Odette's POV "You seriously must be kidding me. I haven't seen this man since I was in highschool and you're telling me I was sold to you? What kind of sick joke is that?” I yelled after him, making him stop in his tracks to finally look down at me. Before him, I looked so short and the height difference alone was enough to scare me. “I don't think you understand the situation you're in. If you aren't ready to do as I say, then you can just pay back the entire money I just spent on getting you.” He said quite cold. “And trust me, even if you worked your ass off for your entire life time, you won't be able to pay the billions of dollars you were sold for with the penny you'll end up scrambling to earn out there.” “I don't know who the f**k you are, Mr Black. Whatever business you have to do with Uncle John, it's between you two, no need to bring me into this. I'm already trying hard enough to keep my sanity.” I yelled at him, frustrated while trying to hold back tears. Do they seriously have to make my life even more miserable than it was. I was just met with the news that one shady company paid off my debt and now the chairman was standing before my apartment, before me even, telling me I belong to him because I was sold to him by an uncle I know nothing of his whereabouts and haven't seen since he and his family abandoned me years ago. “You're quite feisty for a recessive omega, don't you think.” He said and suddenly, his pheromones flared, making me go week in the knees. I couldn't hold it anymore and fell on my knees, my heart thumping hard and my insides turning. Pheromone of alpha to omegas could arouse them and could also weaken them. I was strong again majority of alpha pheromones but his was just so strong and thick that it filled my senses to weaken me instantly. “I thought so,” he tutted, disappointment obvious in tone. “When you go through the paperworks and prepare yourself, just come to the company tomorrow, my assistant will bring you in.” That was all he said before leaving my kneeling there, tears welling up in my eyes. What have I been pushed into just because I haven't escaped since all these years and changed my identity? The fact that I was an omega was just a curse to me and it made me hate those bastard alpha more and more by every torture I got from them. Now I've been trapped in a deal I knew nothing of? What type of deal was he going to use me for now that I have been branded as his without even knowing why. “Mum, tell me what do I do?” I shivered as I brought my knees up to my chest, trembling slightly, tears streaming down the corner of my eyes. My life has never gone has planned. It was always give a thing and something valuable would be taken from you in return. I was used to the situation but it hurts every single time. Now I have to be bound to some alpha who I can't even think of what he will do to me now. I could just run away but I don't have anywhere to go to. And if we're talking about the Black family I know, no matter what end of the earth I run to, they will most likely find me and my punishment would be even larger than it should already be. Picking up the papers, my eyes fell on the conditions he wanted to use me for. According to it, it wasn't decided but I have to meet up with the other party to discuss things. It made me a bit at ease because I won't be forced into nonsense right from the start. But I knew it was still too early to talk about that. I played my my fingers as I watched the numbers displayed in the elevator gradually going up and the same man who I saw guarding my apartment back then was standing in front of me with his hands behind him. He looked intimidating and from his scent, I could tell he was an alpha. Inhaling scents of too many dominant alphas today was already having a toll on my head. It was rare to come in contact with dominant alphas since they were majorly high class set of people. I noticed most of his guards were dominant alphas too. “We're here.” He said, his deep and intimidating voice pulling me out of my thoughts and we were standing before two huge black doors with golden trims. He pused the double doors open and the woody scent mixed with a familiar alpha's thick pheromone flowed to my nose, making my knees feel like jelly but I put myself together, walking ahead away. “Boss, she's here.” The man who followed me in said and I looked in the direction he was seated. He was behind his desk with the head name, Chairman Alec Black. He lifted his gaze from his laptop and his gaze fell on me. “You can leave, Kang.” He ordered the man who just brought me in and he bowed before walking out of the room. He didn't say a word again and just sat there for a few minutes before standing up with a cigarette in his mouth. “I thought you would be stubborn and won't come here.” He said, flicking his lighter on to light the cigarette. The truth was as, I didn't want to come but what if he made whatever he wanted me for worse? Then if my life was meant to be a tad bit better than my normal life, I would just make it much more worse due to my disobedience. “Y-you asked me to come over.” I stuttered, grabbing the end of my clothes nervously. “Take your seat, I won't eat you.” He said and I did as he asked, settling on one of the sofas. He walked over, sitting on the only single sofa in the room with a black folder in his hands. “Odette Stone, twenty three years old, orphan.” He read out from the folder he had in his hand. “Nothing interesting to see. What should I even do with you? Why did I buy you again?” “Please stop referring to me like I was bought from a market. Even if I was sold, it was against my wish and I don't like being addressed as such.” I said with a frown but on the inside, my heart was thumping harshly against my ribcage. I really said it. He looked up at me with his chin resting in his knuckles. His expression wasn't one I could read which made me nervous that I might have crossed the line. I just said what I felt which I was used to but saying something like that in front of an alpha such as him who was obviously a stern type, was he going to kill me? “Looking at your qualifications, I can start with a job to suppress your feistiness, what do you think?” He smirked as he slammed the folder on the table, making me tremble. I gulped, waiting for whatever it is he had in store for me. It was definitely my end now. “As of today, you're my secretary.” “What?”
