The Awakening “What do we do now miss?” My Personal assistant Aries, asked softly unsure of the thoughts going through my head as i looked at the chandelier in my office recalling my past sacrifices for the man I loved and I thought he loved me too. “Lucan betrayed me…” I said so calmly surprisingly to the ears of Aries. “I wouldn't let it slide” I continued firmly, my new beautiful painted nails gracefully massaging the glass of champagne I held in my hand. “I would make him pay dearly for it, even if it's the last thing I do with this second chance that the moon goddess has given me…. with each passing day and seconds I would not relent on my revenge….he would lose everything, everthing he has i would take it from him bit by bit until there's nothing else to take except his soul” I growled in my wolf Arya's voice,loud enough for the birds of the air to hear and bear witness with a very bold and dangerous smirk. “When do we take our leave miss?” Aries eagerly asked already ready for my next command. “Get the new pack members ready, I have to Address them all immediately” I said softly with my legs crossed as I poured myself another glass of champagne. “Right away miss” Aries replied humbly as she left to do my bidding. Aries was an orphan who was maltreated by her foster werewolf parents, she was so intimated and weak that her wolf was weak too but luckily i rescued her from their wicked clutches and took her to my realm and groomed her under my wings…she has improved over the years and gotten over the trauma and is as strong as any other werewolf in my pack. ************************************************ The room was filled with a lot of new pack members that has been recently rescued from one werewolf realm or the other, some were looking so unkept and malnourished while others were looking so hopeless and depressed but I was here to right the wrong, to give them a place called home and most of all…..give them hope. “I am Lyra, Alpha of the moonstone werewolf realm, Abula General of the West werewolf council, First of werewolves, protector of the moonstone realm” i announced in my wolf Arya's voice, she loves it when its time to talk powerfully. “You all are welcomed into this werewolf realm…this is your new home and it would forever be a home to the rejected and other werewolves who have been wronged. You come here today dejected, broken, sad, depressed, hungry, hopeless, rejected, confused, abused, sorrowful and many more…. but I see warriors, I see survivors…I see werewolves who would make this realm and beyond this realm a greater place if given a second chance and by the mercy of the moon goddess I have been given the responsibility to give you all hope and a second chance…. once again you all are welcomed to this pack, turn to your left everyone…there's a male werewolf who would show you all to your respective homes, may the moon goddess protect us all…” I concluded with a bright smile and my head held up high. “Miss….” Aries called from the back as I was about exiting the pack house where I had come to welcome the new pack members. “Miss I did the statistics and the total number of the new pack members for this month has increased than that of last month” she reported happily, grinning from ear to ear. “That's good to know…it shows how much people are maltreated, betrayed and misunderstood every single day” I replied sadly as i continued to walk down to my Lamborghini that was parked at the pack house garage with Aries still walking by my side. “Miss you drove by yourself today?” Aries asked in bewilderment. “Yes I did” I replied calmly trying to walk faster to avoid more questions, Aries could be so curious sometimes. “But …miss you rarely drive yourself”she continued not giving up easily with her excess questions. “What can I say Aries…today is definitely one of those rare days” I said shutting her up with a smirk that clearly said I didn't want further questions. “I must say, you look very beautiful today miss” Aries said smiling sweetly. “And your suit…I love this cooperate trouser…you look so radiant and stunning” she continued, praising me like a child using sweet words to take candy from her parents. “yes…thank you very much my dear Aries” I replied smiling cheerfully, she really knows how to make someone smile. I entered my car and Aries entered too and I drove out of the pack house to go back to my mansion…Aries and I have work to do. “Miss we got a letter from five other werewolf realms and all were saying the same thing” Aries informed few seconds away from the pack house as I drove carefully. “What did it say?” I asked calmly, obviously not surprised that the Alphas in the other werewolf realms were against me. “The Alphas from these five realms are accusing you of holding their pack members hostage” Aries announced, as I laughed to the surprise of Aries who didn't imagine that I would react to the news this way. “Hostage?” I asked rhetorically