CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR –––––––– DARCY WINCED AND WOKE up cursing. She yawned, mostly with annoyance. That persistent ringing in her ears had eventually managed to ruin her sleep, although she had done her best to ignore it. Darcy’s head was pounding, and her eyes stung. ‘That damn wine,’ Darcy reflected. She experienced the effects of a full hangover, and nausea rose in her throat alarmingly, making her swallow hard.
