Chapter 10

The days passed by as usual and finally it was the most awaited day of the year for every computer geek or genius has arrived. Some to show their talent, some to get recognition and some others to get a legal job as you might know that hacking and all that stuff is illegal but some companies need us for their business sometimes some security companies and etc. While I was here to show them what should they be looking up to but I never take the First position even if I can do better than them I always go for the second place cause my current situation doesn’t allow it once I get my life a little sorted I will take what belong to me. So now I was standing in front of the building where the championship is going to take place. Pulling my hood above my head and putting on a mask I took my place at the assigned system and waited for the announcement to be made. Here everybody was given a place according to their registration number so that nobody could claim for anything.

Once the place was filled with people the announcement of the task was done we all started with our own ways to work in to the firewall or whatever place they chose this time. Although every time it’s the best security agencies, or financial departments, etc. and mind you we cannot steal any data from there.

So within minutes I was completed and was waiting for someone to claim for 1st place so I can claim the 2nd place.

After about 5 more minutes someone was announced as 1st and I clicked my own enter button. And the 2nd place was mine.

After receiving my award I left for office to tell Noah but not before calling papa and asking for dinner treat which he agreed instantly and was on about how proud he was to have me as a daughter.

As I reached the parking, Cassie was there speaking to someone with a serious expression on her face. I waited until she was done with her call and made my towards her. She shrieked at first then having recognizing it’s me she calmed herself down.

“So what happened and before you think I heard anything then no I didn’t but your expression said it was something serious. What’s it, can I help with anything.”

“Nah, I think just some stalker but it was getting a little serious so he had to have a piece. That’s it you don’t need to worry.” She said as we made our way to the elevator.

“Okay as you say. But I can help you know if you want me to then.”

“It’s nothing serious so don’t worry, come on let’s go otherwise Noah would be upset.”

“Oh you know so well. Let’s go.”

As we reached I walked off to Noah’s office holding my award in one hand. He was busy with something so didn’t notice me until I was behind his chair seeing what he was reading.

“Oh my god. Do you wanna kill me, you hate me that much. I mean we haven’t seen each other for two days and this is how you greet me. No hi, no hello straight away a heart attack.” Noah said

“You know I don’t hate you and for the other thing you didn’t notice me. I was here for around 10 minutes, so I didn’t disturb you. I know I was off for 2 days so you might have it hard with all the hard workload so I would let this go. And here I again won my place.”

“You know your place is 1st but you won’t claim it and as always give it to someone who is much less capable than you. So today also you got 2nd place.”

“Yep and I will take that place once I have made my life a little bit more organized, I promise you that. Okay now complete your work. I’ll be off for today and also you can take a day or two leave if you want.”

“Yeah go celebrate and nah I don’t need rest. If only I’m not able to handle this much then how will I would handle the business alone (here he is talking about his dad’s business).”

“Don’t worry we will figure that out, remember what you said ‘one step at a time’. Now now don’t stress. Bye.” I left his cabin to go to the house where my ‘family’ stayed.

“You where have you been for the last three days.” Of course it was none other than Emily. I just entered but she can’t quit it can she.

“Listen I was here all the time so kindly don’t say about something you don’t know.” I said making my way to my own unit of place.

“Oh papa you are already here, oh my food is also ready, did you take a day off oh it’s not like you so did sir retire for the day soon and sorry I couldn't bring back the first place home you know what happened the first time I got that place but I promise next time I'll make sure to claim it as mine.” I said making my way to my room to freshen up and to enjoy my own personal buffet.

“Yes he is stressed these days. I just know that the business is not doing so well and the Williams deal isn’t as successful as he had planned. I guess he is sorting out ideal companies to collaborate with just cut him some slack off please he is not in his best shape these days.” Papa said while placing the last dish on the table.

“Oh please what slack should I cut him off with. They are the ones who don’t acknowledge me and now it’s too late to ask for forgiveness or anything in return. So don’t say all these to me papa let’s just eat and enjoy today we don’t get to do all this always.”

“Yes let’s eat, I mean just give him some time to tell his own side of story please that’s all I ask for and nothing more. Maybe there are something’s that nobody knows.” Papa placed some food while saying all this.

“Let time take its own turn that’s what you always say papa so let’s keep it that way and enjoy today.” Saying so I started eating to all my heart’s desire. After that together we cleaned dishes, bidding each other goodnight and so we were off for the day.