with another round of laughter, trying so hard to conceal more outbursts of laughs. “Are these werewolves stupid or what?” I asked again rhetorically biting my lower lip in disbelief. “They have already summoned you to the East werewolf council miss” Aries added as we just entered my mansion and I headed to the garage to park my car. “why didn't they summon me to the west werewolf council where I am the Abula General…were they scared?” I asked rhetorically with a smirk on my lips as we both got down from my car. “Miss I would have the chef get you your favorite flutter wave berry and a bottle of champagne…you must be exhausted” Aries said affectionately. “No dear…we have work to do” I said as Aries immediately understood what I meant and we both headed for my office. “What do we know currently about my ex husband's werewolf realm?” I asked as Aries helped open my office door. “His realm was recently ranked the sixth successful werewolf realm this year, his wife that he quickly married after your death has not been performing her social duties and responsibilities to the realm as the Luna and she hasn't given him a child yet, she has been on various occasions accused of abusing the servants in their mansion, she's what you would describe as a spoilt daughter from a rich home and also his realm is suffering from drought, their crops are dying because of this which is slowly pointing towards the coming of famine in the realm.” Aries narrated lightly as I sat down comfortably on my office chair playing with my pen as I listened carefully. “So his vulnerable right now…” I said with a smirk on my lips. “He has drastically lost everything he had achieved…I bet he's going crazy thinking of how to rise once more, too bad he would never rise again…he has bitten more than he can chew now he will have to loose his teeth as punishment” i said in my wolf Arya's voice as a wicked smile escaped the corner of my lips. “How are the preparations for the wolf festival going…the festival is tomorrow”I said looking at Aries with my eyes gesturing for her to tell me the details of everything. “ Since the wolf festival is a festival where we celebrate the young pups in the realm that just recently wolfed out, I thought of asking the chef to make cakes, biscuits, cookies in the shape of a wolf even some of the gifts that would be shared tomorrow would be in a wolf shape….we organize games like the fastest pup to shift to their werewolf form, the fastest kid to win a race in their wolf form and give the winner a prize, give scholarships to the best five students in each class…also many more video games to play” Aries explained clearly as i nodded slowly with a satisfied smile. “And also miss…Alpha Caleb is coming for the festival tomorrow” Aries announced grining from ear to ear and I wondered why. “So?” I asked not showing any atom of concern as I went through my files on my laptop. Alpha Caleb is one of my very good Allies, he has stood by me and also helped vote me in as the Abula General of the West werewolf council…he's a good friend and a very handsome one too. “Nothing..miss, I just thought I should inform you…? She added smiling more sweetly. “Okay Aries we're done love…you could go and continue the preparations for tomorrow festival…I want everything on point, many Alphas would be attending this festival mainly to criticize me and my realm so let's prove them wrong” I instructed as I raised my eyes from my laptop to still see her smiling widely. “Of course miss” she assured as she left my office still smiling. I don't know what she's thinking but whatever it was…it wasn't the case, Alpha Caleb and I are were close the few times we met but other than that there's nothing more…but Aries thinks otherwise. ************************************************ “Wow…you look so beautiful miss..!!!” Aries exclaimed as her eyes scanned my royal blue body hugging gown as it clinged to my body and my curves as if it was dependent on my curves to stay relevant. “I bet you would be the most beautiful tonight…all those power-drunken Alphas would be left speechless with no more evil words to say about you once they set their eyes on you rather they would join me and appreciate the moon goddess's creation” she praised the more as I kept smiling while i admired myself in the mirror…my light makeup was really so beautiful together with my diamond ear rings and necklace…I must say I looked so breathtaking. “Why are you not ready yet?” I asked Surprised that she wasn't dressed up yet. “Miss…I was so busy with the chef today so we finished late…but don't worry before you get to the festival ground I would be on my way already” Aries answered slowly. “I didn't even get to see your gown for the festival” I complained with my eyebrows slightly raised. “There's something you are not telling me…young lady” I persisted as I suspected there was more than she was telling. “Okay…miss, Beta Alfred promised to