Annalisia POV

The day went by quickly without another incident. Nadia and her minions completely avoided me after this morning. The bell finally rang indicating that school was over for today and I welcomed the relief. My patience was wearing thin since I knew Onyx had to be at home by now. I was so anxious to see him.

My phone pinged as I walked out of the building and I looked at it.

Onyx: Meet me by the waterfall.

I smiled, knowing exactly where he was talking about. When we were little, he would visit with his family. We would hide out from everyone at the secret family waterfall. My mom had it renovated. I guess when her and dad found out they were mates, there was am incident there and let's just say it wasn't the greatest first impression the two had meeting.

I made my way to the tree line and disappeared, bag in tow. it took me 20 minutes to get there, I wish I could just shift already but that will be tonight.

The mouthwatering scent of fresh pine and rain came to my senses and I knew Onyx was still there waiting for me. His scent had gotten even stronger when he turned 18 last year. He is 19 now. Its the middle of fall so all the leaves are falling and it's starting to get chilly out.

Of course we don't get too cold, thanks to our wolves heat. I dipped in the door and crawled through. Sitting on the ground with his back turned to me was Onyx. He was staring at the waterfall looking lost in thought. Once again, making my heart soar. He sniffed the air and immediately stood and stared at me.

His gorgeous smile grew as I ran to him and jumped in his arms. It's been a minute since we had seen each other. Actually more then a minute. I haven't seen him since his 18th birthday last year. He had gotten taller and a lot more muscular. He has short brown hair, faded, piercing blue eyes that makes me melt. He's super tall, 6'10'' and 230 lbs, give or take. all muscles.

We have never done anything together. I'm actually still a virgin. We haven't even kissed. He had always said he never wanted to rush me in to anything. He was a complete gentle man to me. Others had no such luck with him. I believe I am the only one who has ever seen his gentle side and I love it.

Hey gorgeous. He said in a low and husky voice. I couldn't respond. His voice had gotten so much more deeper then I remember. The only thing I could do was kiss him, and I did.

My first kiss ever. It was perfect, Our lips met and I could tell he was shocked but then he gave in to it. His tongue begging for permission to enter and I happily obliged by opening my mouth, His tongue went in deep and tangled with mine. Sparks flying in the air between us as he hell me up by my ass. But at some point he backed me up because next thing I know something was against my back. We didn't break the kiss for what felt like hours then I started to feel something poking through his basketball shorts making me gasp.

I'm sorry baby, but we are going to have to stop if you don't want this to continue. You see what you do to me. I giggled and kissed his nose.

Onyx is not a virgin. The first time i felt him betraying our mate bond. I was 14, He was 17. It happened a few times, but I wasn't angry with him because he literally didn't know. If I wasn't born with Angel, then I wouldn't have even felt it. He realized it

once he turned 18 and found out we were mates.

He asked me why I never told him and I said what Angel had said. It wouldn't have been fair to him if I had said anything. He would have had to find out on his own.. Anyone could say they were his mates. I didn't want to be one of those girls. Then, for the next few weeks, he was doing any and everything to apologize for hurting me through the bond, no matter how many times I had told him that he wasn't to blame. Eventually, he listened and realized that I never blamed him. But I know he hasn't been going behind my back since. I was grateful that he cared so much.

He put me down on my feet but still holding me.

So I have to tell you something.

That didn't sound good coming from him. He looked upset as he led me back to where he was sitting by the waterfall and pulled me down on to his lap, straddling him.

He sighed and had a concerned look on his face.

What is it Onyx?

When my father told me that I was going to come here to train for a year, I was ecstatic. I was finally going to be with you and that is all I have ever wanted, even before I knew we were mates.

I ended up blurting out that you are my mate. I couldn't keep it in any longer. My mom and dad were so happy for me but then dad told me something that made a lot of sense.

I just stared at him, waiting for him to continue.

So for what ever reason, We both have always known that your dad has never really liked me. I could feel it but he always tolerated me because of your mom.

Yea. I still don't know what that is about. I mean. What is there not to like?

He smiled and gently kissed me.

What I am about to tell you might be of a shock. I was shocked myself.

WHAT? I was definitely shocked.

That wasn't the most shocking part. He continued.

