Chapter 10

4003 Words
Once the jet landed, I stood up and waited for the ramp to open. I walked off of it, automatically looking around for the one person I knew wouldn't lie to me. One red head from Russia, Natasha, seemed to have seen me first though, since she was walking towards me. "Do you know where they took him?" She asked me in Russian. I looked around before answering her. "I'm not going to rest until I find him. You got my back?" I asked her. "Of course. Do what you need to do. I'll cover for you." Natasha said with a smirk. I glanced behind me to see Steve and Coulson walking down the ramp. "I'll be in the lab." I informed her. She gave me a quick nod and walked past me to meet Coulson and Steve. I looked around, then opened a portal into the lab. I looked around, it was empty. No one was around. I went over to one of the monitors and signed in. I looked around and smirked. Purple mist was soon floating around me and the monitor. I was using my magic to perform a scan. I wasn't looking for Loki, I was looking for Papa Clint. I smirked seeing that he was last spotted heading underground. I knew then that they had a secret lab he was using. I signed off the computer and walked out of the lab and towards the bridge. I walked onto the bridge to see Steve, Natasha and Bruce Banner walking in. Natasha looked at me. I gave her a small nod, letting her know that I had some information. "Gentlemen." Fury greeted them. I watched as Bruce walked past me and towards the science console. Taking his place at the head of it. I watched as Steve handed Fury ten bucks. I rolled my eyes at him. I walked over to Natasha. She was looking at a picture of Clint. "We'll get him back." I said to her. She looked at me and smiled just a little. "He means a lot to both of us," Nat said to me. I nodded, knowing he meant just as much to me as he did to her. "He's my Papa Clint. I owe it to him and to his family to get him back here safely." I told her. She laid her hand on my shoulder. "I know. Trust me, I know." Natasha said, agreeing with me. I sighed and walked off. I needed a minute to myself. I opened a portal and stepped through. I was in the woods, back home in Forks. I looked out towards the house I grew up in. It still looked the same as if nothing had chanced. I sighed and walked out into the open. I walked to the front door and knocked. Waiting for him to come to the door. The door opened, and there he stood in front of me. He looked shocked to see me. Since it was the first time he had seen me since I left all those years ago. "Jade?" He asked in shock. "Hi, Dad." I said to him shyly. He pulled me into a tight hug before pulling away. "Please come in, I was just talking to your sister," Charlie said. He led the way in. Right there in the living room were, Jacob, Bella, Edward, Seth, Leah, Mrs. Clearwater and a girl with Bella's chocolate brown eyes but with Edwards' hair. They all looked at me shocked. "Jade. Um hi." Bella said to me, a little awkward. She now had golden eyes. I smiled and waved at them all. "I can't stay long. I'm not even really supposed to be here. I just had to warn you," I said. They all looked at me. I had no idea how much I had missed all of them until I was looking at them. "Things in the world are not what they seem. My mother wasn't just a human. She's a goddess, a queen actually. She is Queen of Asgard. I have a half brother. Thor, God of Thunder. That's not why I came though. Look, things are about to get really messed up and the world is about to change. I can't promise that I'll be able to come back. Just know that I will be there when it all goes down defending the world. I just had to come back, even if it was for the last time," I said to them. Really hating that this might be goodbye. "What do you mean, Jade?" Charlie asked, confused. "Aliens are coming to Earth. I didn't put an application in to work with SHIELD. Fury came to me and asked me if I would be interested in joining something. A group, of the mightest. They have me, The Hulk, Captain America, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Iron Man and Thor. Together we are the Earth's mightest defenders. Fury only hired me so he could keep a closer eye on me." I said to them. "So Aliens are coming to Earth? And your going to fight them? How do you know they don't come in peace?" Seth asked innacently. I looked at him and smiled. "I wish they did. Unfortunately, they don't. They're led by Loki, God of Mishchief. He took Clint and Eric. He's a friend of mine. And because of that he'll pay," I said to them. My crystal ball lit up. I looked at it to see Natasha trying to find me. "Jade, come on. I can't cover for you forever. I know you have information. Just come out of your hiding place. Are you getting Clint? Did you find him?" Natasha was saying while walking down the corridor of the helicarrier. I frowned, knowing I had to go. "That's my que. Natty can't hold Fury off forever." I said to them. A portal opened up behind me. I looked at Charlie, hoping it wasn't going to be my last time. "You came back here, and let me know you are safe." Charlie said. "Don't worry. I've