get me a dress for the festival…he insisted that I put on the dress he gets for me for tonight's event, he would soon arrive here with the dress any minute from now” Aries explained shyly avoiding my gaze. “I have always knew about you and Beta Alfred so it's nothing new” I said as she looks at me in shock. “Miss you knew?? When? How??” She asked all at once as I smile broadly, Alfred is a good member of the pack and the realm, he has been my Beta since I became the Alpha of this pack and he has been loyal, a very handsome tall brave warrior in battle..he has saved my life not once or twice, his counsel are always the best, i am glad he's in a relationship with Aries. “ Never mind my darling Aries…Alfred is a good man, if he makes you happy…I am happy” I assured her sweetly as i looked into her eyes lovingly. “Get the limo ready love…I'm off for the festival” I instructed admist smiles. “Yes miss” Aries said smiling broadly as she hurried out of my room. ************************************************ As I made my way into the festival ground everyone was merry, which instantly gladdened my heart.. children were playing different games, some were swimming while others were having some fun time with their parents. Some Alphas came to pay respect to me, while I was responding to their greetings and enquiring about the well-being of their various werewolf realms, I saw him…. yes him, he hasn't changed one bit since the last time I'd set my eyes on him, his broad shoulders and intimidating height seem to take me into a trance of imaginations that would never become a reality, his brown eyes somehow made the night more beautiful and his sexy pink lips that positioned so well that any lady could go nuts for, not to mention his pointed nose that complimented his handsome facial looks… “ohh what a mannn” I had whispered under my breath as he approached me, while I tried to comport myself and get my female ego together. “You look good Lyra” Caleb said so casually looking me directly in the eyes with a smirk playing on his lips. “Good!!? Good!!?? What the hell does he mean by looking good?? For the moon goddess's sake I know I look more than Good this night.why did he have to make his compliment so simple and sooooo annoying!!!??” I screamed in my mind with my facial expression as calm as a stagnant water. “You don't look bad yourself” I finally voiced out while cussing his guts in my mind, where is Arya my wolf whenever I need her…she would have tackled Caleb and put him in his place. “I’ve never looked bad Elizabeth” he said huskily and so confidently that he could win an award for the most confident werewolf in all the realms…and how dare he address me by my human name, ugghh it's his guts for me…what a jerk. “See you around Caleb” I said sharply trying to be the first to dismiss him before he tries to dismiss me first… as I made to go to the ladies restroom, I must protect my ego at least. “The ladies restroom is this way Missy” he said with a mocking smirk on his lips. He must have realized I was trying to get away from him and use the restroom as an excuse but how did he know I was planning on going to the bathroom…did he use his mind link on me or what and why in goddess's name did I forget the way to the ladies restroom. “Ahhh yes…thank you for the reminder Alpha Caleb” I said smiling so weirdly already embarrassed and not ready to say another word apart from what I just said. “Anytime Elizabeth” he said in a hoarse voice with his eyes looking directly in my eyes and scanning my body at the same time as I left him to meet Aries…I didn't bother about the restroom again. “Miss I have been looking for you since I arrived” Aries said with relief in her eyes. “I'm fine dear…you look so gorgeous in your outfit, Alfred sure knows what looks good on you, royal blue suits you so well and your curves in this dress are so sexy” I said as I kept turning to get a better view of her dress. “Thank you miss…but that's not the reason why I have been looking for you since I got to the festival ground” Aries said in a more serious tone as I immediately paid attention to what she was about to say. “It's about Alpha Lucan…your ex husband, he's currently looking for charity donations, funds to carry out his realms day to day activities, as we speak he has sent letters to all the realms for them to send their support but so far none of the other realms has sent any form of help his way” Aries explained quickly. “Very wonderful…this is our chance to enter into the game and play” I said with an evil smile in my wolf Arya's voice, she comes out only when it involves revenge. “Quickly prepare our travelling items and accessories we're going to Dragon Realm tomorrow morning to offer our support” I said with a glimpse of a wicked smirk playing on my lips. “Yes miss” Aries answered almost immediately as she rushed off to the parking lot to drive back to my mansion and start packing our things.
