Episode 1: The Encounter
1. The Unexpected Encounter at the Charity Gala
The crystal chandelier cast soft, shimmering light across the lavish banquet hall. Dressed in expensive gowns, the socialites held champagne glasses, chatting with smiles full of calculation and hidden agendas. This was the game of high society—everyone wore a perfect mask, hiding their true intentions.
Alexander Knight stood in the center of the hall, swirling his wine glass lazily. His sharp, chiseled features exuded an air of cold indifference. To him, this charity gala was just another tedious social obligation, a chance to solidify business alliances—nothing more.
"Alexander, you're frowning again," his younger brother, Ethan Knight, teased, raising his glass with a playful grin.
"I despise these pointless gatherings," Alexander replied flatly, his gaze scanning the hall. He was already considering an excuse to leave early.
But then, something caught his eye.
A woman in a simple black gown stood in one corner of the hall, arguing with a man dressed in an expensive suit. Her back was slender, but her posture was straight, radiating an air of defiance. She didn’t belong in this world—her outfit was refined but lacked the pretentiousness of the other women here. Even her high heels seemed too modest for this occasion.
Who is she?
Alexander narrowed his eyes, a flicker of interest igniting within him.

2. Sophia’s Dilemma
Sophia Lane took a deep breath, trying to remain calm, but the client in front of her was pushing her to the edge.
“Sir, we’ve delivered the flowers as per your order, and these are the finest roses we could source,” she explained, her voice strained but controlled.
But the man in front of her—a self-important businessman—smirked.
“Unfortunately, I’m not satisfied,” he said, waving his hand dismissively.
“Not satisfied?” Sophia bit back her frustration. “But this is exactly what you ordered.”
“So what?” The man shrugged nonchalantly, swirling his red wine. “A little flower shop like yours dares to lecture me? You should be grateful that I’m even paying for your services.”
Sophia clenched her fists. Her flower shop was on the verge of bankruptcy, and this order could help her get through the tough times. But this man was clearly looking for trouble, trying to take advantage of her.
Her heart boiled with anger, but she knew she had to stay composed.
“I’m sorry, sir,” she said firmly, her voice steady, “but if you’re not satisfied, we can discuss it, but returning the goods without reason is not acceptable.”
The man’s expression darkened. He was about to argue when a low, calm voice interrupted him.

3. Alexander’s Intervention
Sophia looked up and saw a figure standing beside her.
Alexander Knight.
Even if she wasn’t part of high society, she knew his name. The CEO of Knight Enterprises, one of the wealthiest and most powerful men in the world. There were countless rumors about him—some said he was cold and ruthless, others said he was a genius businessman who struck fear into his enemies.
At that moment, he stood next to her, his gaze sharp and commanding.
“I believe she’s already explained herself clearly,” Alexander’s voice was calm but carried an undeniable force.
The man immediately tensed up, his arrogance faltering.
“This doesn’t concern you, Mr. Knight...” he stammered.
“It does now,” Alexander cut him off, his tone devoid of any warmth. “If you don’t want your company to suddenly lose a few important contracts, I suggest you honor your agreement.”
The man’s face paled, and he quickly backed down. “Misunderstanding, it’s all a misunderstanding,” he muttered before hastily leaving.
Sophia watched him retreat, feeling a sense of satisfaction, but she couldn’t shake the feeling that she had just been helped by someone with far more power than she could ever imagine.
And this man… he wasn’t helping for no reason.

4. The Seed of a Deal
Sophia turned to face Alexander, meeting his gaze.
“Thank you for your help,” she said, trying to keep her tone neutral, not wanting to seem too indebted.
Alexander studied her for a moment, his piercing eyes seemingly searching her soul.
“You don’t belong here,” he remarked softly, his voice carrying an almost imperceptible hint of something more.
Sophia frowned, slightly confused. “You’re right. I’m just an ordinary person, not someone from your world.”
Alexander didn’t respond immediately. Instead, he leaned in slightly, his voice low and intriguing. “Too bad. After tonight, your world will never be quite so simple.”
Sophia blinked, taken aback, but before she could respond, he turned and walked away, leaving her standing there, her heart unexpectedly racing.
That man… dangerous, yet undeniably magnetic.
She hadn’t expected that this one chance encounter would completely change her life.
