Chapter 17: Inner Turmoil

Odessa

After taking me up to my room, Holden laid me down in my bed and place a kiss on my forehead.

"I'm going to get us some breakfast and will be right back." Holden promised as he disappeared out the bedroom door.

A few minutes later he returned with a silver box with gold trim. Two to go cups sat on top of the box in a cup holder. I sniffed the air taking in the sweet smell of my S'mores latte.

"I saw the little bakery do the street the other day and thought it would be a nice little treat for us this morning." Holden confessed as he picked up his own coffee the scent of cinnmon coming from his cup. Maybe that was why he smelled like cinnmon.

I loved Ashely's Delights, She had the best cheese croissants, don't even get me started on her eclairs. Then as a after thought, I remembered that I had bagels, eggs and bacon in my air fryer that I had forgotten all about.

"Holden, your idea was sweet and the food was delicious. You distracted me from the fact that I had breakfast for us cooking in the air fryer. I was going to make us bacon, egg and cheese bagel sandwiches." I said slightly embrassed that I had forgot.

"No worries, Love I can but them together and warm them up and take them with me. Or I can go get them now. " After watching me for a moment. Holden left to get the food out of the air fryer.

After our yummy breakfast, I felt myself drift off to sleep in Holden arms.

A few hours later, I woke up alone in my bed. There was a note on Holden's pillow, it was for me.

Morning Love,

I had to run to the pack house and help Ethan with a few things. I will be back as fast as I can. I'm sorry I had to go back on my word. It couldn't be helped.

A sigh that I hadn't expected escaped my lips as I finished reading Holden's note. Putting my head down on my pillow I closed my eyes and let sleep take me. The only problem I woke up twenty mintues later covered in sweat. Getting out of my bed I ran into my bathroom and started the shower. I didn't even let the water warm up before I stepped under the water.

'This can't be happening, not this soon.' As the cold water hit my skin. My heat cycles have never been like all the other she-wolves I known. But they have never been this intense before. I stood under the flowing cold water until I couldn't feel my finger tips.

'We didn't have a mate before now we do, we can have more.'

My mother had told me that when the mate bond was strong enough, then pups would come sooner. She had seen it happen more then once. The weaker the bond the longer it would take to concieve a pup.

I was to afraid to move out of the shower so I sat on the floor of the shower away from the stream of water. I'm not sure how long I sat there in the until the warm scents of nigtfall, cinnamon and leather surrounded me.

"Odessa, love what are you doing sitting in a cold shower?" Holden asked as he rushed into the bathroom. He made it to the shower in four large strides.

Once the water was off, I truly realized that I was no longer hot but cold, so cold I was trembling. A warm fluffy towel was wrapped around me. Holden's strong arms wrapped around me as he lifted me into his arms. He started to rob me vigorously with the towel.

"Odessa, what's going on why were you in a cold shower? You're so cold now your lips are blue." Holden asked as he pulled me onto his lap.

"My...my heat is here. I was hot, sweaty and I couldn't stand it." I confessed to my mate. I smiled as I started to feel his body heat through the fluffy fabric of towel.

"So you thought you'd freeze yourself to death." Holden questioned.

"No, I wasn't planning on that it's just that this heat is the stronger then any of my heats before. You weren't home and I panicked." I admitted.

Holden placed a kiss on my forehead as he looked into my blue eyes.

"Next time, your heat comes and I'm not around. Mind-link me and I'll come straight home, no matter what." Holden said gently as he stroked my cheek. You shouldn't have to go through it alone."

'I don't even know if you want pups. Just because it's expected doesn't mean its want he wants.' I thought to myself.

"Do you want pups." I blurted out. I slapped a hand over my mouth when I realized I had said it out loud. Where the hell had my filter gone. It had to be the hormornes right, they were effecting my brain cells.

A small chuckle escaped Holden's lips as he smiled at me.

"Yes, Odessa I wanted pups. When it's the right time, we'll have a bunch of them. That is if that's something you want." Holden said there was a slight twinkle in his hazel eyes.

"Of course I do, my family has been the reason I stayed strong through lossing my wolf." I said to Holden before a yawn forced its way out of my mouth.

"You my Luna, should get some sleep. I'll be right here with you. We'll do what we need to help you through this." He then helped me under the covers and kissed me on the lips, before climbing under the covers himself.

I curled into his warm embrace as I felt myself drift off to sleep.

The sun was starting to set when I woke up again. I felt like I was too big for my skin. I was hot and my skin was flushed red to the touch. Holden was sleeping beside me, so I reached out to him through our special mind-link.

'Holden, wake up I need you. Please.' I called to him.

To my surprise and relief, Holden's hazel's snapped open and he sat up with a look of concern in his eyes.

"Odessa, what's wrong? Is your heat back, it's going to be ok I promise." Holden asked

"I need it to stop, I need you to make it stop." I was panting as I answered him.

There, was a part of me that wanted him to kiss me all the way down to my warm needing folds. But right now I didn't have time for that. The only thing that could get rid of the hot burning feeling I was going through right now was to have his big thick member buried deep inside me.

