I talked with the Elder, who then told me her name was Magda. We came to an agreement. I knew little Joshua would have questions about himself, and about his mother. Magda told me that his mother had been one of her students. She was smart, but barely getting the idea of her craft, so not at all powerful. She never said how she was attacked but she had been sure he had been a vampire. She knew she was pregnant but, because of the village's laws, she wasn't going to kill the child she carried. Joshua was only four months old, but was growing at an alarming rate. His mind wasn't that of a four month old, it was of a four year old. Being he wasn't really going to a traditional school, he was behind on the basics. I had to watch him and realize what a shock the world was going to be to him.
