After the fiasco this morning, I found out what the hell happened for it to escalate into this and I have to say, I wouldn't have done any different than Onyx did to someone trying to claim my mate. Hell, Landon has already been through that. Drew may be my son and nobody knew Anna and Onyx were mated, but still you don't claim another without the consent of the other party.

He had always told us that Anna wanted to be with him as well. We didn't think to ask her and now we know we should have.

I can say I am honestly ashamed of my son at the moment even though I'm torn for him.

Landon, Riyann and I all came to an agreement about Drew's actions and the consequences that he will soon face. We were back in the office waiting for him to join us.

Onyx, Jason and Kaden had already left back to the kingdom but it took some serious persuasion to get him to do so. We had to call Damian in, as a reinforcement. He wasn't willing to leave Anna till he knew she was fine. I don't blame him.

Apparently Damian had already known they were mates. Onyx disclosed the information to him beforehand. Lariyah was still upstairs waiting for Anna to wake up. It had already been 8 hours since the incident. Riyann, being a doctor, checked up on her personally. She'll be fine and so will her wolf. They just need a lot of rest.

10 minutes later, Drew appeared. He had a few broken ribs and a concussion, torn knuckles and a fractured shoulder with a broken nose. Onyx had some bruises but that was it, Drew barely made a dent on him and I knew that if they hadn't been pulled apart that my son would have died.

Drew took a seat on the recliner to our left, Riyann and I sat on the loveseat and Landon say across from us on the couch. He had his head down as to not show us his bruised eye that was already healing.

What were you thinking, Drew? I asked him in anger.

Dad! I swear I didn't know that Anna and Onyx were mates. I would not have tried with her if only she would have just told me.

Although we will have a conversation about that as well. That is not what I am talking about. You rejected your mate? WHY?

His eyes about bulged out of his head. He didn't know we knew about.

She was an omega. Was all he said.

I stood up damn near seething. You rejected your goddess' gifted mate because of RANK?? Do you forget that your mother was a rogue??

I know, but mom is also a direct descendant of the moon goddess, which makes me one too.

Riyann sighed. No son. She may be my mother, but I am also her half-human bastard child. My siblings were created by her and her brother Helios. Although she loves me just the same, I couldn't be raised by her because of my human father. We are all her children. She created all of us in her light or else we would merely be human. But we taught you better than that, or I at least thought we did.

I'm sorry mom, I sat back down as he apologized.

I never wanted it to get to this.

So you were gonna force our hand into me letting you mate with my daughter? Landon spoke after all this time.

No, I swear. I just loved her and thought we could work because we have always gotten along and she wouldn't have been one of the she wolves that wanted to be with me just because of rank. I deal with that every day and every day I have to push more and more away from me.

But you have a mate, Drew. You could already have been experiencing the love she has to offer instead of trying to force a bond with someone you knew had a mate out there. Then you would not have had to worry about other she wolves trying so hard to mate with you. Riyann pleaded.

He looked back up at me and said what does that mean?

A knock was at the door and Landon went to open it.

Ahh Alpha Jacobi. You are right on time.

Jacobi walked in along with a little she wolf, she was pretty. I am guessing that this is my sons mates by the way his face paled.

She had fair skin, blond hair, a little on the skinny side but healthy none the less. brown eyes and she was at least 5'5''

She looked quite scared to be here. Please Violet, Have a seat, Landon showed to the couch. she sat in the middle between Landon and Jacobi. My mate was beaming at her. But she hadn't noticed, she was fidgeting with her hands in her lap.

Violet, It is nice to meet you. I am Beta Ajak, Drews father and this is his mother Riyann.

It's nice to meet the both of you she said very shyly.

Drew hadn't taken his eyes off of her in a way that shows that they could both still feel the mate bond. I was a little confused.

May I ask. How are you both still feeling the bond with the rejection in play.

Drew didn't answer. It seems as if he was in a trance. Violet finally looked up into his eyes and said to me, Because the rejection was not properly done beta Ajak. Drew didn't know or care to ask for my name. So all he said was. I reject you as my mate and ran off. then he came back and apologized while explaining the girlfriend and pup situation. We mated but didn't mark and after was when he asked for my name. I though he was going to properly reject me but he didn't. I haven't seen him until now.

I slapped the back of his head and he screamed ow and finally came out of his trance.

You don't disgrace the sacred mate bond by using and dumping your mate. What is wrong with you?

If I may interject. Since meeting Drew, I have not felt him mating another. I just thought that he had marked someone else, but that doesn't seem to be the case. She said to us making us relieved that he wasn't being stupid. But I came just incase you wanted to finish the rejection properly. She then turned her attention to Drew.

No. Was all he said.

What? Vivian exclaimed.

I don't want to reject you. I am sorry for lying to you about Anna. I had a fantasy that didn't come true and now I am glad. I'd understand if you don't want me now but if you could give me a chance, I promise to make it up to you.

Ahh there is my son. This is the boy I raised into a man. Not the coward who rejected and lied to his mate because he was ashamed of her rank.

Can you give me time to think?

Yes, as much as you need. He responded.

Well, that was easier than I thought. Alpha Jacobi, Violet. I have an omega just outside to show you to your rooms if you want to freshen up and take a breather after that long drive. Maybe later we could catch up over a drink.

I'll be sure to take you up on that offer, Landon. Jacobi said as they strolled out.

As the door closed, Drew let out a shaky breath full of relief. I really am sorry, he said as he looked at every single one of us.

It doesn't change what you have done. That is the reason why we chose this particular punishment.

In defeat, he said, I'll do anything, I know this is my fault and I will also apologize to Onyx for disrespected his mate bond.

Landon clenched his jaw but didn't say anything.

What do I have to do? Extra training? More patrol?

No, son. Until you prove to us that you can treat any and everyone in any pack respectfully instead of looking at them as ranked and non ranked then you will be treated as omega. With that being said, I will not hand over the title of beta until you either prove yourself or your sister trains for it.

What? Dad come on, I made a mistake. You are really going to take away the beta title?

No. You took away your own beta title by acting entitled. You literally rejected your mate because she is an omega.

But it didn't work! I messed up and that is something I will have to prove myself to Violet, but that doesn't mean that I should lose my title!

What do you think a beta does exactly?

To protect the alpha and the status of the pack. A beta is the 2nd in command and we do the alphas bidding for alpha when he isn't around.

Wrong!! Drew, what you don't understand about a beta is that, yes, it is our job to protect the alpha and take over when he needs us, but

We as alpha and beta are trusted by this pack to look after them, keep them safe and to make sure they have everything they need. We may be the leaders of a very large pack but without them and that is including omegas, we don't have a pack. Our pack is full of all ranks but not everyone can be ranked, not everyone can be a warrior. or an elder. But the majority of our pack is omegas who aren't strong enough to protect themselves so we protect them. We basically work our asses off for them and the safety of our loved ones and until you prove to me that you can treat everyone as equals then you will NOT be future beta. Is that understood.

You are dismissed. Your omegas duties will be worked out by your mother and Luna Lariyah and sent to you. Don't let me down son.

I won't I promise. He said as he stood up. I apologize to you as well Alpha Landon. Thank you for giving me another chance.

Landon nodded his head and said I will have you know that Violet will be joining our pack as of today so make sure you don't make me regret that decision Drew.

He smiled with relief. Yes sir thank you and he left.
