An orphaned child is found in the wreckage of an abandoned house gets taken in by a wolf pack. No one knows who the child is or where he comes from. He faces years of torment and abuse at the hands of his adoptive father. Eventually he kills his father in self defense, and almost dies while defending himself. His life is saved by his fated mate, and he must overcome his trust and abandonment issues to keep his mate. All the while, he is fighting a curse that causes him to go into a blind rage when he loses his temper. Each time he loses his temper, his behavior becomes more erratic and he becomes more dangerous, his anger issues begin to bleed into his every day life, making everything increasingly difficult for himself. Eventually he meets the hunter who had the curse placed on him, realizing he was one of many that were kidnapped as a child due to his strong alpha lineage, to use as a “secret weapon” to aid the hunters in wiping out all were-kind.
The accident leading to the fire is the only reason he was able to escape the hunters as a child, allowing him to be raised by werewolves instead of the hunters. The same hunters who raised the rest of the abducted children, brainwashing them to become homicidal maniacs hellbent on eradicating their own kind.
He has to overcome that (with the help of his fated mate, who he loses for a time) before he’s able to defeat the crazed hunter and his werewolf minions, and take his rightful place on the throne of the pack he came from.
