ALEX'S POV,
Our werewolf senses about nature are strong, allowing us to pick up even the subtlest changes in the air, shifts in wind, and the scent of approaching rain. We can predict the weather accurately, as we are said to be a part of nature itself, attuned to every rhythm in our territory.
That morning, I could sense the heaviness in the clouds and the earthy tang that signaled rain was coming. I knew it would rain today, so this was exactly my chance to take her home. The timing had to be perfect, and nature seemed to be on my side.
I called Rose and asked her to help me prepare necessities—dry towels, warm drinks, and extra clothes in case the storm hit harder than expected. Rose, ever reliable, jumped into action without asking questions, trusting my instincts.
When the lightning struck nearby, its flash illuminated the woods, and Ian and I approached her. In that moment, the storm provided just enough cover for us to reach her without drawing unwanted attention.
At first, in the dark, she was skeptical, and I could tell that from her voice. Her words were cautious, and I sensed her pulse racing, her body tense.
When we showed ourselves in the light, she finally took a breath. She was probably holding her breath the entire time, uncertain of our intentions.
It took a while to convince her to come with us. But eventually, she reluctantly agreed.
When she entered my pack area, she couldn't help but appreciate its beauty. The forest was vibrant after the rain, and the pack’s territory looked even more magical. She liked the environment here—I could tell from her eyes, which lit up as she took it all in.
And when she saw the pack house, which will be our home soon, she said she loved it.
She asked me how I can stay in an apartment when I have a house like this.
I couldn't help but smile. I said, "Well, something happened, and I needed to move out for some time, but I'll move back soon."
I can’t disclose that for her I would even live at the top of an active volcano. Right? Not at least at this moment.
And I definitely can’t tell her that I am living there because of her, and I plan to move back soon with her.
When she entered the pack house, I said: "Welcome to my home." Quite dramatically, actually. She giggled. I loved the sound of it.
Grover was already waiting for us there.
No, not us; he was waiting for Lily.
He saw us enter, and he went straight to hug Lily.
Well, I am a bit jealous that he can already easily go for a hug.
I need to speed up. I don’t want to fall behind.
Either way, now that I have already bought Emily at the Pack House, I need to tell her about my feelings and the fact that I am a werewolf, and there might be another werewolf who is after her life because of me.
Because after today, he might know who my mate is. So, I need to hurry.
When Rose came, she took both the girls to have hot chocolate.
They were talking and giggling, and that scene of her laughing was just pasted onto my mind.
I loved to see her happy, and I would do anything to keep her happy, no matter what.
Then Rose proposed watching a movie together, and they agreed, and Rose took them to the mini theater on the alpha floor.
Rose chose an Indonesian horror movie. I don’t get why she likes horror movies so much.
When Emily heard about the movie, she gave a bright smile, saying she had wanted to watch the movie for a long time.
Rose's mind linked to me, saying, "I heard this movie is terrifying. So, I hope to see you coming close because of this. Don't disappoint alpha. We want our luna soon." Then she gave me a wink with a smile.
They all sat down and saved me a place with Emily. They all had a look on their face saying, "Go for it, alpha."
I couldn't help but give them an annoyed smile.
I went to grab the snacks I bought for her, making sure to pick out her favorites. While I handed her the snacks, I leaned in a little closer and said softly and teasingly, "If you get scared, you can hug me. I am all yours."
I watched her reaction carefully. Hearing this, I saw her cheeks turn bright red—a flush that was adorable and completely genuine. She probably thought her red cheeks couldn't be seen in the dark, but she doesn't know I can see very clearly even in pitch dark because of my wolf senses. Moments like these made me realize how much I yearned for her trust and affection, and how every small gesture between us carried a deeper meaning within the pack, where bonds and instincts meant everything.
She didn't reply but thanked me for the snacks.
She was engrossed in the movie. And she didn’t even flinch once while watching the movie.
I thought she would be afraid like Rose said, but she wasn't. In fact, she was enjoying it like she was watching a comedy movie.
She was watching the movie, and I was watching her. I liked to see how her expression changed with each scene played on the TV screen.
I am even considering investing money in making more horror movies for her if she likes them too much.
I never paid much attention to my media company as its profit was constant, but now I need to pay attention and make more movies for her to watch.
The movie ended, everyone was tired, and Ian and Rose went to their room. Grover took Lily with him, and I showed Emily to her room.
The room I took her to is my room, but I said that it's a guest room. I liked the idea of her staying in my room. She was too tired to say anything or appreciate the surroundings. Then she went to sleep.
What she doesn't know is that the next room is connected to my room by a door.
I waited for her to sleep.
I went to see her sleep. My bed is big, big enough for four people. She looked tiny in my bed.
I couldn't resist and lay down with her. I moved slowly, afraid that I would wake her up. I didn't want to scare her off.
She is a heavy sleeper when she is tired. She never knew how many nights I visited her.
But it's my first time lying with her on the same bed. I was peacefully watching her sleep, but then she moved in her sleep and hugged me.
Maybe she thought of me as a pillow. I am happy with that. I slept in bliss with her.
I woke up before the sun. The morning is a bit chilly because it rained last night.
I tucked her in well and left the room.
I went to the room next door, freshened up, and got ready for morning exercise.
I took a quick run around the pack, then went to the gym.
I take great pride in my personal gym, which I built with meticulous care.
Although it is exclusively for my personal use, Grover and Ian are welcome to use it.
My gym is located at the back of the house, surrounded by unbreakable glass, and visible from my room's balcony.
While working out, I felt eyes on me; instinctively, I looked up toward my balcony.
I saw her standing there, watching me. Her cheeks turned as red as a tomato when our eyes met.
When she saw me looking at her with a smile, she ran into the room. I couldn't help but smile even more.
I know she liked what she saw, and I am confident in my body. I have worked on my body since I was seventeen.
I finished my gym session and then went to freshen up.
It was seven, so I went to the kitchen on the alpha floor and started to prepare breakfast for Emily.
Then she came out and came toward the kitchen.
"Good morning, Alexander."
"Good morning. Did you sleep well?"
"Yes, I slept well."
She looks beautiful in the morning.
"Do you need any help with cooking?"
"Yes! I do need some help from you”
"Tell me,"
"I want you to call me Alex," I said with a smile, resting both hands on the counter and my head on them.
She smiled and said, "Yeah, sure. Alex."
I became really happy hearing her call me Alex.
"So, Alex, do you need help with anything?"
"You can only help me by eating these. Just wait for it to be done."
While I was cooking, I could feel her eyes move with me whenever I moved.
I loved the fact that her eyes were on me ...
