Being with my mate even for a few hours has already made my wolf Odin and I felt stronger. I have missed this girl so damn much. It's crazy to think that I have been in love with her all my life just to find out we were mates and she loves me just as much. She doesn't care about status like a lot of females do who try to throw themselves at me.

I f****d up a few times and let my urges overcome me, but as soon as I realized Anna was my mate, I never looked at another. I still blame myself for hurting her before I knew, but she won't hear any of it. She is the kindest soul I have ever met. She's never treated me any differently than what anyone else has ever treated me. She is the definition of perfection and my

heart grows for her more and more every time I look into those mesmerizing eyes. I'll gladly renounce my title for her if anyone ever felt as if they couldn't accept the two of us. Even if we have to run away together.

I'd hate for her to have to leave her family though, and I would never want to take her away from them either, but I can't live without her either. I just hope one day her father can see passed all of this. I have to keep telling myself that I am nothing like the man and woman who created me. I could never be so cruel. Or at least I hope not.

A knock sounded on my door. I know it was not Anna. She was about half asleep when we got back. I answered but barely opened the door since I was in a towel, I was about to get in the shower and it is already 3 in the morning.

A tall and stocky man was standing in the door way.

You're Onyx, right?

Uh. Who is asking?

The name is Drew, Future beta of Silver Moon.

This peaked my interest. I have been waiting for a run in with this guy to figure out his intentions with my mate.

What can I help you with Drew?

The alpha and Luna, along with Ryder and Ryker, were requesting your presence in the Alphas office.

At 3 in the morning, Drew? I sneered at him.

Uh, Yea sorry about the time. He wanted it earlier but we were informed that you were out on a run with Annalisia.

OK, Well uh. You mind giving me 10 minutes. I was about to get in the shower.

He linked to someone, who I guess was Alpha Landon. Yea, Alpha says that is fine.

I shut the door before he could say

anything else. I wonder what this is about. Maybe training? Who knows? I hopped in the shower and quickly washed and rinsed off, then got out and dressed in a tank and basketball shorts, then ran the towel through my hair to at least dry it a little. I left my room and went to the Alphas office.

As soon as I got there, I knocked on the door and it was opened immediately. I stepped in and there were obviously more people in there than Drew had said. I looked at him as he was seated along with his father. He started to squirm a bit in his seat. If I didn't know any better, this would feel like a set up to me.

Alpha, Luna. I greeted them. What's with the urgency of having to be here at 3 in the morning?

Onyx, Luna Lariyah greeted. We apologize for such a late meeting. We wanted to talk to you about Anna.

What about Anna? The mention of my mate made my heart rate rise, Odin was on the surface. We didn't know if this was about to get bad or not.

Well, Luna cleared her throat, then continued. For some reason, when I went to talk to Anna earlier tonight she ended up not wanting anybody to go with her to her first shift, but then we heard from Jason that you had went with her. She wouldn't talk to us and we were just wondering if something was wrong with her?

Wouldn't that be something you'd have to talk to Anna about? I mean, I knew something was wrong with her but we didn't talk about it.

Alpha Landon then spoke. I don't want to beat around the bush here Onyx, So I'm going to lay it all out on the table and hope you will do the same.

Okay?

I know you and Anna have always been close, but what I really want to know is, is something going on with you and my daughter?

I know I am not king yet, but damn if Odin and I didn't feel the hostility going on in the room, I shifted at this uncomfortable subject. I didn't like being questioned like this and felt as if I was being disrespected. So, of course, I am getting a little frustrated with this subject. Luna Lariyah immediately countered the subject though.

What my husband means to say is that we wouldn't mind if something was going on with you and Anna. We love the both of you. We just want to make sure that nothing would be getting in the way if the two of you were ever to find your mates.

Little did anyone in this room know that Anna and I were already mates.

With all due respect, Alpha Landon and Luna Lariyah, but wouldn't this subject be best sorted out with Annalisia present? I don't see why we have to have an audience here with Anna and I and Anna is not even in this room.

Ryder and Ryker are here because of their Alpha training, and it is their sister. My beta and Drew are here because this is my pack and I don't feel as if I need you to question my motives.

Now Landon is getting irritated with me and it shows.

Landon! Lariyah scolded. Onyx is our guest and the future king. We did not call him in here to treat him as if he were some kind of criminal. He is right. Anna should be here for this conversation.

He is not king yet. Landon said under his breath, barely audible, but with our wolf hearing we all heard.

I scowled.

Do I need to get my beta and gamma and pack up and go? I was under the

impression that I would be here for training. Not to feel as if I had done something wrong. I said as I stood up, I could easily go train at another pack or just have my father train me himself and go with him on his tasks and duties. I have been preparing for this s**t since I could walk.

Luna Lariyah walked around the desk towards me.

No! Onyx. We apologize honey. We don't mean to offend you. We're just worried about Anna. Don't mind Landon, she said as she looked at him with a scowl.

Look, if you really want to know what is wrong with Anna, then maybe you should come clean with her and stop pretending as if she doesn't need to know that the fate of our future doesn't lie within her. Don't you think she needs to know that she is the only one who can save our kind? That our lives literally fall in to her hands! I am damn near seething at this point. The audacity for them to question my motives all while withholding the most important information from their daughter.

Landon, Lariyah and Ajak looked completely stunned, while Ryder, Ryker and Drew looked confused. I guess they don't know about the prophecy either. f*****g unbelievable.

Onyx. We don't know if it is even about her. Ajak spoke up.

But you all suspect it is! This wasn't a question, I was stating facts. If they wanted an audience for this reason alone, then they got it but maybe next time they will update all the necessary information.

Maybe we should all take a breather and continue this tomorrow. Does that work for everyone? Luna Lariyah questioned.

Everyone sighed and eventually nodded their heads.

Fine by me. I said as I turned to head for the door, but then when I reached it to walk out, I stopped myself and turned back around to say something else.

Oh and Alpha Landon? Everyone in the room turned their attention back to me, but my attention was on him.

I am NOT Dalton or Lacey. I have never given you the indication that I am anything like either one of them. No matter how much you think we favor in appearance, I will never be them.

They looked shocked that I knew about this as well. All the while, Ryder, Ryker and Drew still looked confused, but unlike them, my father didn't withhold valuable information that I would need to know. I'm sick of this s**t and the way he thinks he can treat me because of some dead and miserable, psychopathic wolf.

I knew I wasn't getting no sleep tonight, so I rolled my eyes and left. I needed to shift, to run out Odin's anger, and that is just what I did until morning came and I finally headed back to the Alphas' house. Where I know I am not wanted. I could call my father, but what is that going to do besides make me have to leave my mate? I'd do anything for her, even this. To death and beyond is where I'd go for her and it's looking as if I am about to have many sleepless nights just to prove myself.
