Chapter 11: Destined

Holden

After filling up on more carbs and calories, I found myself drifting back sleep. I was vaguely aware of Ethan taking the lunch tray and pulling the blankets up around me.

"Get some rest, buddy we will talk later."

I was barely aware of the soft click of the door closing.

Dream

I found myself in a dream, I was in my wolf form Derek was whispering inside my head. 'She's here our mate is here.'

We were in the woods a low fog was rolling in. I stopped as a blue she-wolf dashed out in front of us and stopped. She was beautiful, white fur zig-zagged across her bluish black fur like lightening bolts. I have never seen markings like hers. Her golden-yellow eyes were stunning.

I wanted to ask her what her name was but by the time I shifted back to my human form. The she-wolf was gone. She left behind the loveliest scent I had ever smell Gingerblossoms, freesia and honeysuckle.

End of dream

By the time I awoke later, I realized that the early light of morning was gently coming into my room. I had slept a whole day away. Later tonight would be The Alpha Ceremony, climbing out of bed I quickly headed to the bathroom for a quick shower. I stepped quickly into a clean pair of boxers. Before sliding into a clean pair of blue jeans.

Walking out of the bathroom I headed toward my closet and grabbed a black t-shirt and slipped it on. I flipped my desk light on as I sat down. I picked up the four folders my mother and Beta Ethan were thinking of for our second Betas, Yuki Kiyoshi , Giles Kristopher, Irwin Kyles and Nate Baird. My mother had chosen Yuki and Irwin while Giles and Nate were Ethan's picks.

I set them aside and went through a few others in the other stack. River Beckham, was the only female warrior in the list and Presley Fang I put my stamp of approval on Giles Kristopher and Presley Fang they were my choices for our second both were fiercely loyal to the pack. I wrote a note on a post it for both Nate Baird and River Beckham to report to my office on Monday for their special assignments.

I decided that Yuki Kiyoshi had the potential to move up in the warrior ranks and fill the spot that Owen Clark would be leaving behind. I'm sure having to hold off on mating until they enter Lisbeth pack land couldn't be easy. I was sure Lisbeth would mark him before they left. I was happy for my cousin and Owen. But I was also sad about losing such a brave and loyal warrior. I looked up at the door as Ethan's scent filled my nose right before he knocked on the door.

"Come on in Ethan." I called to him. The door opened and Ethan came in carrying a breakfast tray.

"Hey you're awake I was afraid we would have to reschedule The Alpha Ceremony. I see you've been going through the warrior files." Ethan said looking at the files on my desk.

I handed Ethan the two files of the warriors that had Beta blood and would become our seconds.

"Yes, Giles Kristopher that's awesome and Presley Fang are you sure about that?" Ethan asked questioning my last choice.

"Yes, I'm sure he has great potential you'll be a great teacher for him too." I said to him with a smile.

"What you want me to teach him." Ethan almost yelled at me.

I shook my head at him.

"I want you to show him he is Beta material, he is very loyal to family. If you don't think he can do it then he can take Owen's spot with the warriors. Then Yuki Kiyoshi will be your second." I said as a compromise.

"Fine, I'll give him a try as my second." Ethan said as he sat down in a chair.

My eyes fell on River Beckham's file. "Do we really only have one female warrior?" I asked Ethan.

He rubbed his chin as he thought. "I'm guessing this has to do with River's file being in the pile. No there are five others their files are in my office I'll go get them for you. I'll omit the one warrior though." Ethan said not telling me the name.

"What is the warrior's name?" I questioned my Beta.

"Amy Hunt." Ethan replied coldly.

She had been one of Odessa NorthStar's tormentors. I wasn't aware of how I felt toward her still till my pen snapped in my grip. Making ink run everywhere.

"Damn it!" I cursed as it ran down and dripped on my desk. I was thankful it missed the files. The next thing I knew, Ethan had spread four files out in front of me. Autumn Bane, Kiera Hanson, Asia Kiyoshi, and Buffy Cummings.

