Chapter 12: Forming The Core

After two years Layon become more mature, he got taller and his young face replaces by a handsome young man that sometimes obstruct by his yellow hair, his thin body become a bit muscular, his voice deepens, his posture full of confidence, and finally his yellow eyes full of knowledge like he knows everything in this world. The old man didn’t change too much he still wears the same white clothes, and his face still the same just have additional wrinkles, he still has a tattoo on his forehead, and his personality still grumpy. The old man stares at meditating Layon and thought to himself.

‘Times really fly fast it’s already two years since I teach this kid, he changes a lot when I first saw this kid, he looks like he’s going to die if you just touch him a little, but now his full of vigor and confidence looks like I teach him too well’

While the old man is deep in his own thought, Layon feels something different today he feels like something is forming inside his body, then he focuses his attention on the middle part of his body then finally, he notices that something is growing there, the atmosphere change, the wind starts blowing towards Layon, the old man become surprised he notices that Layon’s body is absorbing the element in the surrounding he becomes excited.

“This! Is he finally forming his core? it looks like the time has come for this kid to become an Aura user”

The old man stops talking and just observe quietly while sitting on his stone bed, after a while the old man realizes something odd and frown.

“Something is wrong his core should already form right now, but why his body still absorbing elements in the surrounding? why is it taking so long? “

While Layon is still observing his forming core inside his body, the old man is getting worried and start taking out some book from his system inventory and start reading to understand what kind of phenomenon this is. While the old man is still searching for the book a small shockwave is released from Layon’s body, the old man felt the shockwave and stop reading, Layon slowly opens his eyes and become excited and then become disappointed, the old man becomes worried that something went wrong while Layon is forming his core so he quickly asks Layon.

“Kid what’s wrong did something wrong happen to your core?!”

Layon shook his head and answer.

“No, there’s nothing wrong with it”

“Then why do you look disappointed?”

“It’s because the core was formed in my body”

The old man realizes why Layon is disappointed, in truth, he is also a bit disappointed because he wants the kid to be a Maura user too, but he still cheers Layon up.

“Don’t be too disappointed just be thankful that you finally be able to become an Aura user”

Layon was still a bit disappointed but still smile and replied.

“Yes, teacher!”

After the old man stops being worried, he finally notices something is still not right, the element still being absorbed by Layon’s body.

‘What is this? The kid is already done forming his core but why the element is still being absorbed by him?’

Then finally the old man realizes what is happening and before he can even talk another shock wave is released from Layon it was from his head, the old man becomes truly shocked and stutter while talking.

“T-this is! is that t-that really what I think it is!?”

Layon becomes surprised because this is the first time, he saw the old man stutter on his word.

“What's wrong teacher did something happen to you?”

The old man didn’t answer Layon and said.

“Check your mind see if there’s something there”

Layon becomes confused but he trusts the old man so he just does what the old man said without asking anything, and then he became surprised at what he saw, another core is formed inside of his mind. When Layon is forming his core, he didn’t realize that there’s another core, forming inside of his mind because he is too focus on observing the forming core in his body, he becomes Joyous and answers his teacher with a wide smile.

“Teacher! There’s another core in my mind is that mean I can become a Maura user?”

 When the old man heard what Layon said he becomes speechless for a while, and then he suddenly laughs so loud that it shocked Layon this is also his first time seeing his grumpy teacher laughing so hard, and finally the old man talk.

“HAHAHAHAHA!! Who would have thought that before I die, I will witness the forming of the dual-core?”

Layon is a bit confused about why the old man is happy, but he still smiles for the old man he rarely sees his teacher this happy that’s why he is also happy for him, and then suddenly a blue transparent square appeared right in front of him his a bit surprise but regain his composure quickly, because he already knew what the thing is, and he read the words inside the blue box.

‘Ohh so this is what the system looks like and there’s something written inside”

Layon becomes shocked and screams.

“What!?”

 The old man heard Layon’s scream and finally get out of his shock, and notice Layon looking at something in the air and he realizes what it is, the old man becomes really curious and ask Layon with impatience.

“Why? what did you see in the system?! show me!”

Layon is confused and asks the old man.

“Teacher, can’t you see it? It’s in front of me”

The old man finally stops and becomes embarrassed, because of the shocking event today he loses his composure and forgot that he needs to ask for permission if he wants to saw Layon’s status. The old man talks to his system and requests Layon to see his status.

‘System send a request to the kid in front of me to show his status’

Layon suddenly receives something in his system and read it.

[Joseph is requesting to see your status do you approve? Yes, No]

 ‘Joseph? Is this teacher’s name? he always refuses to tell me his name, did the teacher forget that I will find out his name if he sends a request? or teacher just really wants to see my status that he didn’t care if I found out his name? yes’

After Layon’s approval, his status immediately sends to the old man, or can also be called Joseph. When the old man saw Layon's status he becomes even more shocked than finding out that Layon is a dual-core, because when he read it the disbelief in his face can be seen. Layon didn’t really know what the old man is thinking, because he can’t understand the old man's reaction, he doesn’t know if the old man is happy or sad, suddenly the old man stares at Layon and spoke with a trembling voice.

 “H-how can this be possible?”

Layon becomes worried and asks.

“teacher what’s wrong is my status good or bad? And also, did you see I have a full name is that mean I have 2 clans?”

The old man didn’t answer and just stare at Layon’s eyes with mixed emotion and thought to himself.

‘Dear, is this your way of telling me to don’t forget my sins or the way to redeem myself?’

Layon doesn’t understand why the old man is not answering and just staring at him, he can also feel the mixed feeling of the old man in his eyes the anger, sadness, grief he doesn’t understand why his teacher his feeling this kind of feeling right now, but he doesn’t want to ask because he knows that if his teacher wants him to know he would tell him. The two just stare at each other without talking for a while, and finally, the old man regain his composure, he closes his eyes and said to himself.

‘The faith brought us together again and this time I will do my best to help you, not because I want to redeem myself, but because I want to help you’

The old man opens his eyes and stares at Layon again.

“Layon Do you want to be my disciple?”