already fought Loki once. I'm dying for a rematch." I joked before walking into the portal. I was soon standing in front of Natasha. She jumped back just a little, not expecting me. "Where did you go?" She asked me. "Home." was the only thing said to her. She was the only other one beside Clint to know about Forks still being my home. She knew I missed it but she also knew I liked being here and away from there. I was about to say something when some agents walked by. "Papa Clint was last seen heading into an old underground lab. That was a day ago. Who knows if he is even still there," I said to her in Russian. Not wanting anyone to over hear us. "Can you check it out?" She asked me. I shook my head no. "Why not?" She looked at me confused. "For one, I still can't see inside of it. Meaning I have no idea how many hostiles there are. Reason two, Papa Clint would be expecting me to do something rash just to get him back." I answered her. Clint knew I could be impulsive and he also knew that I did stupid things, so he would be expecting me. "He would be expecting you," Natasha confirmed. "We'll get him back, don't worry." I comferted her. We walked back onto the bridge. They were running the face trace. Looking for any sign of Loki. The captain and Coulson were talking, Fury was watching everyone. "We got a hit. Sixty-seven percent match. Weight, cross match, seventy-nine percent," Sitwell called out. "Location?" Coulson asked immediately. Natasha and I looked at each other. We were about to get Clint back or at least get the guy that had him. "Struttgart, Germany. 28, Konigstrasse. He's not exactly hiding," he said. "Captain, you're up." Fury said before looking at me and Natasha. "Jade, you will be staying here. Natasha will go and co-piolt." Fury ordered us. "Yes, sir." Natasha said. I looked at her. She looked at me almost as if she was apologizing. I just shook my head, knowing she had no control over what Fury did. "Sir, I should be going." I argued with him. Fury looked at me, not surprised that I had the nerve to question him. "I need you here. That's finale." Fury demanded. Ending all the arguments I could come up with. I looked at Natasha before stomping off towards the lab. I walked into the lab to see Dr. Banner looking at one of the monitors. "You must be Dr. Banner." I said, making him jump out of surprise. "Sorry. Didn't mean to scare you." I apologized while walking over to another monitor and signing in. Dr. Banner was watching me. "I've heard about you. Your the Violet Witch, Right?" Dr. Banner asked. "Yeah, that's me." I confirmed before looking at the monitor. Purple mist started to float around my hands. I used my magic to get into the security videos around the Stuttgart Museum. I watched as people were entering the building. Nothing seemed out of place. I switched to the camera inside the Museum. Everything seemed normal at the moment. I looked at my wrist, turning the little radio that was in my right glove on. I held my hand up towards my mouth. "Black Widow, do you copy?" I asked. "I copy." Natasha's voice came through my radio. Letting me know she had me linked to the jet. "Good, I have eyes on him. He is inside the museum. Just standing there watching." I let her know. "Copy that. Keep an eye on him, let us know if anything changes." Natasha said, the static that came from the radio was annoying, but then again I had always thought it was annoying. "You got it." I agreed as I watched Loki. I looked at my other monitor that was showing me the front of the museum. The guards were there in the same position I left them in. I watched as one of the guards fell off the roof. With an arrow sticking out of his chest. "S**t." I said. I held my wrist up so I could radio Natasha. "Black Widow, Hawkeye is armed and on the move. He just took out the guards." I informed her, letting her know that he was armed and dangerous. I knew she could handle him if needed, but I hoped it wouldn't come down to that. "S**t! How do I find him?" Natasha asked me, forgetting the original mission. "You don't, Fury gave orders. We have to stick to them. Get Loki, Hawkeye is sure to follow." I said, knowing Fury was listening. "What's Loki doing now?" Natasha asked. I looked over to my other monitor to see Loki smiling mischiefly at the now scattering guest as he held the lead doctor down with an optical torture device. "He's using an optical torture device, on the lead doctor. My guess is Hawkeye is after the Irridum that the museum is housing." I told her. Not really wanting to watch the torture of the poor man. "Copy that." Nat said. I watched the monitor as Loki walked out of the museum. Asgardian Armor materializes, changing him out of the nice black suit he had been wearing. He was holding a scepter. I watched as illusions of him surrounded the frightened crowd. "He has cavalians trapped in front of the museum." I informed Natasha. "We are almost there, keep an eye on him." Natasha told me. I watched as he talked to the people in front of him. An elderly man stood up. I watched in horror as Loki pointed his scepter at the man. He sent a blast of blue energy towards the man. I