"Here you go Alpha Holden. So what is it you have in mind?"

"Diversity, Beta Ethan. The female warriors can be guards just as well as the male warriors." Thank you for the files. I'll go through them in the next couple of days and decide who I want to promote." I said to my best friend.

"Buffy Cummings is Giles's mate and I think Autumn Bane is Nate Baird's mate I believe. I don't know if that will help with your decisions." Ethan said to me.

"Odessa, will be at the Ceremony tonight. She stopped by early this morning to get her dress from your sister." Ethan was smiling as he said this.

"Your sister was here this morning and no one said anything to me." I questioned Ethan.

"In our defense, you were still sleeping. Your parents didn't want you to be disturbed till lunch. Hence the lunch tray I brought you." Ethan said in a teasing tone.

"How is Odessa doing?" I asked slowly.

Ethan nodded his head.

"She's doing good, she owns "Celtic Knot Studios and Gallery" in town. She does pretty well. Odessa has been helping me with some of the pack finances.

Just then there was a knock at my door.

"Come in." I called to the person at the door.

"Your suit for tonight, Alpha Holden as requested by your mother, Luna Lara." Theo Parker said as he entered the room and bowed to Ethan and I. Theo had been in line for for a warrior position until his little brother had attack Odessa NorthStar. To which his disgrace had lost his family any chance of moving up in the ranks.

"Thank you, Omega Theo. How are the food preparation's coming?" I asked Theo.

"Very well, my Alpha. Everything will be as you requested." Theo bowed again with his fist over his heart as he excused himself from the room.

"You know as respectful as he and his parents are it's surprising what an ass, his little brother turned out to be." Ethan said as he looked at his watch.

"Well, I should get going. There are a few things I need to do. See you in a few hours." Ethan said as he placed his fist over his heart as he bowed in respect before leaving.

Odessa

My blonde hair was done in lose ringlets and piled on top of my head, while a few frame my heart shaped face. My dress was a silvery-blue with an empire waist skirt. The sleeves were off the shoulders and flowed down over my arms and hands.

I chose a light blue and silver eyeshadow and a clear shimmer lip gloss. My grandmother's Moonstone necklace hung down above my breast. I had on silver chunky heeled dress sandals.

The sun had set an hour ago. There were Alpha and Lunas from all over. Kayley was here with her mate Alpha Cordell Fey from the Ravenstone Pack, Luna Lisbeth Howl was here from the Moonlight River Pack. She had just found out her mate was Owen Clark. Alpha Tyler Banning and Luna Sable Banning were here from Clearstone Pack and Alpha Reese Krill was here from the Bloodstone Pack.

Along with several other Alphas with their Luna's. As I watched the Alpha Ceremony from afar I felt a familiar pull inside my minds-eyes. As the most heavenly smell of nighttime, leather and cinnamon flooded my senses from somewhere. It was then a faint voice spoke inside my head.

'Mate, our mate is near by some where.'

I was very aware of the voice, but was hurt that she waited so long to make herself known again. So I ignored her and continued to watch as Holden Silverlight made his vows to the pack. He and Alpha Ripley cut their right forearms before embracing their forearms together. Mixing their blood and allowing Alpha Ripley to pass some of his Alpha power to Holden. Holden then took a knee as the gold circlet crown was placed on his head. As he was crowned The Alpha of the Moonstone Pack.

I had come just like I promised and now I needed to get out of here. I then realized the heavenly smells from earlier were getting closer. I had a mate and he was here at Holden's Alpha Ceremony.

Holden

Elder Lester Jones and my father, Ripley Silverlight recited the pack vows to me.

"Do you, Holden Silverlight promise to protect and guide your pack with a firm but gentle hand. Protecting those under you care.

"I do." I said in response.

"Will you stand strong and unwavering when justice must be decided."

"I will."

My father and I cut our right forearms before embracing our forearms together. Mixing our blood and allowing my father to pass some of his Alpha power to me.

