Raven's POV I stepped over the body on the gravel driveway, my gun still warm in my hand. Detective Reeves wouldn't be asking questions anymore. Neither would his two officers. Victor stood by the police car, wiping blood from his face with his sleeve. "You good?" I asked. "Yeah." He nodded, not meeting my eyes. "You?" "Been better." The cabin door hung open, warm light spilling out into the growing darkness. I paused at the threshold, listening. Movement inside. Tiara was up. "Stay here," I told Victor. "Make this mess disappear." He nodded again, that strange distance still in his eyes. Something was off with him, had been since we arrived. One more problem I didn't have time for.
