As I was anxiously waiting for Scarlett to show up, I decided to continue reading my book. After maybe twenty minutes, there is a knock on the door, so I went to answer it and Scarlett was standing there waiting. “So I hear I have to teach the little slave girl makeup. I guess I should be happy though, since father is sending you in my place, so I don't have to deal with the shame of becoming a breeder. Consider this my form of a thank you, I guess.” I nod and don’t meet her eyes, it is disrespectful for me to do so since she is of a higher rank than me. I get out of the way, and she walks in and takes a look around the room. “Looks like you have got a major upgrade. I hope you enjoy it because I highly doubt the king is going to let you stay anywhere as nice as this when all you’ll be is a breeder and nothing important.” I nod again and say nothing. I don't want to make her mad at me and if I say something she might hit me. She could always find a way to talk her father out of punishing her if she leaves a mark, so I just want to keep quiet. “Alright, let’s get this lesson over with. Where is all the makeup?” “In the bathroom. I have everything laid out so that it is within reach for you.” She nods and heads to the bathroom with me following behind her. “OK. First, you always need to moisturize and prime your face before putting any makeup on. This is a moisturizer and this bottle is a primer. Put just a small amount in your hand and apply it to your face. Never put it directly on your face, you could leave bacteria on the applicator or bottle and cause breakouts. After the moisturizer and primer are dry, then you go in with a concealer to conceal any blemishes or dark marks. The circles under your eyes, for instance. Let it sit and get tacky, then use this beauty sponge to blend it out. I normally do my eye makeup next so that I don’t get any fall out on my foundation, but you can do it however you prefer. Let’s go for a smokey eye with some light browns and black to make the silver in your eyes pop a bit.” She starts applying makeup on me and I sit as still as I can, she is being nice, and I don't want to ruin this moment. “Now what I am going to do is use my liner to line your lids and some mascara, then add some false lashes to give you more definition to your eyes.” I nod and close my eyes again. She finishes the eyes and I take a quick look. It looks amazing. I have never seen my face look like this, and she isn’t even done yet. “You want to dust all the fallout of the eye shadow off at this point and wipe off the excess. After you do that, then we do the rest of the face. I think we should just use a light cream foundation since you don’t need heavy coverage, so that is what we will do. Then define the face with highlight and bronzer. Add some blush… And now for the lips, I think we should do a nude pink and a gloss. And…. Finished. What do you think?” I turn and look in the mirror and my jaw drops. “I look amazing. Thank you so much. I know you probably want to be anywhere else besides here, so really, thank you. I will continue to practice tonight so I do not let the pack down.” She nods, gives me a slight smile and turns to head out. “For what it’s worth, I never hated you. My parents made me stay away from you because they said you were too low class for me to be seen with. But I have always wanted to be friends ever since I was little. I don’t know what it is about you, but I am honestly jealous of the fact that you are just naturally pretty, and you just do not let things get you down. I hope that things are better for you in the king's pack. And I hope you can get your freedom. Good luck. I wish you well.” I smile at her and turn a little so she doesn’t see me crying as she leaves. I always thought she hated me, but it was all her parents' fault. I have always disliked them. But now I hate them. I bet there are more in the pack who would have been friendly to me if not for Alpha and his Luna. Doesn’t really matter now though. I leave tomorrow, and I will hopefully never have to see any of these people ever again. I look at myself again and go out to the bedroom and sit to read my book and wait for lunch. I mean I have nothing else to do right now. And I really do not want to wash this off my face yet and try again. I want to enjoy looking this pretty for the first time in my life. I know she said I am naturally beautiful, but I never saw it. ‘You are beautiful. The makeup just enhances it. I am shocked by how nice she was to you honestly. From all your memories, she never seemed like the nicest person.’ ‘Me too, Amara. She seemed sincere though when she said all that. I doubt there was an ulterior motive to it. She couldn’t really benefit from something happening to me now because then she would have to go in my place.’ ‘Good point. Just be careful.’ ‘You know I will.’ I sit and read and after some time I start drifting off to sleep.
