Megan seemed to be the only one who was truly shocked by the stories Zoe had to tell them. Of course, Aiden and the sheriff, both being in law enforcement, had heard and seen things like this over and over. Megan wasn't naïve. She was fully aware there was evil of the world and people were more than willing to walk over the little guy to get ahead, but as she listened to Zoe, she felt like she was hearing Charles Dickens tale—the one with Oliver Twist.
