Always known who she is and where she belongs, 16-year-old Anna was born with a magical flux, an energy that flows through her body, and is destined to become one of the greatest warriors in the South Village where her ancestors lived as well. At least she believed so.

The accident in which Anna nearly lost her life set her on a new path that will forever change everything she believed in. The fire that woke Anna one night, is the same one that made her never sleep peacefully again, and not for the first time.

Her world begins to fall apart, her father is declared missing, and since the South village has rejected her family's return, Anna has to look for a new home among the warriors of the North Village in which she does not know whom she can trust.

Considering her family's past and her gift, which is also her curse, Anna becomes a target of power hunters who will not calm down until they catch her.

Anna must face her true origins as well as to learn to control her new powers. In an unfamiliar environment, she will find friends, family, maybe even the love of her life, but more importantly, she will find fellow soldiers who will fight on her side in an attempt to regain her clan's reputation and find out the truth about her father, and also to save her own life.

CHAPTER 1
Fire, she thought, fire again. She has dreamt about those flames for years. They were her favorite, worst nightmare. They were chasing her, there was nowhere to escape. Those restless nights, only the morning could have brought safety. But she wasn't dreaming this time. This time, the fire was real. She could feel the flames going through her skin, the smoke filing her lungs. In the end she couldn't escape those flames, she was fighting, trying to run away, but they always caught up with her. You can't escape the fire...   Danger was part of Anna's day to day life. She was trained to become a warrior for as long as she could remember. Weapons and fighting were her specialty. Born with flux, energy that runs through her body like the blood runs through veins, Anna dedicated her life to one goal, to become the greatest warrior whom ever lived. The flux gives her straight, purpose and also the meaning of her life. She didn't have a famous clan to go by, there was just her talent and hard work. Everything was already decided, preplanned, everything had its porous, everything except that fire. She didn't know why she was dreaming about it, but she could have sworn that she had experienced those flames a long time ago; she didn't know when or where, but they were familiar. That night, Anna didn't expect to come across that fire again. She didn't dream about it, as usual, she could've felt the flames on her skin, burning her alive. The whole room was on fire. She tried to escape, to reach for the window, but the fire was blocking all the exits. It was alive, chasing her. Yet, you can't escape the fire...                                                                                                   ***   Anna suddenly woke up, hoping she finally reached her safe zone, but for the first time since she could remember, even morning couldn't save her. Her body was in pain, and she was barely able to move. Her throat was soured, as if she had swallowed the fire. Then the thought crossed her mind, that is exactly what happened.   When Anna finally got to her senses, she started to analyze her surrounding better. She was in a bed which was moving. More precisely, the whole room was moving. Wagon, she thought, when she looked through the window, yet she needed to know more. She tried to get up, but her body was too weak, resisting her. At that moment, she noticed that some parts of her legs and arms were bandaged. The surrounding seemed friendly, but you can never be careful enough. At least not in her world. She barely got up in order to look around. The wagon was clean, full of medical equipment. There was another empty bed and a few empty seats. The train was moving fast thought the mountains that were unknown to Anna. They were taking her somewhere. Taking her without her permission. She felt like she needed to get out of there under any circumstances.   The wagon door suddenly opened up, and three people came in. Their silhouettes were unclear to Anna. It looked like the fire also damaged her eye site. A redhead girl who tied up her curly hair into a bun, approached her bed, while the other two, a black haired guy and a girl with long straight brown hair were standing next to the wagon door.   Good, you are awake, said the redhead girl.   What's happening, where are we going, said Anna.   Try not to push yourself too hard, we are taking you somewhere safe. We are on our way to the North village.   Anna tried to object, but her body was way too weak to move. Talking took more energy than she expected.   Maybe it would be better for you to rest until we get to the village, we are not close yet, redhead spoke to her again. The other two were still silent.   She wanted to speak or at least stand up, but she couldn't do either. Slowly she was loosing her conscience, while the trio was living the wagon. She has never left her village before, why were they taking her away from it, why was the North village safer? Those were the last thoughts that crossed her mind, before darkness consumed her again.                                                                                            *** There were four villages that warriors were trained at, each part of the world had one, just as four elements could be the nature of the flux that warriors posses: fire, water, earth and air. You were born with the element that is the source of your flux, and you are marked by the sign on your body that is represented by your element. Always known, like a law between warriors, that was the way it was happening, over and over again. No exceptions.
