Chapter 9 : The hunters.

974 Words
In the forest... - Anna!?, I shouted without response. Today was Anna's birthday. On this memorable day of hers, I decided to spend the whole day with her; since tonight we were going to have a slumber party all four together. That was why I had planned to have a little picnic just her and me and do some activities together before this famous evening. Yet I found Anna nowhere. Anna was neither at home, nor at the bakery, nor in the cabin, and even less by the river. I had waited for her and searched for hours all over the place to see her to start our program but she was nowhere to be found. She wasn't even in the library either. So I decided to go look for her in the cave where she had the strange habit of taking refuge lately to see if she was there. It was my last hope. But while I was going towards the cave, I had not suspected for a single second that someone was following me. - Anna!? Are you here ?! , I shouted in front of the entrance to the cave. She slowly came out of the cave after hearing his name. There was a man dressed in black who was in our cabin in the meantime. He looked like a starving person. He seemed to be looking for something because he had turned the cabin upside down. The man had black eyes. His skin was like that of a rotting corpse. He was searching for something that only he knew existed. Noting that what he was looking for was not in the cabin, he decided to jump to quickly be on the ground. When his feet landed on solid ground, Alexander suddenly appeared behind him as usual. - I found you!, said Alexander before slitting the man's throat without the slightest hesitation. While someone had just lost their life not far from me, I was waiting for Anna. I was sitting by the river watching Anna who was bathing. She was covered in mud from sleeping on the floor in the dusty little cave. Anna was turning towards me since she had her back to me. She seemed to observe something, or rather someone. There was someone standing behind me. Well, it was Alexander. He was behind me. He was there to check if we were okay. - Anna? I asked. I turned around to see what she was looking at. But... There was nobody. Anna then came out of the water. She then asked me to go into the cave to get some clothes she had put aside in case she needed them. I then carried out his request. When Anna kicked me far enough away from her, she went back into the water. - Stop rinsing your eyes and go chase your prey dear hunter, tell Anna to Alexander who was hiding behind a tree. Alexander went out and he looked at the sky. - I want Cassandra to leave the forest before she is in danger, said Alexander. - As much as a hunter you should ensure the protection of all and not appear in front of the people you protect, said Anna. - Yes I am well aware of it... But in case or protects her... If she finds out what I am she will say to me: "no" too... - I know Cassandra, she's not that kind of person. She loves people and she wants equality for all no matter what we are... Cassandra will never reject us... - If so, why don't you tell your best friend your secret?, asked Alexander coldly. When I returned, Alexander was not there. He wasn't even watching us anymore. Alexander was running at breakneck speed as if he weren't human. He was more like a wild animal that was stalking its prey. - This way!, said a young girl who was with Alexander. Alexander seemed to be chasing after the man who had followed me earlier. The girl who was with Alexander seemed to know him well. This girl was quite mysterious. She was tall and thin. Her hair was very long black in color besides she also had black eyes. She was so thin and so beautiful that you would think she was a great famous model. The man they were tracking fell. Which had allowed Alexander to catch up with him. The girl took the man by the collar of his black shirt before throwing him into the background for Alexander to catch him. Alexander caught the man with one hand before slamming him down hard. Faced with this, the man spat blood. - How many are you at the end? I'm tired of looking for you one by one in this forest without knowing if there are still some or not!, threatened Alexander to the man who was now scared to death. - He doesn't understand what you are telling him, say the girl to Alexander. - I'll make him talk, you'll see, said Alexander to the girl. - Leave it, I'll do it, she answered - All right. Yours in honor my dear, Alexander said with an evil smile on his face. Alexander let go of the man and thereafter, the young girl began to beat him each as violently as the previous one. The man after receiving several blows and wounds begged Alexander to stop this torture. - Who are you?, the man asked Alexander. - The error of nature finally speaks, said the girl laughing. - We are the hunters, had answered Alexander before giving the final blow to the man by cutting off his head. At the same time, a loud scream was heard throughout the forest causing concern to Alexander and the girl who was with him. - Woe, thought Alexander.