"I need you all of you, Holden." I informed my mate.

"Whatever you need, Love." Holden said in a husky tone.

I had awaken to Odessa mind-linking me. Her heat was back in full force. Odessa was in pain I would do anything to take the discomfort and pain she was in away.

She then told me she needed it to end, that she needed me to make it stop. My own arousal increased the minute Odessa said out loud that she needed to have all of me. Even though we had just come together again. Now that we were mated it was like Odessa had alway been there.

"Whatever you need, Love." I told her without being able to hide my own desire.

Odessa had turned on her left side now, by was still panting. Opening one of the bottles I set it down on the stand next to the bed, before helping my love sit up to drink.

"Here drink this it will help to hydrate you, drink slowly though." I told her as I picked up the bottle and put it to her lips.

"Thank you." Was all she said after she'd taken a drink. I fed her a few grapes before dipping the cloth into the bowl of water and started to dap the sweat from her forehead. Dipping it in the bowl once more I started to wipe the sweat from her chest and stomach as well. Goosebumps jumped up on her skin as I trail the cool wet cloth across her skin.

"Mmmmm, that fills like heaven." Odessa mumbled her eyelids were hoods over her eyes as she started to drift off.

I came back with a bowl of warm water, and began to gently clean her lower lips from our se.xual pleasure. We had been at it for the last sixteen hours. Odessa was exhasted, I wasn't sure how much more she could take. So I started racking my brain to come up with something that could help her.

The only thing my father and mother had told me this morning was to stay by Odessa's side.

'Feed whatever need that she needs to be fed, Holden. Heats can be hard on our she-wolves, even our strongest, Son.' My father had advised me this morning when I had felt Odessa's pain and discomfort. My mother had agreed with my father, before adding her own bit of advise.

'Talk to Edith she may be able to help. If anyone knows what Odessa is going through it would be her mother.'

So that is who I turned to.

'Edith, I need your help with something that require a feminine touch. It's about Odessa.' I added at the end.

'What is it, what is going on?' Edith asked there was panick in her voice.

'It's Odessa's heat is there something more I can do to help with it.' I asked.

'I'll be right there.' Came Edith's answer.

Before to much time had passed there was a knock on the back door to Odessa's studio.

Going down to greet her, I half expected her to push pass me to get to Odessa. But she didn't she just smiled at me, her blue eyes reminded me of Odessa's warm ones.

I was shocked when she pressed a tea tin into my hands.

"This tea should help with her heats. It helped me, I have to warn you. If her heats are as strong as you say, then be prepared to become parents sooner then you to planned. Edith said gently before placing a kiss on my forehead.

I gave my mother-in-law an odded look before something dawned on me.

"You're of Alpha blood aren't you? Cliff, Odessa's father is of Beta blood but you accepted it. That's why yours and now Odessa's heats have been so intense. She takes after you family doesn't she?" I said still watching for Edith's reaction.

She sighed in return. "I am, truth is my family wanted me to reject Cliff as my mate. However, I refused if the Moon Goddess had decided that Cliff NorthStar was mean to be my destined mate then there was a reason and I owed it to myself and the Goddess to see it though. I am originally from the Jade Valley Pack, we were once a mighty pack. Until my great-great-great-great grandmother failed to birth a pup. After, that my family begged the Moon Goddess for the females of our line to always be fertile and bear many pups." Edith confessed to me.

"The tea will help with how intense her cycles will be. But each cycle will incease how fertile she is. I am sorry that I have now passed my families burden to you." Edith said as she apologized to her Alpha.

As she turned to leave Holden picked up on a slight fluttering sound. He could also sense the older she-wolf's inner turmoil.

"Have you told your mate of the gift you are carrying now? You should tell him and take care of yourself." Holden in formed his mother-in-law.

A frowned appeared on Holden's face. When he realized that Odessa's mother was crying.

"Edith, why are you crying?" Holden asked.

"I can't tell anyone. If your mother knew I was pregnant, it would break her heart. She had tried to give you and Kayley another sibling but she couldn't. It didn't matter how hard your parents tried. Besides you sister and Wren are pregnant right now. It would be to strange for someone of my age to be pregnant too." Edith said to Alpha Holden.

Holden pulled Edith into a hug.

"I will meet you and Cliff at the pack clinic in five hours as soon as I know Odessa is ok. We need to make sure that your youngest son is well taken care of. If I know Cliff he knows already, he is just waiting for you to mention it" Holden said giving Edith a smile.

Wiping away her unshed tears. Edith gave Holden a hug before pulling away.

"Thank you, Alpha Holden." His mother-in-law said as she turned to get into her car.

"Don't mention it, you're my mother to now." Holden said as he waved her good-bye.

'Giles, can you send your mate to Odessa's to stay with her for a bit. I have something I need to go help with. Ethan, I'm going to need you and Wren's help as well. See if Autumn is willing to watch your sons.' Holden said through mink-link. Before, going to the kitchen to make Odessa some of the tea her mother had given him.