gasped, thinking the man would die, but luckily, Steve fell in front of the man with his shield at the ready, saving the man's life. "Good timing." I said while taking a calming breath. I knew Steve could hear me as well. I watched as Loki and the Captain duked it out. Loki seemed to be stronger than the Captain, but Steve did hold his own. I watched as Iron Man flew in and blasted Loki on his ass. I laughed at that. "Good job, Tony." I celebrated, knowing Tony would be able to hear me as well. I watched as he pulled out every piece of weaponry his suit had and pointed it at Loki. I smirked and watched as Loki surrendered. Something was off though. Why did he surrender? I stopped my magic and logged out of the system. "Widow, Let me know if he says anything? Something seemed off. He surrendered too easily. He could easily deflect every weapon that Tony threw at him. But yet he surrendered. He's planning something." I informed her, knowing Fury, Hill, Steve and Tony were listening. "Copy that." Natasha said back. I sighed and slumped on the desk. Banner was looking at me. I was about to say something but noticed my staff's crystal ball lighted up. I had placed it by the door of the lab when I first walked in. Banner saw it as well. I raised one of my eyebrows and got up from my stool, walking over to my staff. Banner walked closer to see why it lit up. It was showing us, Heimdall, Thor and an older guy along with a beautiful, elegant blonde woman. The older man sat on a chair fit for a king. He had silver hair and an eyepatch. I knew he was Odin. The woman next to him I could only assume was Frigga, my mother. "Heimdall, what's going on? Why do you want me to see this?" I asked, knowing he was listening. He smiled and looked at Frigga and Odin. Thor seemed to get the hint when Heimdall smiled and returned the smile. "Sister, I am on my way, I'll see you soon." Thor said before the ball's light went out. I gasped and smiled. Bringing my wrist up, I was about to say something when I heard Fury's voice ask if Loki had said anything yet. Natasha told him no. "Help is on the way," I informed them. No one replied, so I looked into my staff's ball to give me a full view of the inside of the jet. Lightning was striking and thunder was rolling. I knew Thor would be there soon. Fury walked into the lab and looked at me. "What do you mean Help is on the way?" Fury demanded. I glanced up at him and smirked. "The God Thunder will be here soon," I said before turning my eyes back to the ball. Fury walked up and looked at the ball to see what I was looking at. When the jet ramp opens and Thor walks in, he grabs Loki and flies out. I shook my head and switched my ball's view to Thor. They landed on a mountain top. I muted the ball because I knew they were about to have a heart to heart and I did not want Fury or Banner listening in. I gasped when Tony flew in and grabbed Thor. I shook my head but kept my ball's view on Loki. Not wanting to take the chance of losing him. "Get there, make sure he doesn't escape. And stop them from killing each other," Fury commanded, before turning on his heels and stomping out. I smirked and snapped my figures, making a portal to the mountain top open. Banner watched me as I backed up into the portal before closing it. I was soon standing on the mountain top looking over the land, watching Tony and Thor. I sighed and shook my head. Loki cleared his throat but I didn't bother looking at him. Instead, I looked at the two in front of me as they fought. Purple mist moved from my hands and moved at a fast pace towards the two of them. Captain America had just got there and Thor was about to hit his hammer on the shield, but stopped mid air. They all seemed frozen. I picked the other two up with my magic and brought them back to the mountain top once they were all in front of me and Loki. I sat them all on the ground gently but did not unfreeze them. Steve looked shocked, as did Thor. I used my magic to retract Tony's helmet, making all three of them look at me. "Tony, Cap. Meet my half brother Thor. Thor, Cap and Tony. Now stop fighting because we're all on the same side and you all look like a bunch of idiots." I scolded them, keeping them in place. Loki stood up from where he sat and looked at me. "You seem stronger than our last encounter we had. I'm not sorry about trying to kill you though. You got in my way." Loki arrogantly said. I turned and looked at him, sending him a glare before using my magic to mute him. I smirked and turned back towards the three men I had frozen still. Natasha landed the jet and walked out. "Well, I see who is in charge, now. Is this the help you were referring to?" Natasha asked as she walked over to me before grabbing Loki and taking him to the ship. "You can lecture them on the jet, come on. Fury is waiting." Natasha said as she walked away. "I'm letting you go. Get on the jet and not a single word or I will mute you as I've done to Loki." I threatened them. The purple mist vanished and they all slumped forward. Tony was grumbling under his breath while Steve sighed and walked behind him and onto the ship. Thor smiled and