Chapter 27
The morning seemed to come too fast. When Kris woke up, Korrin was already gone. She hadn’t even heard him get up. She wasn’t tired, but she would have given anything to spend the entire day in Korrin’s arms.
She slowly got around. Tawni helped her get a bath started. She insisted that Kris relax while she did it, but Kris refused. She wasn’t going to let someone else do all of the work for her. It was hard work, lugging all of the water around, and she had to let Tawni get the fire going to heat it, but eventually, she was relaxing in a warm bath that was partly due to her own hard work.
It felt good, and not just the water.
Afterward, she decided it would be a good time to find Korrin. She asked a guard where he was, but the guard was unable to tell her. Flustered
