CHAPTER 8
On the way to Mona’s house, Mona decided to go by and check on Beth. When Sharon opened her door, she smiled and said, “Hi,” to Manny and gave Mona a hug, as she asked about Jewel.
“Hi,” said Manny.
“Mom is still in a coma. She has a brain tumor. They are going to keep her in a coma until she can be operated on. The doctor has sent for a surgeon. She will probably be operated on next week,” said Mona.
Beth came into the room with Erin. As soon as she saw Mona, she burst into tears and ran over and hugged her. Mona held her close and comforted her while she cried. “I’m sorry. I didn’t know Mom was so sick. I know I shouldn’t have come over to Erin’s without talking to you or Dad first. I was being very selfish and only thinking about myself. I’m sorry,” said Beth.
