The cool morning breeze softly blew the hairs up Eva's arm as the tiny orange sun ray crept its way in through the skimpy blindfolds. So wake me up when/ things over when my eyes and hairs/ ",who is that disturbing me with calls early this morning", I grumbled as I rolled round the bed. "It better be important or someone's going to get it", I said in a sleepy voice as I answered my call. "Good morning sweetheart, I am so excited for you", came my friend Eloise's voice excitedly. "You better have a good reason for waking me up this early and disturbing my sleep or you are dead", I replied hissing out of anger as I rolled my eyes. "Wait, don't tell me you are still sleeping, have you forgotten what today is", she asked in a shocked voice? " check the time sleepy head", Eloise exclaimed. "What the f**k are you saying, it just seven forty", I answered her annoyed by her questions. "Eva can you tell me what today is", eloise asked. "It Monday, I answered sarcastically? What the f**k is wrong with Eloise this morning. "And your first day as an intern", Eloise replied. "OMG". "s**t,I am so late, you are a lifesaver, but I Will have to speak to you later", I told her as I dropped my phone and ran into the bathroom. _ _ I am in so much trouble, I thought as I ran out of the toilet with a towel on my head. Thank God I prepared my Clothes ahead of time or this would have been a mess, I thought as I brought out my clothes and quickly wore it. "My hair is a mess, and I am running out of time, gosh it almost eight", I mumbled as I tried tying my hair up. "Well at least it looks decent", i said as I looked at my reflection in the mirror. "I will be doing the rest in the car, let me start going", I said taking my bag as I left my room. I hope I get there quickly,this are the moment that I wish I could fly or teleport, I don't want to make a bad impression of myself on the first day, I thought entering the living room. "Good morning honey, how was your night, hope you slept well", my mom greeted as she exited the kitchen and entered. "Good morning mom, I slept well", I replied checking the time. "Mom, why didn't you wake me up this morning, now I am running late", I asked her, as I anxiously check my time again. "Sweet heart I knocked on your door early this morning at around six, you answered me saying you were awake,so I assumed you were probably awake so I left", mom replied me surprised. "Ohhh, I didn't know, I must have been sleep talking, because I have no memory of waking up or saying that", I replied smiling awkwardly ashamed for sleep talking. "No problem, breakfast is ready, quickly come and eat", mom said as she turned around and entered the dining. "I can't wait anymore, am already late, I will sort myself out", I answered her with urgency in my voice. "It is not going to take long, just come grab a bite", mom said trying to persuade me. "I can't, but let me take an apple", I said walking to the dining. I quickly, took an apple from the dining table, turning back to leave. "Goodbye mom, see you later", I shouted as I closed the door. "Bye dear, good luck", I heard mom shout from inside the house. I quickly entered my car and dropped my bag on the car seat and started my car and drove out of the house. _ _ "s**t, I thought the day couldn't get any more bad, but it seems like I was wrong", I said in a frustrated voice while I pressed the car horn, looking out of the car. When I left home I ran into traffic, it just has to be today that I have to be stuck here in traffic. Everything is going so freaking bad And I am so angry and pissed off, this was the kind of situation I wanted to avoid. if only I woke up early, it was already too late to regret. I was stuck in traffic for about thirty minutes, and used about twenty more minutes to get there. I quickly rushed out from the car the second I arrived at the company at about eight fifty-five. As I was running into the company's lobby, my phone rang. "Who the heck is calling me now",, I grumbled as I picked up my phone as it ranged. Ohh it grandpa, what should I tell him, he would be so angry when he finds out am late on my first day, I thought in my mind nervously trying to make up some excuses. I was so engrossed in my thoughts, that I didn't notice someone approaching,until I stumbled into them. "Oh my goodness, can you not see", I shouted angrily, trying to gather my stuff that scattered to the ground? " You are the blind one here, because I don't understand how you would be walking around carelessly not paying attention to your surroundings", Answered the sexist voice I ever heard. I was dazed, when I stood up to see the owner of the voice. He looked like he just came out of a fashion magazine wearing a blue suit. “Hello” can you not hear me, so not only are you blind, but you are also deaf", he said with an irritated expression? I snapped out of my thought, when I heard him speak. How could some so handsome be so rude. But how could insult coming out of his mouth still sound so elegant,I must be lossing my mind, I thought. "Hey Mr. man, how dare you call me blind and deaf, you jerk, you walked into me and still have the nerves to insult me", I said angrily looking at him. "So not only are you handicapped, but you are also rude", the man said looking at me with an annoyed look. "Ohh, what the nerves, who are you to call me handicap", I asked, pointing my fingers at him irritated by his statement. "Who allowed people like you to enter this place, the security needs to be checked, for them to allow crazy people like you to be walking within the company", he said looking at me with obvious dislike in his eyes. "You are the crazy one here, you arrogant, rude guy, who the f**k are you to