Chapter4

Alec’s POV I could see her tremble as she drove ahead. For the past few days she's arrived, I wondered what she must have gone through in order to act all protective with her walls up, but that was the least of my worries, really. “We're here.” She announced, getting out of the car to pull the door open for me. What will I do with her? A tut escaped my lips as I walked past her, heading towards the rooftop club and she came behind me. I expected something more challenging when she confronted me like that the day I went to get her from her apartment, but now she was dall timid. “Tch.” I groaned. I sat on the VIP table, looking around as I was served my usual drink. From the look on Odette's face, I could tell it was her first time in an environment like this. “You know.” I said, pouring myself a glass of whiskey as I watched the brown liquid swirl I'm the cup. “If you act like that, anyone can easily tell it's your first time being in a club, and trust me, I won't intervene.” “I-It’s just fancy that's it.” She replied, looking back at the glass of cocktail she had ordered. Her character was the least of my worries since I had to take care of my mother now. I had my reasons dor refusing to see her this past months, because of this same issues of having a bride. I don't see the need in it to get married to anyone. There's no woman out there worthy of the title of Mrs Black. What they all wanted was my money and the good life I could give to them. I wasn't looking for love or commitment with anyone, but a woman who wasn't a stuck up like the rest would be good. “Y-you said you will tell me how I'll pay back the debt. I want to be able to pay you myself so I'll keep a track on the debt.” She suddenly said, making me look in her direction. She looked calm and timid, unlike the first time I met her. To be honest, the debt was something I could easily ignore and forget about but she was just intriguing enough for me to keep. “I haven't decided yet. You can work for me in one of my establishments. As an hostess in the club, a waitress at the restaurant or a waitstaff.” I said nonchalantly. Before she could reply, my phone started to vibrate. Picking it up, I headed out of the place to take the call. “Speak.” I commanded, lighting a cigarette to take a smoke. “The shipments you requested have arrived alpha, but we have an issue.” The speaker, my third in command, Drake, informed me. “There's been a wrong seizing of the goods by City B. They do you believe you own the shipments.” I scoffed, pulling out the cigarette in my mouth. Not everyone believed I ran shady businesses underground, so it was natural I wasn't ready to let anyone in on it untill I brought down everyone I was here for. “I shouldn't tell you they shouldn't know again, should I?” “Yes boss.” He said before hanging up. Standing on the balcony, I looked up at the city below, it wasn't a pleasant experience to be an alpha here, the burden which is passed on us was extreme and being an omega is worse because they're main purpose is to be used by us alphas. Being an alpha in the Black family, they had very high expectations of you and the last omega we had ended up ending her life because of the shame and stigma she got from her own family. It was an enclosed secret so no one knew we had an omega in our family. This makes me hate the Black family more and more, but I just had to stay at the top of the company if I wanted to have a life different from those omega. Refusing the family's traditions is the same as being an outcast but I was free on the aspect of marriage. After that I was given the freedom to do what I like. “Aish… damn it.” I cursed, gesturing to the waitress who was carrying a bottle of whiskey and other alcohol around. “Yes, alpha Black.” She bowed, leaving me on the balcony after serving me. Leaving Odette alone worried me for a few seconds, but if I wasn't there, I'm sure she will be able to take care of herself. I don't even know why I desired to keep her. I could have just thrown her away like those other omegas. There was something about her look, she seemed to have genuinely gone through s**t just to take care of the debts that has been passed on to her. “f**k… why do I care.” I gritted my teeth, downing the glass of alcohol with me before filling up another. I just wanted to drink away all my worries and make sure I'm unable to think about all this pressure. I didn't know how much time had passed but I was feeling dizzy already. The alcohol I chose was much stronger than those I get. I wasn't a light drinker, but there are some types of alcohol I drink that I instantly get drunk and my mind and sight gets fuzzy this must have been one of them. “f**k… Odette…” I called out, heading towards the club room where she was. I knew she wouldn't go after me because I had a temper that she wouldn't like to get rid of. “f**k… why do I care?” I sat there, trying to take a smoke. “There he his.” I heard a scared voice, letting out a sigh. “You've been away for a while…” I suddenly grabbed something, else feeling the heat against my lips, I thrusted my tomgue forward and I heard a soft moan, but I was already getting aroused just by this. “f**k… so soft.” By the time I woke up, I the sun was up and the ray of sunlight was seeping into the room I was in. I noticed I didn't remember coming in here, making me let out a frustrated groan. “Do I seriously have to drink that much?” I beated myself before turning to notice I wasn't the only one in bed. Odette was laying there, looking all beat. The upper part of her nose was a bit swollen and I could see bite marks all over her back. “f**k…” I groaned, the memories of spending the night with her rushing into my memories. The swollen part of her nose was probably due to inhaling my scent for too long. Some omegas were sensitive to pheromones and she must be one of them. As I was still busy in my thoughts, she shifted in bed, finally opening her eyes. As her eyes met mine, she suddenly sprang up in bed, holding the sheets around her body. I totally ignored her before walking into the bathroom to clean up. “Ish, it stings.” I gritted my teeth as the sopa touched my back. Looking at it, I could see scratch marks all over. “Dang it, is she a cat?” “Let's talk.” I said, walking out of the bathroom. She was already in a bathrobe waiting for me to come out, her hands trembling. She limped over to the seat and I thought she was overreacting. It wasn't the first time I was having an overnight with someone and they weren't like this. “Just forget about last night, I'll remove a million from your debt as compensation.” I said. “What? Do you think you can just buy sleeping with me like that? You have no heart.” She snapped, wincing slightly. “It's not like this is your first time.” I tutted. In the Black family, even if we were to f**k around with ladies, we never take their first time without a mode of commitment. It wasn't known to just everyone but just the family and our mosy trusted assistant. But from the look on her face, I could tell I was wrong. It was her freaking first time. Why didn't I notice? Dang it. “f**k…” What did I just get myself into.
