“I might get pregnant for you, and you know we don't want that.” She beckoned, her voice trembling.
“Sigh! Why do you always have to bring that topic up?” He pinched the bridge of his nose.
“Just trust me, darling, I'm good at what I do.” He smiled, gesturing in for a warm embrace.
Meanwhile, she had already conceived a child for him. Keeping it a secret, while she waited for the right time to use it against him.

It was noon the following day, and Sophia got a text from Jason. He wanted to see her and finalise the divorce. It was a hindrance to him from getting married to Emily.
He sent a soft copy to her, stating the terms and conditions of the divorce, to hasten up the process.
“What does it say?” Liam asked, staring intently at Sophia, who sat frozen in the spot.
“H– He wants to…” she kept stuttering and trembling, so he went forward to see for himself.
Written on the divorce agreement, he stated that she would no longer have access or ownership of her company.
And all her assets and properties they had shared would be transferred to Emily; She had always wanted a company of her own.
From the moment she partnered with Jason, she knew this day would come. Growing up with no parents or relatives, she had to find a way to earn a living.
From little beginnings like searching for good homes for natives and tourists to rent, to big ones like managing multiple estates and even starting a construction firm.
This was her life, and Jason had just taken it all with just a snap of the finger. She was heartbroken and cursed the day she met him.
The burden she felt earlier was subdued with the help of Liam, but now, with the divorce agreement settling in, it tripled.
The air felt thick and heavy, as she felt the weight linger in her heart.
“What does she want with my company?” Sophia sobbed, her body trembling. “He has better and larger ones to give her, but why does it have to be hers?”
Liam felt a wave of anger wash through him, as he read through it. Jason's torment was becoming a problem for his mate. Not financially, but it was causing her emotional dismay.
Yes, they were married but still, it doesn't give him the right to treat her unjustly.
He inhaled deeply, letting go of the anger he felt.
How was he going to make her love him, and see him for who he was with Jason in his way? For a moment, he felt out of control, but he shook it off.
He exhaled hard, his heart beating hard against his chest. Was he anxious?
He dropped his gaze at her and she gave him purpose. He knew what he had to do but first, he had to settle the turmoil within her.
“Come on, Sophie.” He gestured to her, “Let's put an end to this madness.”
She looked at him as his hands stretched out, standing tall and confident before her. His gaze brimming with hope and determination.
She felt lighthearted again, and she didn't even know why. There was something about him that she couldn't place her fingers on.
She placed her hands on his and slowly gave off a warm smile. Her eyelashes batted softly before she gave a reply.
“Okay, Liam.”
It was her first time leaving the building since the accident, and as she stepped outside, her eyes widened and she gasped in awe.
This was far from the ordinary estates she had worked with, and what made it more interesting, was the fact that he had a personal, high-end hospital just for himself.
It wasn't just a luxurious estate, but a world on its own.
They moved towards the vehicle parked at the entrance, and she couldn't hide the excitement washing over her, it was one of her dream cars.
And aside from the grandeur of the estate, the way he gently held her hand felt special to her.
She gazed up at him with admiration, but his eyes remained fixed and unyielding, like a lion about to pounce on its prey.
Her cheeks flushed as she realised how handsome he was doing that, wondering what lay beneath his piercing gaze.
The chauffeur signalled them to go in, and she went in, followed by Liam.
The journey was smooth and her mind wandered as she stared out the window, as if trying to find meaning in the new life that awaited her.
Liam placed his hands on her thighs, bringing her back and she shuddered, it felt electrifying.
She turned towards him and smiled. But her eyes popped with surprise as she saw her mother's pendant in one piece; he had restored it.
“Awwwn, Liam!” She exclaimed.
Unable to contain her excitement, she threw herself at him and hugged him tight.
They arrived at an exclusive event space as stated by Jason, and Liam stopped at the entrance.
He had drawn too much attention to himself, which made Sophia uncomfortable.
The event space had a luxury showcase that evening, and every corner was crowded by paparazzi.
She got into the building and the receptionist welcomed her. After a call with Jason, she was directed to the VIP section.
Along the way, some arrogant rich guys in their early 20s approached her. They tried flirting, going as far as poking her hand and touching her hair.
After an unbearable moment with them, they finally gave up and pointed her in the right direction.
She went inside the VIP section, and her eyes locked with Henry's. She inhaled deeply and walked towards him.
He beamed as he saw her, he knew she must have cried her heart out after reading the agreement. However, she looked determined.
Sophia's heart was consumed by hatred for the man before her. He had stolen everything from her, including her life, cherry and heart.
She clenched her hands into a fist, and her forehead contorted. Thoughts about snapping him into so many pieces consumed her mind, but it wasn't humanly possible for her.
“Come sit on my lap, baby.” He said, tapping his thighs.
She furrowed her eyebrows, feeling utterly disgusted by him. “I came to sign the papers, Jason.” She blurted out.
“Easy girl…” He frowned, before asking condescendingly, “Did you even read the divorce agreement, peanut-sized brain?”
He felt she hadn't because of how bold her stance was, his words couldn't get to her.
“Well yes Jason, I have.” She rolled her eyes, “Now can you hand them over!” She demanded, her voice sharp.
Jason gritted his teeth, he couldn't believe how bold she got over the days. He clenched his phone hard like he could crush them, but then, he paused and smiled at her.