call me crazy", I exclaimed angrily. "Excuse me ma'am and sir",I heard someone say. I looked back to see a security guard walking towards us. "Can you both keep it down,you are causing a scene here", the security man said as he addressed us.? I felt so embarrassed when he said that, as i became conscious of my surroundings, I didn't know that we were at the center of everyone's attraction. "There goes my good impression,I hope nobody recognizes me", I mumbled angrily under my breath has I looked around. "Ok sir, we are really sorry for the issue we have caused", I said as I put on my best smile. "No problem, I am just doing my job here", the security man said as he turned back returning to his post. "What a good actress you are, you must do this a lot", the man said, looking at me irritated. "What the heck do you mean", I asked offended by his remark. "Ohh I was just referring to how good you are at putting on a show, like how you are pretending like you are not at fault right now, you really deserve an oscar award", replied the man sarcastically. "So you think you have the right to judge me, then let me do the same to you, you are a mannerless pretentious jerk",I said with a satisfied look on my face. I felt so satisfied has I saw how his face turned ugly and the dark , who told him to be such a jerk, I thought with a smirk on my face. "You..... insolent girl, apologies, he shouted angrily", with his fist clenched together as he started breathing heavily with anger. I never felt so afraid in my life as I looked at the man, he eluded a dangerous aura. "Taww tawwwww" I heard my alarm clock ring. "Oh s**t it already nine ten, how could I be this stupid to be distracted", I mumbled angrily has I panicked? I quickly packed up my bag, I turned around ready to leave. "Where do you think you are escaping to, you still owe me an apology", the man said, standing in my way angrily? "I don't have the time to deal with you, so can you get out of my way", I said angrily as I ran pass him? I heard him shouting after me, so I quickly ran to the check point as showed my employee pass for scanning. "I really hope this jerk don't cause any trouble for me", I said angrily under my breath as I waited impatiently for the machine to scan. It felt like ages to me, watching the whole process. " Thank goodness, it's done", I said as I breathed out relieved. I quickly walked up to the receptionist to ask for direction. _ _ Where should I report to now, I thought, as I looked around the office I was directed to. I was standing around looking lost when I felt a tap on my shoulder, I looked back to see a young man with glasses. "Hello, excuse but who are looking for", he asked me curiously. "Hi, my name is Eva, and I am a new Intern here, I don't know whom to report to", I replied looking at him. "Ok, I am also a new Intern here, my name is Peter", he answered with a smile. "Oh! Nice to meet you", i greeted him back with a small smile. "Nice to meet you too, but how come you are late, we have been introduced to our selfs already", he asked me with a curious look on his face.o "I was stuck in traffic, and I had a little delay on my way here", I answered awkwardly with a smile. "I get it, the traffic some times could be bad", he replied sympathetically. "I hope I am not in trouble", I asked him anxiously looking at him. "I can't say that you are in that big of a trouble, because our supervisor has not addressed us", Peter explained to me. "What happened, why has he not addressed us yet", I asked him curiously. I felt so relieved when he said that. "I heard that the new CEO would be here today, I think that's the reason everyone is busy", Peter said in a quiet voice. "No wonder they are not paying attention to us", I replied him also in a quiet voice. "Would everyone please move to the company's Hall, we have an announcement to make", a young lady said as she entered the office hastily. "The CEO must have arrived, let's quickly go and see", Peter said excitedly as he followed behind the lady. I didn't know there was a new CEO, no worries, let me quickly follow him, I thought, shouting out for him to wait up. _ _ "Let's sit over there, we will have a nicer view from there",I said to peter dragging him to a seat located in fourth role. We both waited anticipatedly as The whole hall was filled up quickly, I felt so excited as I looked around the Hall. "I can't believe I get to workk here_, I exclaimed excitedly to peter who sat next to me. "I know right", Peter replied as he smiled at me. "Have you ever seen the new CEO before", I asked peter curiously. "I have not, but I heard from one of the interns here, that he is the one handling the company's branch in london,I also head he trippled the sale within a year, can you believe that", Peter answered in an hushed voice. "Wow,he must be a business expert to achieve that",I exclaimed surprised by the information. "How old do you think he is", peter asked. "I think he will be around forty",I said to him, giving my opinion. "I doubt that because",he replied. "Why do you say so",I asked. " I heard people say he is in his late twenty", peter replied. "If that is so,then he must be really talented,"I replied impressed by the new CEO's achievement's. "Let us concentrate, it about to start", Peter said as he pointed to the stage. "We welcome you all to this sudden meeting", said a tall middle-aged man with glasses, in a black suit with the mic in his hands. "My name has some of you may know is MR parker, I am the general manager of this great establishment", the man said introducing himself. "We would like to use this medium to make an announcement", Mr parker said as he looked at us with an expressionless look on his