looked at me. I pointed towards the jet. Acting as if I was mad. He chuckled but walked towards the jet. I followed behind him. I shut the ramp and walked over to Natasha. "Fury know your here?" She asked, knowing I had a problem with following commands. "He's the one that sent me," I told her. "Everything is under control, on our way back." I informed Fury. "Can you open a portal to get here faster?" Fury asked, annoyed. I knew I could, but I liked pissing him off. "Nope." I said, popping the 'p'. He gave back radio silence. Nat glanced at me, but said nothing. "Do you always have to piss him off?" She finally asked. "Oh, Natty. I've known Fury longer. Besides, it's not like he will fire me. He wants to keep an eye on me. Best to keep me close," I said, before turning and looking at the three men. Thor was giving me a goofy smile, Cap was shaking his head and Tony was glaring at me. And Loki was looking at me with a question in his eyes. I sighed and waved my hand, unmuting him. "What?" I asked, annoyed. "How were you able to cut my vocal cords?" He asked in pure curiosity. I rolled my eyes. "That's what you want to know?" I asked sarcastically as I rolled my eyes and looked at my brother. His smile fell when he saw my glare, thinking I was really angry at him. "Please forgive me, sister. I meant no harm to your friends. I only came to help as you requested," Thor explained. I rolled my eyes but smiled. "Tony's not my friend." I said simply before smirking at the man child, while Tony rolled his eyes at my comment. "Says the know it all," Tony mumbled. "Awe did I hurt the Play Boy's feelings?" I asked in a baby voice. I heard Nat laugh at my comment. I had known Tony for a while now, we weren't friends but we loved to annoy the heck out of each other. Thor and Steve looked between the two of us. "No you didn't," Tony said while pouting. I rolled my eyes and chuckled at his childishness. Steve smiled just a little and shook his head at me. "Jade, get back here. I need you in the lab!" Fury's voice came through the radio. I lifted my wrist and smirked. "Is it Life and Death?" I asked him, not wanting to get back so soon. "Swan! Now!" Fury practically yelled.. I rolled my eyes and walked to where Nat was sitting. "Move." I demanded. She got up, leaving the pilot. He looked at me and gave me full control. I shut the engines off. "Get ready for a bumpy ride," I said. My eyes turned Violet and purple mist filled the air all through out the jet and all around it. We were no longer in the air. Instead, we were parked on the hellacarrier. My magic vanished and I shook my head, knowing that I had just used a lot of energy by not opening a portal but by teleporting us instead. "We're on deck," I informed Fury. With a shaky hand, I opened the ramp, letting the guards in to take Loki to the cell. Fury wanted him in. I leaned my head back and closed my eyes, trying to gain more energy. Nat was kneeling beside my seat. I could feel Thor and Cap standing behind me. "I'm fine." I said weakly without opening my eyes. Nat grabbed my hand, trying to get me to take some of her energy, but I would not. "Jade, take some. You need it. Remember last time when you ran low on energy because the magic took it from you? You had me and Clint worried for a week. Because you wouldn't wake up. Take some of my energy so you won't fall into a week long coma. If your right Loki has something big planned we're going to need you." I felt Cap lay his hand on my shoulder. "Take some of mine too. Natasha is right. We need you." Cap said. When I didn't say anything and I didn't pull their energy, I felt another hand on my shoulder. "Take some of mine, Sister. We are of the same blood. My energy would be better than your friends's." Thor said to me. I could feel his worry. I opened my eyes and looked up at him. I sighed and focused on his eyes, I felt his energy. It was electrifying.I focused on that, taking only what I needed. He kept his eyes on mine, I knew he felt me taping into his energy. Nat and Cap both looked at us but kept their hands on me. I didn't dare take their energy though. I felt myself growing stronger, so I closed my eyes, shutting the connection down. I sighed and stood up. Nat stood up and looked at me. "You good?" She asked, worried. "I'll be fine. Thank you for trying to help. But Thor is right, I can not take energy from you or Cap. Cap may have the super soldier serum and you have some type of serum that the red room gave you. But in order not to fall into a week-long coma, as you call it. I can only siphon energy from another god." I explained, switching from English to Russian back to English. Thor looked at me in question when I did. I knew he understood what I had said, but I also knew he wouldn't say anything about it. And Cap looked at me, questioning, wondering what I had just said. Nat gave me a small smile, grateful I didn't say it in English. I knew she was ashamed of her past and really wanted to forget all about it. "Come on, Fury waits." I said to them. I linked my arm with Thor's and pulled him from the jet. He chuckled but walked with me, Nat and Steve walked behind us.
