Escaping to the unknown

  You think being born different and standing out from others would make you unique right? Well in my case you’re totally wrong, I'm a freak or at least that’s what I’m told by everyone I encounter. My name is Nailah, Nailah Lola Beelzebub and I have no idea who my father is but my mother is Lilith Satrina Eden. My mother said my father left when I was about a year old but being that it was so early in my life I have no memory of this. I am an 18 year old high school graduate who is stuck at home due to unfortunate family circumstances, or at least that’s what my mother keeps telling everyone. In reality they refuse to let me leave, her and her sorry excuse for a husband. If I ever try to run I will be beaten to a pulp with no sort of remorse. The main reason I’m considered a freak is I heal quickly, I can feel the pain but the scars don’t last long. I also can also hear others thoughts and hold a conversation in my mind with you. I was born differently, my mother says it’s because I’m defective but I simply just think it’s part of my black girl magic. They can beat me down and call me names but I’m completely comfortable with myself, I may have a few insecurities but what teenage girl doesn’t. I believe in myself and I truly believe that black is beautiful no matter the difference and because of this I will NOT be broken.
