I woke up startled. I sat up immediately as I remembered everything that had happened and screamed Jackson!

My heart was pounding, my chest rising and falling. I felt as if I couldn't breathe correctly. I killed my baby brother. I knew I had brought him back but bringing someone back from the dead is not without consequences. I never knew what would happen since I had never done it except with a deer. I happened to come across a baby fawn crying one day and as I drew closer, the baby was laying on it's dead mother with gunshot wounds. I knew it must have been a human hunting but I couldn't bear to leave it without it's mother so I brought her back to life. I knew not to do it again because not even moments later, the fawn was killed right before my eyes. I heard a whisper in my head saying a life for a life.

That night Angel and I promised not to mess with fate any longer. I wonder what the price would be for bringing my brother back. Something inside of me did not feel right from it but I couldn't just leave him dead.

I looked around the room and noticed I was in my own bed. The door swung open and my mother walked in.

Oh goddess sweetie! I am so happy that you are finally awake!

Mom? I said in a panic. How is Jackson?

Jackson is fine. Although he has quite a scar but not to worry. He calls it his warrior scar.

Sweetie, How are you?

I'm, I don't know? I mean I feel fine but I killed him mom. I couldn't leave him like that.

It's ok honey. Everyone is still a little shaken up about it but everyone is alive and well.

No mom you don't understand. To bring a life back something bad will happen.

What do you mean Anna? Now my mom looked scared. I told her about the deer and how the baby died immediately after.

But mom didn't look concerned. Nobody has died today right?

No. Nobody has died at all. not even after it happened that day, Everyone is still accounted for.

That day? Now it was my turn to look skeptical.

Sweetie you have been asleep for 2 weeks.

My eyes widened in shock. 2 WEEKS!!?

Mom where is Onyx?

He went home, Damian came and got him. I just spoke with Amy this morning and he is alive and well. considering the circumstances.

I looked around my room for my phone and finally saw it my my dresser. I quickly got up and dashed for it. I dialed Onyx's number and it barely rang once and I could feel so much relief as I heard his voice.

Baby??? Oh my goddess! I am so glad you are ok. I have been calling you everyday but I haven't heard anything. I was scared you wouldn't wake up.

I'm fine baby! I just woke up I needed to hear your voice.

Listen. I'm in training right now but can you meet me in our spot tonight I need to see you.!

I looked at my mom knowing she could hear our conversation and she just nodded her head. I'll keep your father busy.

I mouthed thank you to her and said Yes. I will be there. 10 pm ok?

I walked up to my mom and gave him the biggest hug I could.

She was a little surprised with the gesture.

Sweetie, You don't have to thank me. He is your mate. I won't let anyone stand in the way of a mate bond. Not even your father.

Yes? What do you think is going to happen now? Like I know bringing Jackson back will have some sort of consequence but I hope I didn't just get someone else killed.

We just have to take it one day at a time and when the time comes, We will deal with it.

Come one I am sure you and Angel are starving.

Yes finally some food. Angel said as she stretched in my head.

Oh my goddess Angel? I'm so sorry. I didn't even think to check on you!

I am fine Anna. I woke up 2 days ago but you still needed rest. Let's go eat.

And eat is what we did.

My mom sat there watching us gorge ourselves with food and it was probably a pretty disgusting sight but Angel and I needed this.

Danica has been bringing your school work home so you won't be behind when you go back. Make sure you thank her.

I will and before I could say anything else my father walked in. He looked as if he had seen a ghost.

I didn't say anything to him. What could I really say? He was against my love and everything that I have believed in. He was being a hypocrite. He could have his mate but I couldn't have mine?

I know it has been 2 weeks but to me it had still just happened. He kicked Onyx off of our land and left my wolf and I alone and wanting.

He sighed and said. I understand you don't want to talk to me but you'll soon realize that I was right and did this all for a reason.

Landon? My mother scolded. Don't. Not right now.

Then when Lariyah? When she runs off into the sunset with the Blood of your rapist running through his veins? I don't trust him and that is finally.

Is that what you really think of him? At least I know that Onyx would love me flaws and all.

My father slammed his hand on the table.

THAT IS ENOUGH OUT OF YOU. Because of you, your brother died. Now you will not see that boy again or you can just leave this house now and never come back.

I stood up and ran out of the pack house. Did his apology and promise mean nothing? Why is he acting like this. He should be treating sapphire the same way if that's how he feels but he doesn't and I guess I could never understand.

I heard my mom screaming my name but I shifted and took off into the woods. hoping to find a place that they wouldn't find me.

I ran for hours. I didn't have a destination in my mind. Not yet anyways but somehow we ended up at the kingdom. I shifted back into human form. I walked up to the guard station completely naked and out of breath.

I need to see Onyx Jordan! I panted out.

Miss?

Onyx Jordan! Get me Onyx Jordan!!

He mind linked someone and the 2nd guard wrapped a blanket around me.

Not even minutes later I saw Onyx and King Damian running towards the gate with extra guards. I stood up with tears in my eyes and ran towards him and he wrapped his arms around me as soon as we met up with each other.

Anna? Baby what's wrong? You're shaking.

He disowned me Onyx! I cried into his chest.

I didn't realize I ran out of the blanket. Until I heard Onyx growl and say AVERT YOUR EYES!

He took off his sweaty shirt and put it over my head. Baby you're not making any sense. He was worried. I was hyperventilating at this point.

Onyx, Let's take her back to the house. I heard Damian say.

Onyx picked me up in a bridal style and I just leaned into him smelling his scent. He was calming me down.

We made our way back to the pack house which was more like a castle and why wouldn't a king be in a castle.

Onyx took me to his bedroom after letting his dad know that we were going to meet him in his study in 10 minutes.

Onyx then told an omega to get me some clothes. She hurried off and was back within minutes of us making it to his room. I was completely calm by the time I got dressed.

Everything was like a bad dream. Onyx kissed me and then said. come on, dads waiting.

We walked hand in hand down to Damians study. Onyx knocked and Damian hollered for us to come in. We walked in and took a seat.

I haven't called your parents yet, Anna but would you be ok with telling us what is going on?

I told them everything. from the way dad has been treating Onyx to him refusing to acknowledge us as mate. then to him telling me not to come back if I choose Onyx. I was devastated. My father just disowned me and now I have no one except my mate.
