The bodyguard threw the phone and removed Ruby's oxygen mask. It dashed her hopes and possiblity to live.
"No, please... That's Daddy... I want Daddy..." Ruby cried desperately. Her sobs aggravated her wounds and viscera. It caused her to vomit blood. Her breath weakened rapidly.
"Daddy, will I see you? Mommy said you are a superhero..." Until her last breath, Ruby murmured this phrase.
Seeing this, the medical staff at the door couldn't stop their tears. Their hearts ached with empathy. Many of them wanted to call the police, but they feared the Roberts family's influence. They could only led them to sigh in resignation.
They only hoped for the child's father to really appear at that very moment!
Just then, the sky was suddenly filled with the whir of helicopter blades!
The entire hospital staff rushed out. Through the windows, those in the emergency room saw a military helicopter descend vertically. It crushed cars beneath it as it landed on the parking lot in front of the hospital.
Thud! A tall, striking man kicked open the helicopter's door. Dressed in military uniform with five stars, he exuded an earth-shattering presence. He leaped out and headed straight for the hospital, shouting, "Ruby, Daddy's back!"
Following him was the Thunderbolt Squad, personally selected and trained. They also jumped out of the helicopter and headed straight to the hospital.
Soon, Jonathan appeared at the emergency room door. When he saw his daughter lying bloody on the hospital bed and barely breathing, he completely broke down. His heart was in extreme pain.
"Daddy, is that you? You’re finally here! Wow... My superhero daddy has come back for me..." On the bed, Ruby was on the brink of death. She turned her tiny head towards Jonathan with a sweet smile. Jonathan stood at the door with tears streaming down his face. Their dimples were almost identical.
"Ruby, my daughter..." Jonathan trembled so intensely. Tears streamed uncontrollably down his face.
Five years of paternal love filled Jonathan with rage and self-blame!
"Daddy, Mommy said you were a superhero and you would come back to protect me. I'm no longer a fatherless child. I'm so happy," Ruby said with a smile. Then her eyes slowly closed. The monitor began to beep continuously with a long, flat signal.
The medical staff at the door could only shake their heads.
'Poor guy. He's too late. The little girl meets her father in her final moments. But just as he's within reach, they're about to be separated once again.'
"Ah!" Jonathan let out an anguished roar, emitting an overwhelming fury. He barged into the room and punched three bodyguards in his path. He sent them flying through the window with three successive thuds, and they fell in pools of blood.
Then, with a plop, Jonathan fell to one knee before the bed. Tears streamed down his cheeks as he tenderly stroked Ruby's forehead. "Ruby, Daddy's here. Open your eyes and look at Daddy, please!"
With a "spurt," dark blood sprayed out of his mouth. Jonathan's spirit was in turmoil, and his long-suppressed injuries were bursting forth. "Ruby! My daughter! I won't let you die! Daddy won't let you die!"
Jonathan's roar resounded like a howl to the sky. He then lifted blood-soaked, unconscious Ruby from the bed and clutched her tightly to his chest.
"Bang!" Suddenly, the emergency room door burst open with several bodyguards holding baseball bats. On seeing Jonathan and his squad, they bellowed, "Damn it! Attack! Defy Mr. Roberts' orders, and you're dead!"
Jonathan's eyes blazed red. His boundless rage and murderous intent erupted. "Kill them!"
His roaring resounded throughout the hospital!
Without even needing Jonathan's intervention, the Thunderbolt Squad swiftly disposed of the bodyguards.
Within moments, the bodyguards was slashed at the neck, and fell in pools of their own blood. Some medical staff had collapsed in fright, but now stood firm. Driven by their professional duty, they rushed into the room and decided to save Ruby!
Jonathan stumbled and sprayed a mouth of dark blood again. He fell on his knees, clutching Ruby close.
"General!" The captain of the Thunderbolt Squad, Benjamin West, quickly supported Jonathan. Blood spurted continuously from Jonathan's mouth as he stared red-eyed out the door and ordered, "Relay my orders! The Navy Secret Special Forces are to depart from the base now. Head to Yonderville at maximum speed!"
With that, Jonathan's head dropped, and he passed out with Ruby in his arms. The blood from his mouth dripped onto Ruby, mingling with her own. At that moment, the Thunderbolt Squad was consumed with fury.
"General, we're on our way!"
"General, wait for us!"
Meanwhile, a hundred thousand soldiers at the island base received the order, and the military review was immediately canceled. The navy, air, and land forces, fully armed, rushed from the sky, the sea, and the bridge towards Yonderville in the Eastvale Military District!
