The Date
Checking himself on the mirror, Jason smoothed out his goatee and licked his lips. Dusting off his black polo, his brother Alex appears on the mirror and shakes his head.
"What?"
"What? Just watching you make an ass of yourself."
Jason huffed and laughed, shaking his head he turns towards his younger brother.
"You're just jealous. I have a date and you don't. Ha!" Turning back around towards the mirror and started making faces. Alex shook his head and laughed.
"Nigga, you're an ass. Why? Because, you didn't do the same for Becca when you were going with her."
Jason stopped making faces, and stared at himself at the mirror. His tanned skin and dark brown eyes and high cheek bones, every girl would love to be with him. All the mothers at the field would swoon when he would walk by them, pull on his umpires mask and start up the games. Baseball mom's, gotta love em. Jason laughed and looked at his watch.
"s**t, gotta go. She should be downstairs already." Jason pushed passed his brother and ran into the bedroom. Alex followed behind, rolling his eyes as he watched his brother splash on some cologne.
"So, you're telling me that you're over Becca?"
Placing the cologne on the night stand, he looked at the mirror above it. Becks' beautiful face appeared. Her soft lips, hazel eyes, long black hair that he loved running his fingers through. Jason remembered the smell of her hair, and inhaled, then quickly exhaled as he snapped himself out of his daydream. "That was the past."
"Didn't seem like that last night, when you were staring at her f*******: pics."
Jason scowled at his brother, asshole. If Alex didn't look so much like him he would've decked him. Grabbing the house keys, he walked towards his mother and kissed her forehead.
Ana turned to him and smiled. "You look so handsome, as always. Are you meeting with Becca?"
Rolling his eyes, Jason shook his head. "No mom. I have a date with a beautiful woman."
Turning on his heels, he walked out the door, "I'll see you later, my hot date is waiting."
"Whatever dude. Hope she's a monster." Alex yelled sarcastically as Jason lightly shuts the door. Shaking his head, Alex walks towards the window which overlooked the front entrance of their apartment building. Ana stood next to him watching as well with her brows knotted.
"What happened between him and Becca? I really liked her, very sweet young lady."
"Jason let her go. He didn't even try to give her a chance or an explantion." Rubbing his head he watched Jason walk out of the apartment building and stopped under the overhang. “I think that it was more that he caught feelings for her and got scared.”
Across the street a red 2016 Subaru flashes its headlights. Jason looked up and smiled at his brother. Waving at them, he jogged across the street and opened the passenger door. The headlights shined as the Subaru was put into reverse and did a U-turn on Allen Street driving off towards East Houston Street.
Alex stepped away from the window and sighed. Closing the curtains he turns and saw his mother's worried expression.
"Jason is 30 years old, he knows what he's doing and he knows what he wants. I think el es estupido! But, he's still your brother. I really liked Becca, even though it was very short lived."
Breathing in, Jason scratches his head and rolls his eyes. “I know. For a man who had it good before, he’s being really reckless running away from his feelings. He never showed any emotion towards the last few he has dated, but Becca… She was different… Special even.” Shaking his head he walks up to his mother and kisses her forehead, then smiled.
Ana, blinked feeling her sons lips on her forehead then turned around and walked towards the kitchen. Alex walked towards his laptop and logged into his f*******: account. Seeing that his friends were online, he started to browse around and stumbled onto one of Jason's Status'.
"Hooking up. A night out in the city. Gonna drink and get lucky... Maybe, lol"
Alex rolled his eyes, what a punk ass!
*****************************************************************************************Music blasting, the speedometer reaches 65 on the FDR drive. Driving smoothly past other cars, it felt as if it was gliding on ice. Jason looked out the window and watched the cars go by. The river looked so peaceful, they passed under one of the bridges heading uptown to a club on 57th street. Jason turned to look at this magnificent beauty that was handling the car expertly. Beautiful long auburn hair, loose and curly draped over her shoulder. Long sexy lashes, covering her blue eyes. Her skin was tanned, but had a very pale look. Her wrist showed her light blue veins running up her arms. She wore a blue tube dress, which showed the shape of her large round breasts. Her pink nails, matched her small pouty lips. Jason shook his head as the smell of honey and sugar hung in the air.
