CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE

DINNER TURNED INTO a boisterous affair. Everybody talked and laughed. Diane asked lots of questions about the twins, and Kate and Ryan regaled them with some of the kids’ mischiefs.
“I’ll turn white before my time,” Ryan confessed, laughing. “Special Ops, guys? That’s nothing, believe me. Try to raise twins. Thank God for Kate,” he said, brushing his lips over his wife’s fingers.
“She’s got enough patience for both of us. I used to think that no one could make my blood pressure go up but Kate. Now, I know better.”
