FOUND HER
*Dalia's point of view* At times, the universe verbatim has a sick sense of hilarity and puts you in a mess because you are too curious to traverse the outer regime. Yes, my innate curiosity or, more accurately, my killer strangeness, which resulted from my desire to discover a world different from my own, drove me to hell. As the saying goes, catnip kills curiosity. Now I know what that expression implies. Up until that sad day, I had been happy living in my own land with my family and friends. The other day, I believed that taking a step forward to become recognised by the outside world was a great and brave decision. The realm of other species from ourselves, the world of freedom where there are no guardians present, the world of style, youth, and... "GET UP!" I was jerked from my thoughts and off the floor by a stern order. I have no idea how long I have been lying on the floor, which has been dead for a very long time. I was wriggling in a virulent, arrogant man's hand. "Do you certainly consider this destitute, homeless-looking human, my mate?" A reverberating though humble words entered my ears. I struggled to open my hazy eyelids so I could see a new voice above my flowing red hair in this dimly lit room, but I was unable. I was unable to regain my composure. The unidentified medicine that these folks keep putting into me each day prevented me from regaining complete consciousness. I was persistently trying to regain awareness up till... "Don't be fooled by her appearance, Alpha; she quickly knocked down three of our strong pack members." The obnoxious man gently retorted while tightening his hold on my arm. "Aahh!" I hissed as he pressed the wounds on my arm, "You are misjudging; this time, you made a serious mistake. She is not my mate, and I have never acknowledged her as such. I CANNOT have a HUMAN as my partner!" The unassuming man roared infuriatingly, saying something that went over my head. "Human????" I mumbled groggily. "Please try to comprehend, Alpha." That evil man let go of my hand, and I once more helplessly fell to the ground. He walked away from me and politely asked the other man, "Don't you remember the prophecy of the Moon Goddess?" "Someone will appear out of the blue as our Alpha's mate on a new moon night and come to free us from the curse." he dramatically recalled. "I remember everything!" The alpha exclaimed, grinding his teeth. "Yes, alpha, we discovered this girl on the night of the new moon; she suddenly appeared in front of us. She had an angelic smile and a divine aura." "The moment we tried to capture her, she turned wickedly strong and furious. She fiercely defended herself and fought back like a warrior. She is definitely the one!" He added, telling the tale. "I don't think so; it's just a coincidence. She might not know how to get back home, either she might be high on drugs, or she might even be a spy." "Yes, it's likely that the rivalry pack installed a spy in this location and disguised it to look like a prophecy!" The alpha added with assurance, presuming some nefarious plot. I was crouching half-dead on the floor, pushing back my tears of pain and cursing my preparedness to conk out of my place. "How do you know me?" he gently questioned me, while squatting on the floor next to me, I've been brought here, and this is the first time anyone has ever treated me nicely. "I....I....". "Where is your residence?" Before I could respond to the first inquiry, he asked another. "Water," I mumbled "Do you need water?" He kindly confirmed, I disagreed with him, but he didn't notice as I shook my head. "Get her some water." He swiftly ordered the other man. He assisted me in sitting and gently supported the wall with my back. I'm gathering vocabulary to respond to his inquiries, but how can I prove my originality to these strange human wolves? His eyes caught mine. The sole piece of clothing I was wearing was already ripped, so as soon as he turned his attention to me, I started to cover my exposed legs with my hands as he continued to look at me because the sole piece of clothing I was wearing was already torn and barely covered my ass. He gave me a disdainful expression while rolling his eyes all over my body. "Water." His gaze was broken by the other man. Without pausing to glance at me, he stood up from his place and pushed the dust from his hands. He made another order. "Go get her some food and tidy clothing." "Follow that, just leave her where you found her." He was emphatic. "Indeed, Alpha!" The other man nodded obediently. "On behalf of my pack, I apologise. Kindly forgive them for harshly treating you." He heartedly apologized, kneeling in front of me, boring into my eyes. I gazed into those turquoise eyes and slowly began to regain my senses. Such brilliant, mesmerising eyes have never before been seen. He kept asking for my pardon while I continued to stare into his eyes, reading his woes, feeling his traumas, and yearning for his true love. Dalia, did you just utilise your mermaid abilities to recognise him? My lips started to smile as my head queried, wondering whether I was regaining my lost abilities. "Why are you smiling?" He chuckled softly, The dimples on his cheeks and the gleam in his eyes enhanced his allure. "Would you kindly forgive?" "Hello, Miss?" he tenderly quaked my shoulder to bring me back. I waggled my head, trailing back to my miserable situation. "Can you please forgive all of us and direct us to your place?" he modestly inquired. "I have nowhere to go," I made a dejected reply. I made this statement because there is no welcome back to the water realm. Once you exit, no one can guide you back inside. "What?" he was startled. Turning his attention to the other man, he remarked, "See, Kang I told you, she is homeless, if not a spy," he said, turning his head towards the other man. "What's your name?" he interrogates. "Dalia!" I lowly answered, staring at him. He took a brief pause, took a big breath, and then leapt to his feet once more. His face went red with rage as his once-sparkling eyes caught fire. "What's wrong with him?" I questioned in my head, as his mirror images made me shudder. I jerked my eyes in dread towards Kang, who had the same face of oblivion as I did. "I CAN'T HAVE HER AS MY MATE! YOU ARE NOT THE CHOSEN ONE!" He made a loud, fist-clenching snarl.
