Amethyst 'Elise' POV
There was a knock on my door, and I sleepily opened one eye, still wrapped in the comforting embrace of slumber.
The knocking persisted, urging me to wake completely, and I mustered enough energy to push myself up from the cozy confines of my bed.
"I'm awake!" I called out in a voice that was more a sleepy proclamation than a coherent reply.
"Good morning, Miss Lavigne! Breakfast is ready for you," came the cheerful voice of my secretary, Louise, from the other side.
"Okay, Louise. I'll be out in just a few minutes," I replied, my voice still thick with sleep.
"Alright, Miss Lavigne," my secretary responded, and I could hear the smile in her tone.
