Chapter 4 Broken And Rejected

1218 Words
Ismene didn't know what was happening. A while ago she was staring eyes to eyes with the woman that was said to be the witch and another second later..she was getting surrounded by men. "What is going on? What does she mean by stealer? I have never stolen from anyone!" Ismene yelled, her dark eyes brooding on the men that had gathered. She turned quickly and her eyes caught that of Eline who was smiling widely. Guards came from the front and held the men down and the witch walked closer. "What the hell do you mean? I have never stolen a thing from anyone and you're calling me Stealer? What in the world name is stealer? It's called 'thief' if there was a thief here 'cause I'm not theif!' She yelled, glaring at the woman who remained calm. "The word Stealer was gotten from a long time ancestors from a breed. She had no wolf in her, an empty person with no wolf and no powers like others, and she was named Stealer for her name was Stellar and her Father made steel..there the name was formed." The woman began, her eyes watching that of Ismene sharply. "A person with no wolf?" Ismene blinked, realization dawning on her. "But I'm a wolf! I am a wolf. My parents were wolves and..." "Do you know your parents?" The woman asked and a chuckle escaped her lips. Wait a minute..was this mad crazy witch trying to say that she was no wolf and her parents were human? "Your parents are wolves dear, but you have no wolf in you and that is the main reason these men were surrounding you. It's called Oblision." The woman began again, pressing her hands together. "Their mates are dead or yet to die and their spiritual energy is a mess which makes it so difficult for them to control themself when they're close to you. Cause their wolf senses no mating power." She continued. "That's a lie, I have a wolf in me." The tears that she had never shown to anyone were already rushing out with the thought that Maxdole would not be happy with her and would leave her. 'There's no way he'd leave you in a time like this Ismene, he loves you so much and would keep you forever.' Her mind scolded and she nodded hysterically. "Do you feel some type of power whenever the moon is full? Do you feel a sense of belonging and a sense that you're always welcomed?" That was right. Whenever the moon was full and out, she would feel weak and sometimes she'd fall asleep but last time..none of that happens and she was well. Which got her wondering whether or not her sister knew about her demise. Turning to see her sister smiling at her friends, she squinted her eyes and snorted. 'Was Eline this wicked?' "I'll take my leave now!" The woman said and turned around leaving. "No wonder she had pretty red eyes because she isn't a wolf." "Ha! And come to think of it. She has always been clinging to Alpha Maxdole. How shameful of her to cling to someone that would find his mate sooner or later. A wolfless person for that matter!" She could hear the people whispering. She could hear them cussing and saying bad words. And then she looked up. He was staring at her, his blue eyes shown and he stood up. Everyone stood up as well, bracing their selves for the next words of the Alpha. "Ismene Marshall." He called and she took a sharp breath, waiting for the words that followed. "You shall be imprisoned. And this is for your safety less the unmated males and they widowed males force their self on you." He said. The place had become deadly silent. Even a pin drop could be heard and Ismene took another sharp breath. She was going to prison? For what? For her safety? 'Calm down your nerves Ismene, it is Maxdole. He knows what he's doing. He would never leave you in prison for you to rot. He would take you out and bathe you and wear you expensive dresses..you just have to wait till the mess is over.' She assured herself. The guards came over and led the way. Ismene had never thought she would be going to prison and not just any prison. The dungeon in the castle, Maxdole's mansion. Why didn't he just take her to his room? or perhaps gave her a room. This was his mansion and no one would enter without his permission. She stared at the guard that was tightening the shackle on her legs. What was the use of this? For her not to run? She shook her head and sighed. Where would she run to? Maxdole was her home! "Where is Maxdole? Where is Alpha Maxdole?" She asked, staring at the guard that stood in front of her prison. "He's in an important meeting, you'll have to wait for him to get here." The guard answered. "And what are you doing here standing in front of the dungeon?" "To protect you before an unmated wolf comes to get you." The guard's reply melted her heart and she smiled. After all, her Maxdole was doing her more good than harm. He did care and he was not betraying her. "Okay." "Tell me when he's done." ***** The cold breeze didn't seem like one to get past the night. Alpha Maxdole stood by the window. It was already time for the meeting he had with Alpha Alexander. The man was someone that would come whenever he wanted and no one would say a thing. Maxdole stood patiently by the window, his eyes boring down the mansion so he'd know when his guest arrived. "What will you do now Alpha? Seeing as Ismene is a wolfless person and does not have any hope of getting her wolf back." It was Dagak. One of his subordinate that was close. "Do you think I would make her a Luna? Even though she had a wolf, Ismene can never fit to be a Luna. She is just something to pass time with." Maxdole said, his tongue sticking out of his mouth to run across his lips that was already dry due to the cold. "She has been talking nonstop in the dungeon. Don't you think it's too far putting her in the dungeon down the mansion." "She has to learn the truth the hard way, I was praying and hoping for something that would be a good sacrifice for my guest and everything turned out great." Maxdole smiled. A wicked smile that didn't reach his eyes. "Are you thinking of sending her..." The other man trailed, his eyes widening. "Hmm. " He nodded. "She will be the sacrifice. She will have to sacrifice herself for the Pack. And she has no say in this." He looked down the mansion again but nothing. No sign of a carriage pulling up at the front. Few minutes later.. nothing and no sign of him nor his people. And then as if a gush of wind had blown in the room, he heard footsteps halt just behind him. "It seems you have something important to say Maxdole. Let it be Quick!"
