Jason looked at her, she didn't even glance at them and stared at the beautiful night sky, Lavo Italian Restaurant & Rooftop Bar, was worth the thousand. "No," he hands him the menu, staring at her. "Do you come up here often?" she looked at him, He looked at the night sky. "Not too often," he replied with a smile. "It's really beautiful," she looked there weren't a few people. Damilola thought about how good it would feel to just lay down staring at the sky and stars. "Yeah, really beautiful," he says, Dami smiled at him, and she rolled her eyes. "Tell me about you," He says, leaning towards the table, Dami blushed. "Oh, I..." "If you don't want to, it's fine... with time" He assures. "There isn't anything special... I am adopted I actually never met my parents" "You're adopted?" "Yeah, is something..." "I am too," Jason says, "I have a brother who's adopted too" "Really?" "Yeah, he's also Korean, he was adopted at fourteen, that's when we became best friends," Jason says, with a huge smile on his face, it looked really genuine... Dami felt bad, for being truthful about his family but she couldn't even say hers with so much joy on her face. "Mr Lee" The waiter notifies before placing the food on the table. Dami smiles but within a second the smile was gone, she buried her head below taking out her phone. "Are you okay?" Jason asked, his glances at the waiter and back at her, his mouth opened and closed like he wanted to say something else. "Yeah, I am... are you?" Dami asked confused. "You look upset... I hope I didn't" "No, you didn't" "Okay, then what's wrong?" he asked in a low voice, his eyes focused on her. "Everything's fine... Thank you" she tells the young waiter who was about to take his leave. "Thank you," Jason tells him, looking back at Dami. The night quieted down and they both stared at the beautiful masterpiece placed on their table, Jason smiled and raised his gaze at her. "You know... I know this recipe" He paused, "I shouldn't right?" He picked his fork, about to dig in. What?" Dami asked curiously. "Are you a fan of books?" Jason asked, smiling hard that his teeth were obvious. "Yeah, I guess... I have read some few" she says, Dami had no idea why she wasn't telling him she was a writer, how could she be so sure of him staying for a long time. "I love a particular writer" He whispered leaning forward like he didn't want anyone to hear what he was going to say. Dami chuckled at how cute he could be, the tiny things he was doing, he was like a kid. "A writer?" Dani giggled. "She's more of a ghostwriter" He stated, kicking his lips, and moving backwards. Jason took his glass of wine and sipped through it. "Really?" She asked, concentrating on the food placed at her front. "Yeah, you should check her out if you enjoy reading." "You're so funny" "No, I am serious" "What's her name?" "Mariposa" Dami laughed, she quickly reached out for a napkin covering her mouth. "I am sorry" she cleared her throat, apologizing. "I am glad you're laughing," Jason says, with his brows raised at her, Dami looked at him confused. "You're glad?" "Yeah, I noticed you haven't really been in the mood" "Yeah?" "Yeah, I thought It would make you laugh" "Well, it did" "Why don't we go for a little dance after this" He suggested. "Dance? no, I don't think so" "Come on, it would be fun... besides I think you've got some moves" Dami giggled, as she looked at him. "Really? you think I do?" "Yeah, I think so..." He says, looking at the band that played a slow beat close to them. "Oh, no" She laughed, staring at him, unable to take her eyes off him, the feeling is just sitting with him made her comfortable. Just like that, the night faded into midnight, Dami turned the lights to her apartment, and Peach ran forward barking... She looked at the ceiling-to-floor window and admired the night sky and tiny little stars. She walked into her bedroom taking off her clothes, and shoes. Dami jumped to the bed laying and facing the ceilings. "Yes gorgeous?" His voice echoed in her head, maybe he was a blessing she was meant to grab, whenever she was with him... time passed and she couldn't even realize she was happy with him till she got back home... then she would realise how much fun he was. TWO HOURS AGO. "You're so pretty," Jason says, "You're attracted to my beauty?" "Facially? yes... but everything about you is heartwarming" He softly says, locking eyes with her. Speechless, she stared, her cheeks were flushed and Damilola was blushing like never before. "Thank you" She managed to say, sipping her wine away. "I know this is so soon... but I can't help it" "What?" She giggled, Jason always had more to say, he had a way of making her speechless. "Go on three more dates with me... Damilola Adesina" He cleared his throat, "After that... be mine... be my girl" He stuttered. "Jason" Dami blinked, surprisingly he was a straightforward person, although she knew he was, what he had just asked her was also surprising. "I know it's too soon... but I can't let go of you, I have had you in my mind... you're mind-blowing and smart and... I just want to be someone to you" He breathed, looking at her. The ceilings were getting darker and fading as Dami battled to go to sleep, she couldn't take him off her mind either. This wasn't part of her plan, she hoped to start a new life here in Singapore but love and relationships weren't been part of her plan "It would soon pass" she whispered to herself, so many thoughts and questions ran through her head, she barely knew him and he was confident in wanting to be with her and slowly she drifted into the dreamland.
