Hospital

"We are out of electricity!", the warrior said. No s*hit Sherlock I think, but decide not to say that out loud. First thing that comes to my mind is to ask Alissa, if they are still safe. I mind linked her and waited for the answer. I only met silence and a panic started to creep into the back of my mind. Now is not the time to be irrational and make stupid choices, I try to calm myself down. Kuura feels my anxiety and says: Alissa is alive and well "How do you know?" I talked with Tunturi. They are safe, but the children are terrified and crying, so she is consoling them. Alissa heard you, but Tunturi told her that you are also safe... ish. "Okay. So what do we do now?" Now you put your mind in this place and breathe. You got this. I took a heavy breath. Henry comes back and tells that he has mind linked Jackson about our situation. "So where are they coming?", I asked. "No, they are swamped. Rogues are swarming in to our land, and they are in a s*hit storm, so it's just us now". One thing we forgot about the electricity outage. The elevators don't work and there are still mothers and pups on the fifth floor. And let's not forget about all the other patients. "Diana", I mind linked her. "How many are still on the floors and how do we get them down to the cellar?" "I'm here on the fifth and those who can walk are on their way. All the patients who can walk are helping each other". I sigh in relief, but Diana continues. "But we have two newborns who are in incubators. Their mothers don't want to move away from them and they are too delicate to move by hands. As long as the elevators don't move, neither can they". Cr*ap, cr*ap, cr*ap. I know that Diana is doing all that she can. We all are. We can hear rogues banging on the doors. They are trying to break in. I run to the fifth floor and it seemed empty. The preemie room was next to me and I went in. There was Diana hugging one mother and the other one was silently praying and tears were falling from her eyes. "I need you to leave", I tell them. They all look at me. "No, I won't leave my baby here to die alone!", the mother who had been hugging Diana, Jane, now let go and beam at me. "There is no baby dying today. Not on my watch. I'll barricade myself in here and make sure that nothing bad happens to them. I swear on my life", I vow them. Luna is waiting in the cellars. She came to fetch all the patients to safety. Tunturi says we don't have much time. "Look, Luna is waiting for you. You need to leave. Now", I tell them. The mothers and Diana look at me. Diana takes Jane's hand and asks for the other mother, Lana, to take the other hand. She looks at them and says: "I will stay here too, with your pups. You know me and you know Alina. If someone is able to help your pups in stress, it is us. I know that Alina works in human's world, but she has seen it all, and she knows what to do. And my mate, Henry, is here. He is the best warrior here and no rogue is going to take him down. I beg you, please go with Luna". Jane and Lana start to cry and let go of Diana's hands. They hug her and then they come to hug me. I smile at them and say: "there will be a time when you can hold your puppies and play with them, but now it's time you let us do our thing". A nurse comes to escort them out of the room and down to safety. I take a long breath and look at the floor. "You saw it too, didn't you?", I asked. "Yes I did. I hope that in the human school of yours, they teach you proper ventilation on newborns". I looked at the incubators' batteries. They have already turned from green to red. A nurse came to tell us a head count. The first floor was empty, the second floor was empty, on the third floor were ten patients who could not be moved, and the fourth floor was empty. We were the last ones on the fifth floor. The nurse told us that she was staying on the third floor with the patients. I mind linked Henry about the situation. He informed the Alpha and the Beta. I asked the nurse what her name is. "My name is Hannah. I moved here to be with my mate. He is out there fighting", Hannah said with tears in her eyes. "Have you heard of him?", I ask. "Yes, he is stuck somewhere between pack house and museum. They are trying to get here. All the rogues are heading this place", she answers. I order three of the warriors to be with Hannah and guard her with their lives. Henry looks at me with a funny look on his face. "You know you look funny, when there is something on your mind, but you are not saying it", I told him. "You do know, that you sound like a Luna? Or a true warrior? You really should come to train with me", he says on a low voice. I rolled my eyes at him. "My sister is a Luna. I am.. I am.. I am something else. But not a Luna. And yes, if we survive this I promise to come to your training and even be a quinea pig to your weird experiements", I tell him and I could swear I saw a real smile on his face. Diana and I went to a storage room. The banging on the door was so loud and it echoed through the empyt hospital corridors. We try to gather every equipment we possibly might need. When we were done we went back to the preemie room. Henry and warrior called Kevin blocked the door with tables and chairs. I could see from the look on their faces that this was not the way a man with fighting skills would ever do. Trap themselves with women in to a room. But I was in no place to try to man them up, the incubators' batteries went from three reds to two. We heard a lound bang, the rogues got in. Henry put his hand on Diana's shoulder to comfort him. I have heard that a mate's touch had an incredible impact to one and another. Kevin the warrior was standing on the door with a fighting stance and hands on fists. "Kevin", I said. "Do you have a mate?". Kevin turned to look at me and told: "Yes, she is safe in the tunnels. She went there with our pups". I nod and told him: "So let's make sure you are going to see them again". With that said, fighting sounds started. "It is coming downstairs", Henry said. A woman's screamed and fell silent. "No, no, no Hannah!", Diana cried. I knew that Hannah's mate felt her death. If he was battling right now, it could affect on him and he might die too. I felt the sickness rising. But it wasn't nausea or anything like that. It was pure rage. My hands were shaking and I felt myself turning red. I could see red even with the green emergency lightning what was on. I just didn't care anymore. I wanted to kill all of those rotten-smelling-bas*tards. And then they arrived to our door. Let me out! "Kuura, trust me, I sure would like that, but you can't help the pups, if they are in trouble". There is no helping them if we are both dead! Let me out! I glanced at Diana and tell her what I'm about to do. She just nods. Kevin and Henry were already in their wolf forms. It was a little crouded there, because the two warrior wolves were so big. But I heard my clothes ripping and bones crackling. Kuura didn't care if there was no more room for her, she was ready.
