Chapter 16 Pipers pov Piper looked at the keys and then up to Wyatt. “Sure, I would love to.” She grabbed the keys and pulled Wyatt out of the house. She dragged him up to the Jeep and jumped into the driver's seat. She had to move the seat ahead a little, Bennett was a lot taller then she was. The steering wheel felt like it was made for her hands. She put the key in the ignition and started it up. The jeep purred silently. Everything about the car she loved. She turned to Wyatt and asked, “So where to?” “I was thinking about that little cafe on Sumner drive. They make a mean cup of coffee.” Wyatt seemed nervous and she wasn't sure why. She should be the one acting nervous. Hell she was just a ball of nerves inside. “I love that spot. It is just very quiet and peaceful. I think it will be the perfect place for us to talk.” She smiled at him. The smile must have been just the thing to ease some of the nervousness, because he reached over and grabbed her hand again. The sparks were still there. It made her feel warm inside. This was all so new and fast she didn’t know what to think yet. They drove to the cafe in awkward silence. Piper didn’t know how this whole situation worked. This whole world was new to her. She parked in front of the cafe and turned to look at Wyatt. “You have been awfully quiet,” she said. “Lets go inside and sit down and talk. I would really love to get to know you and answer any questions you have.” “Only if I can get a cinnamon roll with my coffee,” she said to him and smiled. She got her desired result because he flashed the most sexy smile and chuckled. “I can agree to that,” he said. They got out of the car and entered the cafe hand in hand. When they got to the counter, the tall blonde gave Wyatt a smokey look and smiled. “Alpha, what can I get you this beautiful morning? As you know, for you, I am always on the menu.” She winked and pushed her large breasts out at him. “As usual, I am only interested in coffee. I would like you to meet my mate. Piper this is Layla, one of the members of our pack.” Wyatt smiled at Piper. She turned to Layla, with a smile ready, but the feral look on Layla’s face stopped Piper in her tracks. “We aren’t going to have a problem Layla, are we?” He asked. She shook her head no. “Good. So I would like a Large black espresso and a piece of Beth’s apple pie.” He looked at Piper and added, “Have you tried it yet? It’s just absolutely amazing.” “No I haven't. I will have a slice of the apple pie and a medium caramel latte with an extra shot of espresso,” Piper said with a smile. Man, this b***h needs to back off and stop acting like our mate is a piece of pie. I will take a crack at her and she will slow her roll Destiny said. Piper knew how she felt. She was feeling the green spike of jealousy herself and didn’t know where it was coming from. It's not as if her and Wyatt were an item. They just met after all. How many times do I have to tell you, girl. It doesn’t matter that we just met. Mate LOVES us! Now stop being a dumbass! Piper grabbed Wyatt’s hand and said, “Let’s go have a seat while we wait” and she started to pull him toward an empty corner table. Wyatt followed her with a grin on his face. He looked over his shoulder and waved to Layla with a smirk on his face. They sat down at the table and Piper looked at him. “I am sorry about that. Destiny was getting out of control with jealousy. I had to do something to calm her down,” she apologized. “Don’t apologize, Pipes, that just made my day,” he said. Piper was a little shocked that he used her childhood nickname, but she decided that she liked the way it sounded on his lips. Layla came over to the table with their coffees and pie. She sat them down on the table and bowed her head. “Alpha, future Luna, enjoy.” She still had a jealous look on her face. “Thank you Layla. I don’t know many people in the pack yet. Maybe we could have coffee sometime?” Piper asked. Layla looked shocked, then she smiled. “I would like that Luna.” She said then went back to work. “That was very well done. I think you may have just made a friend and made my life a little easier in the process,” Wyatt chuckled. “Well I really don’t want to make any enemies yet, let alone for something I can’t control.” Piper relied. Wyatt took a drink of his coffee. He watched Piper with an intense look in his eyes for a minute before he spoke. “I’m sorry, I just can’t get over how beautiful you are. You take my breath away.” Piper gave him a shy smile and blushed. See, I told you our mate would love us Destiny said with a happy purr. “Thank you. I can’t believe how handsome you are. This all just seems surreal.” Piper still couldn’t believe she was here with him now. That he was chosen for her. “Now to get down to the tough questions,” Wyatt said.