face. "Our CEO Mr William Benson has decided to retire from his post has the CEO of this corporation", Mr parker announced. Everyone broke into whisper, when the announcement was made. "So the rumors were true about us having a new CEO", a lady whispered silently to her neighbor beside me. " Can we all be quiet", Mr parker asked looking at everyone in the hall as he adjusted his glasses "Our new CEO is present with us today, so we want to use this opportunity to introduce him to us all", Mr parker said. immediatel another wave of murmurs and whispers broke out. "We need everyone to be quiet as we welcome him on stage", mr Parker said with a serious expression on his face. He was looking annoyed as he looked round the hall. "Does he always look so serious", I asked looking at Mr parker Stoic face. "I don't know, but he reminds me of my principal in high school Mr Denis", Peter replied to me in a whisper, giggling. "I would like to introduce to you Mr Edward Benson The son of Mr William Benson the new CEO of Benson's corporation", mr parker announced looking at the backstage. I was looking at the direction Mr parker was looking at when a message entered my phone. "Eloise better have a good reason for texting me", I mumbled annoyingly as I checked the message. "Hello, my name has you have been informed, is Edward Benson, I am the new CEO of this corporation", said a deep hoarse voice through the mic. I froze immediately I heard the voice. How could I forget that voice, the same voice that insulted me this morning? I prayed silently in my heart, hoping it was my ears play a prank on me Blood drained from my face when I looked up and saw the person on the stage. "I am freaking dead", I whispered to myself as I went pale I am sure the world is against me, because how could I experience all this misfortune within the span of this morning, I thought in my mind, while I hide my face? "I hope he does not notice", I prayed silently in a whisper turning my facing the ground. Why the heck did I have to sit down in this place, it was so close to the front, now if I try to leave I would just attract attention to myself, I said blaming myself in my mind. "Eva are you ok, what are you looking for down there", Peter asked me with obvious concern in his voice as he tapped me on the shoulder. "Am ok peter, I am just feeling a little down right now, I just feel like staying like this for a while", I said in a whisper to peter as I turned to face him giving him a weak smile. "Okay, I hope you feel better soon, because you are looking a little pale", Peter replied with concern. The next fifteen minutes I spent in the hall listening to Mr Edward speak felt like the longest moment of my life. I was so scared that I started sweating profusely even at the presence of an air conditioner. “sss, thank goodness his gone", I said as I breathed out relieved by his absence. "Peter can you please direct me to the rooftop, I asked him anxiously as I quickly took my bag from the ground. I hastily walk out of the hall after Peter gave me the direction. _ _ I paced back and forth continuously as I got to the rooftop, with my heart racing marathons all the while. I tried my best to remain calm as the phone rang, waiting for Eloise to pick at the other end. "Eloise, am in trouble", I said as words rushed out as soon as Eloise picked the cell. "Eva calm down, breath in and out and speak to me clearly", Eloise said. I stopped and breathed in and out as she advised. "Now am calm", I said answering her. "Okay, now you can proceed", she replied. "This is what happened", I said as I started narrating what happened. By the time I was done explaining, she stopped speaking. I was scared by her silence. "Eloise, please say something, you are scaring me", I said nervously, panicking. "Eva I don't know what to say, she answered me as she signed. "Just say something", I exclaimed, panicking. "Eva to be honest with you, I would say you are in deep s**t", she answered. "Please tell me what to do, I asked her", as I sat down on the concrete floor, feeling exhausted. "Eva I think you should hide, make sure he doesn't see, or you are definitely going to be in trouble", she advised. "Girl get a grip on yourself", you need to relax and calm down, it going to be ok dear", she said trying to comfort me. "Okay, thank you, I will try to calm down, I need to go back inside, I will speak to you later", I replied assuring her. "Ok dear, good luck and goodbye, she said as she ended the call. "Eva, you can do it, just calm down", I chanted slowly has I stood up and adjusted my appearance. "Let's go for it", I said out loud as I left the rooftop. I was on eggshells throughout the day as I tried to keep a low profile as I reported to our advisor. _ _ I felt like a fugitive in the office, as every movement made me alert. "Thank goodness it over, I said as I walked into the lobby with peter by my side. Peter had been a blessing to me throughout the day, he helped me at any point that I was stuck, he made me feel a little at ease, we shared contact at the end of the day. "Goodbye Eva, see you tomorrow, I will text you when I get home", he said as we passed the scanning machine. "s**t it raining", I mumbled angrily as I reached the entrance. "Gosh I don't have an umbrella with me, I was in such a hurry that I forgot to check the weather forecast", I said irritated, placing my hands on my forehead while nodding my head. I looked up to see peter running in the rain. "Here I go", I said as ran into the rain, placing my bag on my head. "Ouch, my bag", I exclaimed as I stumbled while running. I got drenched by the rain as I picked up my bag from the ground. I quickly ran to my car, I started it and drove off.