What is her name? Aww, crap! Did I bother asking her, when I saw her at the track? s**t!
Jason bit his bottom lip as he tried to remember her name. She glanced over at him and smiled. f**k is she reading my mind? Stupid, think, think. She maneuvered the car off the drive towards 50th street, and continued to drive passing the avenues until she stopped at a red light for a quick second then turned on Broadway and continued driving. The car started to slow down and pull over. Finding a great parking spot, she quickly parked the car with ease.
Taking a deep breath, she turned towards Jason and smiled. Damn, she's so alluring, exotic. His breath got caught in his throat as a name appeared. Her smile glowed, and her eyes sparkled. When she spoke, all he heard was a soft whisper, hypnotizing him.
"Ready to go in?"
Again his breath got caught in his throat. "Umm, uh... Yea! Let's go."
Jumping out of the car, Jason closes the door and watched her walk around the car and grabs his hand. Electricity ran through his hand up to his spine. He felt as if he was sleep walking, in a cloudless haze, he placed his arm around her small waste and walked into the club. Never would I walk into a club without being stopped and asked for ID at the front, let alone get searched. The bouncers moved to the side as they strolled in past the long waiting line. They were waved through and they passed the cashier who was collecting payments and stamping wrists before entering the club. Two men in black suits walked towards them and escorted them to a private room.
Wow, that's cool. She pulled Jason into the private room, where he was introduced to loud jazz music and people either dancing, lounging around with drinks in their hands or talking to one another. Everyone seemed so laid back and enjoying the night.
Jason continued to observe everyone he passes and noticed that they are all beautiful. A man walked away from the small crowd near the bar and smiled. He walked towards them and gave the sexy girl a hug and kiss.
"Jason, this is my brother Sean."
Sean took his hand out and shook Jason's hand with a tight squeeze. His smile and green eyes were as hypnotic as his sister's. What's her name again? Damn. Jen? Jess... A name quickly appeared again as a whisper in his ear.
"Nice to meet you. My sister has told me so much about you."
Sean's voice was very deep. His muscles bulged out from under his dark blue dress shirt. His skin had the same tone as Jennifer. That's her name, Jennifer.
"Oh, really? We only just met a week ago. I really don't know much about her, but I'm hoping to find out." Jason weakly smiled while shaking Sean's hand.
Sean snickered, "My sister has a habit of making good decisions, and her judgment is always accurate."
Jason smiled and felt dizzy. Every word that came out of Sean's' mouth was suffocating; making his heart beat fast. What the hell? What is wrong with me? Jason drifted into space, while Jennifer pulled him towards the rest of her friends and started talking. His mind swam while they asked him questions. He answered every question without missing a beat. Feeling as if he was going to fall in a black whirl pool, he walked towards the bar and sat on the stool. The bartender, red hair and mustache pours beer from the tap, and passes the mug over to Jason. Thanking the bartender, he took a long drink. The cold liquid poured into his throat, calming him down. Funny, this is my only drink, why do I feel drunk already? Finishing off the mug, he passes it back to the bartender, who continued to pour more from the tap. Hands started to rub his shoulder, the smell of honey came back again. Looking over at Jennifer's' blue eyes, staring into his.
"Why are you being so anti-social?"
"I'm not being anti-social, just not feeling so well, for some reason. Could've been something I ate."
Jennifer's eyes twinkled as she rubbed his neck and slowly moved down to his chest.
"I figured. You don't seem the introvert type." She whispered in his ear.
Jennifer waved at the bartender, and whispered something in his ear. He nodded and disappeared behind the bar. Jennifer's blue dress, hugged her shape, not only showing her big breasts but also showing her nice ass. Jason covered his smile, when she turned to face him. Her dark lashes, made her blue eyes bigger and more hypnotic. Leaning close to Jason she blew onto his neck, letting the goose bumps rise.
Becca's face appeared in his mind again. Her creamy olive skin, beautiful nose and her big hazel eyes. He fell in love with her eyes. Remembering, the smell of her skin, and the feel of it when he would brush his fingers across her cheeks. Damn, I can't get over her. Jason's mind was brought back to the bar, staring into Jennifer's eyes again. Motioning for him to leave with her, he slid off the stool, and followed her out of the room.