Apparently, my birth mother used to date your dad and my birth father was a vicious tyrant. He was obsessed with your mom and did the most unimaginable things to her. My father didn't tell me what all happened but, by the way, he explained everything, it was really bad.

Where are your birth parents now?

Dalton is dead,. Your mom finally ended him. I don't know where Lacey is. Nobody does. I guess she was trying to find a way to get your dad back and she met Dalton. They found out they were mates and teamed up together. She even went as far as trying to trick my dad. Anyways, your mom is the reason Sapphire and I are alive today. Lacey never wanted us. We were just a plan that failed when she couldn't get what she wanted. They had her locked in the cells and your mom made sure she ate and gave birth to us, keeping us healthy. She was supposed to be put to death afterwards, but then some old council and Dalton came during your parents Luna ceremony. Your mom was pregnant at the time, but instead she ended up dying when she killed Dalton and the council with some powers that she had.

My mom died? She had powers? None of what Onyx is telling me made sense. My parents seemed to have a lot more secrets then what I thought.

How did my mom die when she is literally at home right now? This doesn't make any sense.

The moon goddess granted her another chance at life. That is what my father told me.

Why would he tell you and my parents never told me?

I'm guessing it has something to do with either you or one of your siblings being an all powerful chosen one. They don't know which one of you it is but they know something is suppose to happen and only one of their pups will possess a great power that could bring peace to the world.

Well it's definitely not me then. I don't have any powers but my siblings do so maybe it's one of them.

Are you kidding me Anna. You are so special. Even I can see that. You always have been. Not to mention that you are the only one to exist that has ever been born with a wolf.

Onyx, being born with a wolf doesn't mean I am special. Everyone is born with a wolf. They just can't communicate till they turn 16 and shift for the first time.

Angel has been quiet in my head all day, she wanted to make sure we got enough rest for our shift tonight. So it's not like I can really ask her anything. But I can't seem to understand why our parents would keep something like this from us. It does make sense as to why Dad doesn't like Onyx but it wasn't his fault. He had nothing to do with the reason his birth parents being crazy.

Why does my dad hate you when anyone can see you are nothing like them?

Onyx sighed and looked back at the waterfall, He was upset and it showed all over his expression.

I apparently look like Dalton. The exact replica in fact only I am more taller and built and I'm not a murderous psycho. What If I turn out to be just like them? They are horrible people and their wolves weren't so good either.

My heart broke for Onyx. He has been treated like a leper in our pack because of someone else.

Baby look at me. I said as i grabbed his face with both of my hands and turned his head towards me. He had some tears in his eyes that were threatening to fall down.

Don't let anybody ever make you feel like you are less. You are amazing. DNA doesn't make family and nothing your birth parents did will ever define you.

He closed his eyes and a single tear fell. I took that moment and kissed it away. tasting the saltiness of his tear. He is my everything and I know deep within my heart that he is destined for great things.

I love you Onyx. I wrapped my arms around him, hoping I could help him ease this burden.

I love you Annalisia. He said as he held me close.

My sweet man, strong, protective and caring. How could anyone ever believe he could be so horrible is beyond me.

We pulled away and finally the heart warming smile that I fell so in love with appeared on his face, making me smile just as much.

Why did your dad end up telling you all of this anyway?

He said it's something I will need to know being future alpha king, since Lacey has never been caught,. No one knows if she is even alive. But also, because your mom thinks that there is a chance that you might actually be the one that the moon goddess was talking about, That it might be your destiny. And since we are mates... He shrugged his shoulders but I knew what he meant.

Is he going to tell my parents?

No. He says we need to be able to tell them together, it's not his place to do so. But come on, it's getting late and we need to get back before you mom sends the calvary after us. You got your first shift soon and I can not wait to meet my Angel.

Angel perked up a little bit, She loves when he calls her his angel but just as quickly she went back to sleep, I know having Onyx here will definitely help our transition. I stood up and Onyx jumped up right after. We turned to go out of the passageway and stopped dead in our tracks.

He was leaning on the tree next to the passage way just staring at us, f**k!

Jackson? How much of that did you just hear?

Enough to know that you were born with your wolf and that the two of you are mates. He just confirmed what I feared.