"Take a knee, Holden Joshua Silverlight II, with the power that was given to me by the Moon Goddess, Selena. I now give that power over to you." Alpha Ripley said to me as he took the gold circlet crown from the elder.

Setting it down on the crown of my head.

"I give you the new Alpha to the Moonstone pack. Alpha Holden Joshua Silverlight II."

Several pack members shifted to their wolf forms lifting their heads up to howl, in jubilation.

I was about to join them when Derek suddenly yelled inside my head.

'Stop, our mate is here, she's not far. If we shift we could scare her.'

Our wolf form would be massive now that we were the sole Alpha of the pack. Giving Derek's words some thought. I excused myself from my father and elder Jones.

As I walked away, I started to sniff the air. The scents of freesia, ginger blossoms and honeysuckle greeted me. I weaved my way passed people trying to make my way to her.

'Mate, she's close keep going. We're going to find her at last!'

The scent of our mate was getting stronger until we almost ran into her. She took several steps back as to not hit us.

"Oh. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to." She said to us in apology. Her blonde hair was curled into soft ringlets.

"No please, it was my fault I was in a hurry to find someone." I said trying to apologize.

When she looked up at us, we were greeted by the sapphire blue eyes of Odessa NorthStar.

Her eyes unexpectedly glowed a golden yellow as mine did the same.

We both whispered the same word. As we looked at one another.

"Mate!" We both said in unison.

Odessa

I had finally made up my mind to follow and find the source of the nighttime, leather and cinnamon scents. When I just about ran into someone. Taking several steps backwards to try to miss the person in front of me.

When I looked up I realized that Alpha Holden Silverlight was in front of me. He was wearing a deep silver-blue shirt underneath his black dress jacket. His hazel eyes were beautiful and seemed surprised to be running into me. I was shocked to feel Maya step forward briefly allowing my eyes to glow a golden-yellow. I gasped as I watched as Holden's eyes started to glow a golden-yellow as well. I was well aware of what it meant.

We then whispered the same word out loud.

"Mate!"

Before I realized what was happening he was holding my face gently in his hands. Holden ran his right thumb over my left cheek. Before his lips crashed into mine in an all consuming kiss.

Time seemed to slow and the world faded till it was just the two of us. Without breaking the kiss he lifted me into his arms bridal style and started walking away from the dinner party celebrating Holden as our new Alpha.

Once I realized he was heading towards the pack house I pulled out of the kiss to whisper.

"Not the pack house."

"Where then?" He asked in a husky tone. I could see he was fighting to keep in control to get where I want to go. He rested his forehead against mine.

"I have a private living space above my studio." I said as I chewed on my lower lip.

"Private, I like the sound of that. Stop biting your lip or we'll never make it to your studio." Holden said as he reluctantly set me down on the drivers side.

"You should probably drive. Seeing how Ive just gotten home a few days ago and have never been to your studio." Holden suggested as he opened the driver's side door.

I nodded my head yes. As he went to get in on the passenger side. I adjusted the seat a little before turning the key in the ignition, and putting on my seatbelt. I was a little surprised when I felt his left hand gripping my right thigh as I drove. I knew he was doing it to try and stay in control. The mate bond was pulling us toward one another. Holden's caress on my thigh was like million little explosions going off under my skin. It was madding.

Turning off on the road that led to the back entrance of my studio. I hastily pulled off the road and into one of the parking spots, behind the building. Getting to the door, I opened my purse to pull out my keys. I felt myself shiver as Holden's warm breath blew on my neck.

"If you don't hurry with the keys my wolf and I will take you right here." Holden whispered in my ear.

"I'm getting them." I fumbled with my keys as I unlocked the door.

I smiled as we interlocked our hands together as I led the way inside my studio and up the spiral staircase. Pulling him behind me through my kitchen till we made it to my bedroom. I wasn't sure where to start as I hadn't ever been with anyone.

Holden pulled me into a passion filled all consuming kiss. Fire was suddenly burning in the pit of my belly and I felt myself get wet with my arousal. I ended up pulling away from him.
