Jasper's gaze flickers, tracing my features like he is memorizing them. And then, slowly, his hand lifts. I don't move. I barely breath as his fingers brush against my cheek, featherlight. Then, he tucks a loose strand of my hair behind my ear. His touch lingers just a second too long. My pulse slams against my ribs. Jasper's hand doesn't drop immediately. Instead, his fingers trail down, barely grazing the side of my neck before he pulls away. That is it. Just that small, simple touch. And yet, I feel like the ground has tilted beneath me.
