Chapter 5 pt.2

Rafael’s P.O.V

I’m under the cold shower to calm my nerves. This is so f*ck*ng messed up! I can’t stop myself from kissing her and do those things to her, like what happened a month before. But this time, I was the one who kissed her. I want to tease her for a bit, but why it end up like that? Just why? F*ck! Napasuklay ako ng buhok ko. Napatingin ako sa baba at napabuntong hininga. I need to take care of it quickly.

After 15 minutes, natapos akong maligo(kasama kung anong ritual ang nangyari sa loob ng banyo) nagbihis ako at napakunot noo ako ng marinig ang boses Alvin na nangingibabaw. Lumabas ako at nakita ko na hawak ni Alvin ang kamay ni Althea. Hindi ko alam kung bakit naginit ang ulo ko.

" Keep your hands off my wife, Alvin." Sumandal ako sa hamba ng pintuan. Lahat sila napatingin sakin. Nakita ko ang pagnganga ni Alvin.

"W-wife? Asawa?" Hindi makapaniwalang sabi ni Alvin. Napaikot ang mata ko at lumapit sa kanila. Hinila ko ang kamay ni Althea mula kay Alvin.

“Yes, wife. Asawa! You have your own.” Umupo ako sa tabi ni Althea. She looks so stiff. Of course, who will not feel awkward when we happen to make out on the sofa earlier before these people barge in.

“You have a beautiful wife, Rafael. Congrats! If you told us beforehand, we should’ve brought some wine!” Nakangiting sabi ni Jan. Tipid na ngumiti lang ako. Hindi ko naman din inaasahan ang kasal na nangyari. Also, she’s not the girl I want to marry.

“I hope you like the ring, Althea.” Napatingin ako kay Ralph. Nakita ko kung paano nangingislap ang mata ni Ralph na nakatingin kay Althea. Napakunot noo ako. Tinignan naman ni Althea ang singsing na suot niya. I ignored the ring I bought from Ralph last night. Hinayaan ko na siya ang mamili sa mga binebenta niya.

“Yeah, I like it!” Nakangiting sabi ni Althea. I looked at her reaction, and it seems she genuinely likes it. I looked at my ring. It was simple. There is also a design like the infinity at the center. Pasimple kong tinignan yung singsing ni Althea. It was the same design, but it was thinner than mine, and there’s a small diamond at the center. Maganda sa kamay niya.

"Made by yours truly," nakangiting sabi ni Ralph. Napatingin ako sa kaniya. Siya gumawa nito?

"Woah! Ang ganda ng design ahh! Kapag ako ang kinasal dapat maganda din ahh!" Sabi ni Alvin. I rolled my eyes.

"Alvin may balak ka pang ikasal ulit?" Masama ang tingin na tanong ko. Nagkibit balikat siya.

"Malay natin diba?" Napailing na lang ako sa sinabi niya. Napansin ko si Jan na may kausap sa Cellphone.

"Hello, Danielle... Yeah its me, yung asawa mo, magpapakasal daw ulit sa iba na nga lang daw," narinig kong sabi ni Jan. Napangisi ako. Nataranta si Alvin at kinuha niya yung cellphone kay Jan.

“HELLO SWEETHEART! WAG KANG MANIWALA SA SINASABI NILA! HELLO SWEETHEART! PROMISE TOTOO YUNG SINASABI KO!" Tumayo siya at pumunta sa kusina. Napailing na lang kami. Tinignan ko sila.

“So, why are you guys here?” Tanong ko sa kanila.

“Well, Alvin wants to hangout, so Ralph suggested that we hang out in your place, and we didn’t expect to see a girl opened your house door.” Tinignan ko si Ralph. Ngumiti lang siya. He was indirectly telling them that I was married.

"Yeah, right." Sumandal ako sa sandalan ng inuupuan namin. Si Althea ay tahimik lang na pinagmamasadan kami. "Althea nagpakilala na ba sila sayo?" Tanong ko. Tumango siya.

"Yeah, they did." Tumango ako. Well at least hindi ko na sila ipapakilala pa.

“So, saan nyo balak maghoneymoon?” Biglang sulpot ni Alvin sa tabi ko ka ikinagulat ko.

"T*ng*n* mo bro!" Binatukan ko siya. Natawa lang si Jan.

"Sino ba naman kasi hindi matatakot sa mukha mo, Alvin!" Natatawang sabi ni Jan. Napailing na lang ako. May asawa't anak na si Alvin, parang bata kung umasta!

