Pipers pov

Piper's heart broke for her mother. Her own family turned their backs on her because she was different. Her first reaction was to just wrap her mother up in her arms and cry for her.

Then her brain slowly started to register what her mother had told her. “You’re joking right? Shifters and witches and vampires oh my. This is out of kids' stories.”

“Everything I have told you is true Piper.” Her mother handed her a folder. She opened it and looked through the pictures and news articles compiled there. Just at that moment her father walked into the kitchen.

“I take it you told her?” her father asked.

“You both have got to be joking. This is all just fantasy.”

“I wish it was Piper. Everything your mother has told you is true. And somehow now we believe you are a shifter. That is the only thing that explains you being able to recognize the mate bond with Wyatt. He can feel the bond and knows it is the true bond so it's not just a figment of your imagination.”

“So that really happened? I remember smelling sandalwood and latte and then everything went blank and then I remember this strange tugging feeling and saying the word mate. So does that mean the dream I had was not quite a dream?” Piper asked.

“What dream?” her father asked.

“Some woman named Selene came to me in my dream and told me a story about Lycans and about Wyatt being my mate and meeting him unlocked my Lycan. She showed me a vision about what happened to my birth parents, how they were murdered by an evil man who wanted to use me because I will either save us all or destroy the world.”

Her mother and father shared an alarmed look across the table then they turned to Piper. “The Moon Goddess really came to you and spoke to you?” Her mother asked.

“I guess so. I just thought it was some messed up dream. But if what you are saying is true, then it really could have been her. And that leaves the question, what the hell do I do now?”
