Ari went down to the kitchen with Lachlan. “Okay this is Brie and Ariel and they will help you with anything you need. I have to go back to work.” “Hi, I’m Arianna,” Ari said with a wave. Ari looked at the two young girls stand in front of her and she was intimidated by them. They were gorgeous. “I’m Brie,” the beautiful, tall redhead told her. “Oh I would have assumed you were Ariel,” Ari said trying to make a joke. “Why?” She asked with a blank face. The one apparently called Ariel laughed, “Cause of the Disney movie, my mom did in fact name me after that movie. I just don’t have the red hair like Brie does.” Ari giggled along with her. “So what are you guys doing?” She asked, “We are finishing up dishes and then going to start on lunch.” “Okay, I’m not going to get in your way, I am going to check on the pantry, if you could point me in the right direction.” “Well the pantry is pretty empty,” Ariel said. “So how are you guys making dinner for all of those people?” “Well generally we order out for dinner.” “How much does that cost?” Ari asked. “I don’t know the alp- I mean Mr. Anderson always orders. Unless only a few people are here we usually don’t make dinner. Just breakfast and lunch.” “Can I ask how old you two are, you seem awfully young, that or I’m just getting really old.” “Your not old, we graduated last year. We are eighteen we are om-“ Brie suddenly stopped talking. “You are what?” “We are teenagers.” Ariel said. Ari looked at them oddly. “Do you girls not go to school?” Ari could see yearning on Ariel’s face and indifference on Brie’s. “No we graduated and work here now,” Brie said. “Okay, keep working. Im going to talk with Mr. Anderson.” Ari went to leave but Ariel’s hand grabbed her, “We aren’t in trouble are we?” She asked fearfully. Ari looked at both of the girls I shock, they were both afraid. “What? No! Of course not, you both seem like sweet girls. I just need to talk to Mr. Anderson, if he wants us to put three meals on the table for all of these people we need actual food. And I’m definitely not paying for it!” The girls relaxed as Arianna smiled at them, “so do what you normally do, I will probably be gone for awhile shopping.” They both nodded as she left. Ari found her way back to Lachlan’s office where she knocked on the door. “Arianna is something wrong already?” “Yes there is, can I come in?” “Oh yes, of course,” Lachlan directed her to a chair as he closed the door and sat down in the office. “Well there’s a couple of things. I understand that you order in for dinner most every evening.” “That’s right. I was hoping to save cost to have you and those two helping cut cost.” “Well sir a few things seem to be concerning me.” “We can talk about anything.” “Well neither of those girls want to work as maids. They both want to go to college, but I don’t understand what’s holding them back.” “They aren’t allowed to leave to go to school,” Lachlan says with finality. “Why not?” “Because that’s not the way things are done here!” He said raising his voice. It scared Arianna, and she jumped in her seat. “Sh.it I’m sorry,” he tried to apologize but Arianna was already leaving. “Look I don’t understand what’s going on in this place. But I don’t want any part of it.” “Arianna wait. I’m sorry they can of course leave anytime they want. The closest college is over one hundred miles away.” Lachlan said trying to placate her. “There are online schools,” Arianna said stiffly. “I will bring it up with them after dinner, please sit down, unless that was your only concern.” “No, since we will be cooking I think I will need another helper. Especially if the girls start going to school, even part time. Also I need money, I need to go shopping.” Lachlan laughed, “Why am I not surprised?” Arianna huffed. “Fine you get to come with me then.” Lachlan looked shocked. “What me?” Ari nodded, “Yup a trip to Sam’s with all of the stuff I need with definitely require some help.” Lachlan pov Lachlan found himself in the middle of Sam’s following his mate around with a large cart. The quick meeting before they left almost ended in disaster. Werewolves almost never went to college. The only exceptions were the wolves that wanted to become doctors, or accountants. He was going to have to have a talk with Ariel and Brie. Lachlan was also going to find another omega and help out in the kitchens. Arianna was right, just by looking at all of this food he could tell she would need more help. “You have a large freezer I’m assuming?” Ari asked him. Lachlan nodded and then Ari processed to fill the chart with enormous amounts of red meat. She had asked him earlier what her favorite meal was, and he responded with lasagna. Lachlan couldn’t help but smile at the amount of food that was being put in the cart. It was going to cost a fortune, but in the long run cheaper than ordering out. They rang out and Lachlan almost had a heart attack over the price of groceries. “Two thousand dollars!” He practically yelled. Arianna scoffed, “Well what did you expect? We cleaned out the meat department.” “What do you need those damn beans for anyway? Who wants beans?” Arianna laughed, “Me? I personally hate beans. But they are a good source of iron and protein. You told me I’m feeding young males. Chili or ham and beans along with sandwiches is a good lunch.” Lachlan was impressed, “I thought you said you weren’t a good cook?” “No I said I was an okay cook. And my grandparents raised my parents during the Great Depression. It’s how you feed fifteen kids.” Lachlan was trying to do the math in his head. “My parents were some of the youngest, my dad was born in 1959, but my oldest uncle whose living anyway was born in 1934.” Lachlan was interested in hearing more, but they had to load up the groceries. “Hurry up, we have to make one more stop before heading back.” ********* Lachlan was in his office with Brie and Ariel. Arianna had just left to go pick up her children from school. “Do you know why you are here?” Lachlan looked at them both. Ariel looked terrified, while Brie looked less so. “No alpha,” they chimed in unison. “How was the Luna’s first day?” “Good,” they both replied. “All right, how did the topic of school get brought up?” Lachlan asked. Ariel looked scared, she looked to Brie. “The Luna said we looked young. We told her we graduated and work here now. She asked us if we wanted to continue our schooling. We said no.” Lachlan leaned back sighing, “But you want to don’t you?” Lachlan looked to Ariel who started to cry. Damn it, had he really become this cruel without a Luna by his side? “Yes! And to think you were going to reject her!” Thor shouted at him. “Submit online schools you want to go to for my approval. I need you two experienced omegas during this transition. I also need another one, Brie can you recommend another one?” “Yes of course thank you Alpha!” Brie cried. They both started to leave the office. “When will dinner be here?” “Oh Um, the Luna prepared dinner before she left. She gave us specific instructions, so we shouldn’t mess it up. Thank you again alpha,” Ariel said before leaving. That was the first time that girl had talked to him in three years, definitely progress. Lachlan smiled, he was definitely excited to see what Arianna made for dinner tonight. Authors note if anyone is interested that is actually my family. My dad I think is number 11 out of 15, and my mom is 11 out of 12. My uncles favorite dinner to this day is chicken neck and feet. (Barf)