"Nagtatanong lang ako kung saan ang honeymoon! Para masimulan na ang baby making!" Ngingisi-ngising sabi ni Alvin. Napahilot na lang ako ng sintido. Sumasakit ang ulo ko na kausap si Alvin.

"Or baka nauna na ang baby," sabi ni Mike. Tinignan ko siya at ngumisi lang si Mike.

“Oh! You’re pregnant, Althea?” Tanong ni Jan at mukha siyang hindi makapaniwala. Napatinfin ako kay Althea at nakita ko siyang ngumiti at tumango.

"Yes, I am pregnant," sagot niya. Nakita ko na tumango si Jan. Alam naman ni Ralph dahil sa kaniya ko unang sinabi na magpapakasal ako. I looked at Ralph. I wouldn’t say I like his stare at Althea.

“So, let’s celebrate your marriage Rafael!” Sabi ni Jan. “Let’s go to Robins!” Tatanggi sana ako dahil may pasok pa ako bukas ng magsalita si Alvin.

“C’mon! Hindi naman aalis ang company mo! Minsan na lang tayo lumabas because we’re all busy!” Sabi ni Alvin. Tatanggi sana ako pero nagsalita si Althea.

“Yeah, why don’t you go with them and have some fun.” Napatingin ako sa kaniya. Tumingin siya sakin before she smiled. I looked at her, but she looked away. Don’t tell me she feels shy right now?

“Let’s go? Don’t worry, Althea! Hindi naming siya papainumin ng madami,” Nakangiting sabi ni Alvin. I rolled my eyes. Dahil for sure ikaw ang madaming iinumin mamaya. Napailing na lang ako.

“Well, nice meeting you, Althea,”  narinig kong sabi Ralph. I observe Ralph. He is extra attentive today. What’s with him?

Althea’s P.O.V

Kumakain ako ngayon nang niluto ni Rafael para sana sa hapunan namin pero dahil umalis siya kasama ang mga kaibigan niya ako na lang ang kumain magisa. Napatingin ako sa singsing ko. I am married now. It’s not that I don’t want to get married, but the man who married me doesn’t like me. Maybe he wants to be responsible for the baby, but he clearly said that night is a mistake. But it’s a good thing that I have a place for my child and me for the time being. Though, I need to save up money for future purposes. Should I look for work?

Then, I remember my parents. Are they alright? Are they well? Kamusta na kaya si Mama? How about Dad? May sakit kaya siya?

“Should I give them a call? “ Napahimas ako ng tyan ko habang iniisip kung tatawag ba ako o hindi. Kinuha ko ‘yung cellphone ko, tinawagan ko si Mama. Nag ring pero bigla ring naputol. It seems that Dad has Mom’s phone, and he turns it off. Napabuntong hininga ako. Tumayo ako at dinala ang pinagkainan ko sa lababo. Nang makita ko ang mga ginamit ni Rafael sa pagluluto ay napaikot na ang mata ko. I should try washing these dishes. I know I am useless when it comes to house chores, but I need to learn them. No one will help me now because I am not the lady I used to be. I will become a mother, and I need to take care of my child.

I started to use my hands to wash the dishes, and this is harder than I expected! Ang maririnig mo sa kusina ay kalansing ng mga hinuhugasan ko. Hanggang sa makabasag ako ng plato!

“Tsk! I never expect that washing dishes is harder than I thought!” Inis na bulong ko. Not only one plate I broke but two more plates. After a few minutes, I sighed in relief after I finished my job. But it was messy—bubbles around the sink. I looked for something to wipe the bubbles around, and lucky I found some tissue and used it to wipe it. I compile the broken plates, but I cut myself.

“F*ck!” I exclaimed. Damn it! Why am I so clumsy today? I let the water run on my wound. After that, I looked for the medicine kit, but I can’t find it anywhere! I grunted. I manage to throw the broken plates, but I gain more wounds. I sighed. I am so tired even though I just washed the dishes. Paano pa kaya kung maglilinis ako ng buong condo! And while thinking about it, feeling ko mahihilo na ako e! I feel sticky! I still haven’t bathe today, so I want to get a shower first. Lumapit ako sa maleta ko at kumuha ng damit. Pero habang chine-check ko yung gamit ko, my toiletries are missing! Oh my gosh! Napahilot ako ng sintido ko. I don’t have any choice but to use his things. Tomorrow I will buy the things I need.
