Rising Shadow

Chapter 5

Oliver's Pov:

That girl in the Collins House felt familiar to me as if I know this girl. So deciding to know more about this girl I asked my assistant to do a background check on her. Nothing too suspicious came out of it except her name which didn't have a surname. I mean these days surnames are really important so deciding to do more research on her tomorrow I decided to call it a day.

Waking up early I did my daily chores greeting my parents and having breakfast I left early. I have some work in my company so I did that first and then left to the the university the daughter of Collins goes to. Stopping at the entrance I spotted a very expensive looking car which was way better than what my car was. I waited to see who comes out of the car but I spotted Mr. Thompson who was the driver of NJ Co. But what was he doing here. He called someone and said he was waiting for them I tuned off his conversation because someday I'll meet the head of the company. The exciting part was nobody knew who he was everybody knew that one of the partners was Noah Stanford the younger son of Mr. Stanford but the other one was unknown.Then I saw a familiar figure walking out talking on phone I put all my attention on her so as to recognise who she is. Our eyes met for a few seconds and she adverted her way towards the exit. After a few seconds Emily came and ask her to join us and I thought for once she would accept the offer but she denied it very gracefully. I was not there to meet Emily or drop her off I was there to study Jessica so I would do exactly the same. While I was thinking so Emily said clinging to my arms "let's go it's better we don't have a third wheel. By the way it was a good surprise that you came if I would have known I would have come out faster" cutting her off I said "I have some work look yourself home bye" saying so I left but not before noticing that Mr Thompson has also left while searching for Jessica I could not find her but I did saw the car. Hmm who is the person who wants to keep their identity hidden so desperately yet is in a car without tinting the glasses so what was this person's intention. Thinking so I made my mind to follow the car. My question was answered very fast when the car was tainted and it's only the company's parking everybody knew no one could go inside it if you are not invited to come. I mean which company has this many secrets and yet they make it to the top, they are the second best but obviously below my company. These people have taken a lot of opportunities from us. Someday,I will come face to face with the CEO of the company then everything will be sorted, but now I had to hurry to my company so I left and started thinking about Jessica. I'll soon find out about her.

Noah's Pov

I don't know why people have so much uncertainty about Jessica I mean yes we do sign a contract about the identity of J but they can't speak whatever they want right. I made the decision of not having the meeting but J never let it slip until it is really necessary. All while I thought of making the contract more profiting towards us rather than them. J is good at a lot of things but in some legal aspects and modifying the contracts she is weaker than me she is more like a straightforward person. But these people don't know who they are going against so I made the conditions in our favour and these people couldn't even know that. That's the problem they can't do their own work precisely and interfere in others work but even if they have read the contract precisely they couldn't have deciphered the meaning of  the things that we have written. All in all the meeting was successful. We were now headed to the restaurant that I like. J being J knew I would be wanting to go so yeah. 

Knowing very well what she might have had for lunch I asked her "So what did you have for lunch" "'you don't need to worry, a person who does not wait for the friend has no right to ask any questions to them" she said looking out of the window. "I already said that I had some work so I had to leave otherwise I won't have left you, you know that very well and by the way I should be the one who should be angry at  you why did you give them the chance of the meeting" I said

"You know some more acquiring and we will be same as James Co. which is our desired target so I gave them a chance and don't worry you did scare them." she said smiling

"Do remember to eat your lunch from the next meeting those can wait for the next time your health is more important they are the ones who need us" cutting me while I spoke J said "hey we also need them where as we might not need them as much as they need us it's a double way thing"

"Ok now, let's go we've reached" I said coming to a halt opening my side of the door headed towards J's door but she was already out. "Come let's have dinner and go for a walk". We headed towards our usual seats since we are kind of regular over here. Thinking that it was time I could ask about my doubts I spoke up "So I saw the Williams car leaving your place yesterday what's up with them visiting you people all of a sudden" 

"They were there to discuss Oliver and Emily's wedding" she replied in a bored tone.

"And what about the mark you had in the morning" I asked desperate to know what might have happened.
